Do you trust in Christ because of his death and resurrection of Jesus?

I Trusted in Christ because the Holy Spirit revealed to me, that i needed Him as my Savior.

Is that how you believe you are kept saved?...by looking to the cross?

Im "kept saved" by Jesus.

He is my Salvation.

He Lives in Me, and i am joined to Him, and because HE is Salvation, and because HE is Eternal Life, and because HE is The Resurrection.. = then i have all those, because i am born again "In Christ".

I’m just trying to understand your testimony of how you became Born Again...

All are born again by God's Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit birth's our spirit as "born again"... into the Spirit of God..

This is to become "in Christ"... "One with God"...

So, where all can have a difference, is based on how we came to believe..... But the "being born again", is God doing that the same way for us all.

One person says...."well, one day i was walking on the beach, and i looked down and someone had written.. JESUS SAVES, in the sand and suddenly, ...

or someone says.....>"i was in jail for dealing drugs, and a preacher came to visit the person in the cell next to mine, and he was talking about how Jesus died on the Cross and suddenly..........

or someone says......."i was watching JESUS of Nazareth on the TV, and that part where Jesus is being Crucified came on and suddenly.....

or someone says....>"my brother became a Christian, and he kept bothering me about my need to trust in Christ, and i was just SICK of hearing it........and then one day, in going to get some food, and on the way back from the store..........suddenly..!!

You say you believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus...I’m asking how do you know that Jesus died and was resurrected?..

Because God's word is True

And because i have personal experience with It.
And because Jesus lives in me, and He has changed my heart.
And because i can look back at what i used to be like, many years ago, and now after ive been born again for a long time, i can see HOW God has changed me so much over time.... in a way that is impossible for me to have done it.

Also,

I can teach the NT, and i can write Threads, and Sermons, and commentaries, and i have no idea how i do this.., but it just happens.
Its "in there"..
I have over 300 Threads on this forum, and i have no idea how i do it.. but i do.
It comes to my mind.. and then i start and then the verses come, and then it gets deeper and just keeps coming through.
That is always right there waiting to happen..and that is not of me.

Of course @Ritajanice I have studied the bible, nearly every day for a long time.... and i have seminary training.......all that stuff, but, that is not what causes what i do.
What is relevant, the answer is... that in 1986 i had an experience with Heaven, and this led me to understand that i was called.
God then confirmed this supernaturally for the next 5 yrs, and all i could do was be amazed.
And then over the years, this Call kept proving itself.

What is my "call"

Evangelist/Teacher.

And that is why my posts and Threads are so Evangelistic and so Cross Centered, and that is why there is an obvious aggression that comes into the teaching, and even morseo in the preaching.

See, an Evangelist is a specific type of anointing...... Its not like a Pastor's Anointing..

The Pastor's anointing is to embrace and hug and love and give warmth and welcome, and His teaching is going to be more generalized.
Whereas the Evangelist is a very hot anointing. Its designed to kick down walls and break strongholds and take back what the devil has captured.
Its not about being nice....its about destroying the Devil's territory.
Its not sweet, or soft or gentle.. . Its a dynamic and direct and powerful type of force, that comes against what is not Truth.

I was 8 years old. But, as you noted, I knew it was God. (Jesus?)
For anyone who hasn't read my testimony...

This is a story worth sharing. At eight years of age I was attending a Summer Bible camp in Wisconsin.
In a morning chapel service the man speaking did as they always did, he gave an invitation to receive Christ.
He asked that all heads be bowed and all eyes closed.
But I found myself peeking to see if any of these "lost sinners" would raise a hand.
At that moment God spoke to me. Though it was a supernatural event, it seemed as natural to me as anything.
I knew who it was and wasn't frightened, or disturbed by it. What I heard was mind-blowing. It came like a tap on my shoulder.
The message was clear and direct. "If you think it is so important, why haven't you done it?" I was speechless.
I answered with my feet. I knew the drill. I rose to my feet and pushed my way to the aisle to go forward before we were even asked to do so.
When I was a young adult I made a connection about this event that had not been apparent to me at the time.
The man who led me to Christ was the son of the man that led my father to the Lord.
A Christian Alliance missionary that went from farm to farm inviting people to Sunday School and sharing the gospel
in the area where my father grew up. Basically in the middle of nowhere.
Such a wonderful mystery, the workings of our great God.

Then please explain what personal experience you had?

God says we must be Born of the Spirit.?

That’s enough questions for me to ask at the moment...I can’t process what you are saying so quickly...I may come back to you on the other answers you gavexxx
Also,

I can teach the NT, and i can write Threads, and i have no idea how i do this.., but it just happens.

