Rather than pursue a spiritual fellowship among brethren (see episode #26 - "the Fellowship of the Mystery") we have largely opted for an artificial religious order based on creeds and algorithms in a bid for conformity rather than true unity. God has resisted this scheme by giving us over to another mystery - that of Babylon.

House Church Concerns

In recent years I have become almost as concerned with the "House Church Movement" as I have with the Institutional Church. There is this prevalent belief, misconception, that simply moving meetings from a formal sanctuary into a living room is somehow "a cure all to end all." Additionally, we are gaining an accumulation of "How To" books within this "Movement" in the manner of many of the other "popular movements." Of course, not everyone has been immersed as I have, or we have, related to House Church influences, expose's on what's wrong with the Institutional Church, the historical roots of its many practices, the New Testament pattern of church, and so forth and so on.

No doubt, these are all valid factors in our overall understanding of where we are and how we got there, along with the technical correctness of how church was designed to be set up and function. For myself, it can rightfully be said that Church History has played no insignificant role in formulating my convictions, next to the Scriptures and personal experience. Furthermore, I am convinced that meeting in homes and other informal venues provides for the greatest possibility for the preeminence of Christ and Body life as it was originally intended to be.

That said, it is also true that it is far easier to take the people out of the church than to take the church out of the people. It is far easier to fill a vacuum than to have to de-program and re-program people who, for the most part, bring their personal baggage along with them, requiring a sort of "decompression chamber" within the process of spiritual restoration in order to establish spiritual health and go on to maturity. And frankly, in a real sense, there is no more vulnerable place for believers and more fertile environment for error and abuse than within such an informal and ostensibly unstructured venue as "outside the camp." This is where "leaders" who have been prepared by the Lord outside of the Institutional Church framework and mindset will be needed and called upon to minister to such as these. With freedom comes increased risk and greater responsibility. I would submit that despite, or in addition to, the most technically correct New Testament approach to "doing church," what ultimately distinguished the Early Church was that it was led and influenced by men who knew Christ intimately, and could impart that knowledge in spirit and truth. They imparted more than mere teachings, but could impart the very Life of the Lord through their lives.

Mystery Babylon is identified and much spoken of in the scriptures.....here I'll share what the Lord has been gracious to show me thus far on this:

Rev 18:2

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Jer 5:22-31

Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Rev 18:12

The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

Rev 18:16

And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

Exo 25:4

And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair,

Exo 26:1

Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.

Exo 26:31

And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

Exo 26:36

And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.

Exo 27:16

And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

Exo 28:5

And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen.

Exo 28:6

And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work.

Rev 18:24

“And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”

Luk 11:47-51

Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.
Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

MYSTERY BABYLON IS A HOUSE OF MERCHANDISE, OF BUYING AND SELLING:

Rev 18:9-19

And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

The merchandise
of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

(These kings and merchants of the earth are talking about the fleshly/earthly/worldly “kings”- priests, pastors, ministers within God’s own house, who bear rule by their own means, not by the Spirit – speaks to Israel of old as well as the church - it’s not talking about those of the world.)

Rev 13:17

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Rev 18:3

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Mark 11:12-17

And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;

And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

And when even was come, he went out of the city.

And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

Jhn 2:13-17

And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

2Pe 2:1-4

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;…………..

Amen, that's a very true analogy. And notice in Jeremiah 5, one sign of false prophets/teachers and apostate Israel and church is that they overpass the deeds of the wicked. The church needs to stop being lax and complacent about leaven, but have a "spirit of excellence" that Daniel had...which I take to mean no compromising with anything.

I always thought
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird
what is underlined is interesting.
We have the Holy Spirit depicted as a dove--a clean pure bird, and unclean and hateful birds could also represent spirits, but a different kind.
Those who are not Spirit filled but say they are. I see many of these guys on TV

The blood it spilled as it tortured and persecuted the saints is not hard to find... The Catholic Inquisition, Methods Of Torture And Victims
Yes, very true. Mystery Babylon and mystery of iniquity/lawlessness is about the house of God turned into a sinful and covetous house of merchandise......important to understand that it manifested first with Israel/Jerusalem which was judged/destroyed and house left desolate in 70 AD, and it manifests also in Christendom...which is awaiting a day of judgment. Those scriptures are describing so clearly today's church too, unfortunately. Many false teachers/prophets waxing rich in the trafficking/trading of their wares of false doctrines, and capturing souls of men. And I believe this is all sadly leading back to Jerusalem again, so we need to be watchful and awake!

IT IS leading all right back to a unifed religoin that will be centered in JERSUALEM .
They are being led too and having all hope in THE WRONG JERUSALEM .
I notice THE JERUSALEM that paul and others spoke about . AND IT WAS NOT EARTHLY . THAT was NOT where their hope
ever was . IT WAS IN THE HEAVENLY JERUSALEM , not built by man , wherein john MADE sure to tell us
I SAW NO TEMPLE , FOR GOD AND THE LAMB ARE THE TEMPLE .
ITS all heading down hill sister and worse it was leaders who appeared with horns as a lamb
BUT THEY SPOKE AS A DRAGON sister . THIS is not looking good , nor is the end of it GONNA BODE well at all
for all who entered into its convenant in the name of world PEACE N SAFETY under the guise of it was love and of GOD .
I never seen a delusion like this sister that is captivating all religoins , secular and has come
from WITHIN the very realm that was SUPPOSED TO BE PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF TRUTH , OF CHRIST
and yet has been preaching a gospel for POWER AND CONTROL under guise of false love . The peoples
are as the blind and the blind cry unto the leaders and say LEAD US
and the leaders be the blind and no man can open or read the book .
Save us they cry but cry unto men of this world and not unto the ONLY GOD AND CHRIST that could have saved them .
GIVE US a GOD in our image they cry , away with this HOLY ONE spoken of in the bible .
AWAY with that JESUS , that GOD , that gospel . GIVE us a god who will let us do as we please
and yet save us . IT WONT BODE WELL SISTER for all who do such a thing .
JESUS , GOD , IS NO MINISTIR OF SIN . AND HIS LOVE will never HONOR SIN
or any other path or beleif to GOD . ITS TIME WE GET BACK to the bible , as YOU KNOW
and we keep on exhorting about THAT JESUS , that TRUTH , that gospel . cause many are not gonna make it
and no matter how many stones they add , peoples , into thier unholy diverse temple they believe reaches to heaven
ITS ALL COMING DOWN ON THE DAY OF THE LORD

People dont get why its called MYSTERY .
IF we read the bible we can see the answer .
The inquity is coming FROM WITHIN THOSE WHO CAME in the name of GOD and of CHRIST .
as with the jew so too with the times of the gentiles . A MASSIVE FALLING AWAY has gone viral
and it came FROM WITHIN . ITS THE LEADERS , as it was with the jews , who brought this MYSTERY INTO the realm of christendom .
Many folks are looking for a donkey to pin the tail on as to who is gonna decieve this world .
OH ITS HERE , IT HAS COME FROM WITHIN OUR OWN REALM , IN ITS OWN NAME and yet uses the name OF GOD and of CHRIST
as does a wolf in WOOL , as does a prophet who appears to have horns LIKE , LIKE , LIKE , a lamb
BUT SPEAKY AND DOEY as A DRAGON . FOR IT IS OF THE DRAGON . IT IS THE MYSTERY OF INQUITY
IT IS MYSTERY BABYLONE and IT HAS CAPTIVATED the kings of this world , and its religoins
to merge them all as one under what they think is love is GOD . BUT its the dragon .

Amen so right brother...that is worth repeating and hope nobody misses seeing it.

Bible says the Jerusalem that is above is our mother.....and here we have no continuing city.

Heb 11:13-16

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Interesting topic...

I Have found the church as a whole seems to go through phases of living vibrant faith, That turn the world upside down whose liberty shines above the oppressiveness of the old order of "creeds and algorithms" as you call them, Only to find that new vibrancy of the Spirit to be bound in a new order of creeds of those movements being institutionalized. So for example, whatever vibrancy and freedom that was had in the reformation was quickly swallowed up by institutions they created (Lutheranism and Calvinism etc.) I think it was this way from the beginning and can be found in the seven churches in Revelation, from death life to death again to life again.

The overarching reason that i believe this happens is the spirit of fear overtaking our Love.... fear leads to creeds to protect the youth from falling instead of trusting God to build His church, creeds leads to the death (Quenching) of the vitality of the Spirit and the anointing (Unction) of the Spirit that this vitality brings.... It is like fear overtakes us when we truly let the Spirit take control of us.... that fear leads to us taking control back from the Spirit and minimizing the anointing and man taking control again by way of creeds and doctrines of men (Conformity).

And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: (Galatians 2:4)

Paul deals with these same things here in Galatians with the "Circumcision" creeds, from liberty to bondage.... This is all over the Old and new testaments from David saying "I Will walk at Liberty..." (Psalm 119:45) To Isaiahs Prophecy evoked by Christ to bring Liberty to the captives (Isaiah 61:1) The "Good tidings" (AKA Gospel) is explicitly tied to liberty and not captivity, to revival and not rut and rot as Tozier spoke of, to life and not death as the church of Sardis was told to repent of. There is security in bondage like the Israelites seeking to return to Egypt rather than enter the Promised Land (Resting place) That God had for them. Seeking this security is based on fear of the unknown, the spirit of fear overtaking revival... fear of losing control, lack of faith in the leading of the Spirit, and instead trusting in the might of men over the Power of the Spirit....
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. (Zech. 4:6)
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)

It is a dead spirit, the spirit of fear that overtakes the church, that leads to a reliance on creeds and doctrines of men instead of the unction of the Spirit and the "life" the Spirit brings.

Sorry for the rambling post. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

I only just now have started to watch. And, am only a short ways into your video but, i will save for later on YT.

Home churches I would imagine, could be wonderful...as long as everyone agrees the same way in serious, doctrine, like salvation, afterlife and others. But I can see divisions, hard, angry disagreements more so than in the institutional churches as, it is more personal and much smaller than these churches today.

From what I read in a book titled "Will The Real Heretics Please Stand Up", the author is giving summaries of all the "early church fathers" although he himself believes that only the Apostles were the "early church fathers", as did they. And he writes that they were much less dogmatic in doctrine and more focused on Christ and His commands.

Starts with Polycarp as he studied under one or more of the Apostles (you already know this, I know lol) and goes onto those like, Iranaeus, Justin, Clement of Alexandria, Origen (brilliant, controversial, martyr...) Cyprian-talk about dying to self! And there are as couple more mentioned.

'I'm thinking that some Christians would be very surprised to know what some of these guys did and did not believe!

I will get to the rest of your video Epi...God willin :)

Amen. This is the problem the Lord has when dealing with mankind........there is of course never a problem on His end, in what He does, but it doesn't take long before flesh gets in the way and starts to handle what He is doing. Otherwise we could have revivals going on potentially that never end. I believe that is the lesson of trying to steady and handle the ark of God with hands of flesh...resulting in death.

This remind me of when Peter experienced the mount of transfiguration his first impulse was to build some tabernacles to go along with it. The rebuke of God was immediate. We are to hear the Lord not try building something for Him. It's too bad that being so not in touch with God's ways, we have to wait so long to realize we are practicing vanity.

When you with rebukes correct man for iniquity, you make his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah. Ps. 39:11

Yes, as soon as the Lord does something good we have a tendency to want to "bottle it" in order to have it always. But I believe it is ultimately in His wisdom that there is an ebb and flow with His workings, and a time to everything under heaven. There are times when in His wisdom He withdraws and hides from us. For example, one reason has to do with the flesh....too much of His presence and heavenly bliss while still being mortal and dealing with our old nature can spoil us when we what we need for our good is to suffer. Another reason I believe has to do with allowing things in us to come up to the surface so that they can be dealt with.