So, that is how i am perceived because that is the Call im under.
And the Teaching gift i have, is proven because people are attracted to the LIFE that is in the words i teach.
Even people on forums who try to abuse me, or ridicule me, or ban me... they read what i write.
They are affected by it, and that is not of me.
It's because God is in it., and that is one more thing about my Christianity that has proven itself to me for many years on Forums, and many more years in REAL Life.

Any time you like.

Right.
You CAN'T go backwards in that situation.

Son: I wish I had never been born!
Mom: Oh, my. You shouldn't talk that way.
Son: That's how I feel.
Mom: What's wrong, dear?
Son: Can't I just go back where I came from?
Mom: Say what? !!!

As long as you obey and follow Him, otherwise you will reap the results of your bondage to sin...
Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
There are only two kinds of servants in this world, in the spiritual sense; servants of sin unto death and servants of obedience unto righteousness. When we place our faith exclusively in Jesus Christ for salvation/believe the gospel by trusting in His finished work of redemption as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation (Romans 4:5-6; Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 1:16) we then become servants of obedience unto righteousness.

Being a servant of sin unto death is 'descriptive' of unbelievers. Being a servant of obedience unto righteousness is 'descriptive' of believers.
Being servants of sin is put in the "past tense" for believers.

Paul goes on to say in Romans 6:18 - You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

Notice in Romans 10:10 - For with the heart one believes unto righteousness..

Notice in Romans 4:5 - But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith (not his works) is accounted for righteousness.

If that's true, we are all toast.
None of us is capable of obeying completely.

Do you "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind"?
And "Love your neighbor as yourself"?

That's a tall order. Have you not already failed to obey even that much today?

Yes!

I was 8 years old. But, as you noted, I knew it was God. (Jesus?)
What God said blew my 8 yr old mind. Is was literally stunned. (trance-like reaction)
At that point I didn't care what else was happening in the room.
Pastor had asked that every head be bowed and every eye be closed.

I stood up before the invitation to come forward was given and climbed over arms and legs
to get to the aisle to go forward. Pastor may have been a bit stunned as well.
He knew me and my father, whom his father had led to the Lord. - LOL

What you wrote is beautiful., yet what you do on the Forum isn't, much of the time.

You are a mocker, of Hell, and yet the unbelievers are in it.....

You write Threads that try to discredit the bible and yet you want to be perceived as loving God and being a Christian.

How many Threads do you have on this forum that are like the one you posted about the Book of Genesis being only Symbolic?

So, you can fool some of these kiddies, who dont understand how to recognize a Luke 11:35..... but you can't fool me and you certainly have not bluffed the Holy One who wrote the Bible that you have castigated so many times, including yesterday, and probably will again as soon as the wrong spirit moves you again, fella.

Thats on you, @St.Steven

I can’t say I have ever wanted God to un- birth me.....

It’s not easy having been chosen and predestined to be Born Again..imo....it turns our life completely upside down....because all of a sudden we have become Born Again.....I was so elated!!!...I was on cloud nine.

I wasn’t aware of the extremely painful, heart breaking at times, road ahead....boy has it been some journey, I’m in a great place at the moment.....I am kept walking this road, by the power of the Holy Spirit, at times also, it’s been extremely lonely....because most of my family think I have lost the plot, except for my young Son, he was about 4/ 5 when I became Born Again, so that’s all he knows...I could go on and on and on....that is my testimony,xx

How can anyone Love God, without the rebirth?

How can we Love God, without him first loving us, via his Spirit, when he birthed our spirit into his....God Spirit is Love....I was overwhelmed with the amount of Love he flooded my heart with..when he birthed my spirit into his.

No one can know God without the witness of the Holy Spirit....witnessing Gods truth to their heart/ spirit.

We must be Born Of The Spirit to become his Spiritual child...imo,xx

It seems he calls us to salvation very differently...otherwise we wouldn’t all be arguing over it, would we?xx

My testimony and POV.xxx

I think it finally dawned on my what you are referring to.
Seems to be a reference to the indwelling Spirit that comes INTO us.

It just occurred to me how your username would be pronounced in UK.

Reeter-Janice - LOL

I've been to England. (on a missions trip)
Got along great with my British brothers and sisters.
They seem to appreciate my sense of humor.
We had some laughs.

Walking past the Ministry of War building, I turned to my friend and asked,
"Have you ever considered going into the ministry?" - He roared at that.
Repeated it to another friend to make sure he heard it.

Visiting the home of a sister I looked out the back and commented...
"That's a nice back yard." She gasped and retorted, "That's not a yard, that's a garden!"
Didn't look like a garden to me. So I asked, "What's a yard?" She replied, "A dump."
Oops. Live and learn.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Don't you want everyone to go to heaven? God does.

The Ultimate Redemption of all humankind does NOT mean that everyone automatically goes to heaven.
I can help you to overcome your ignorance concerning UR if you like. But you probably prefer your ignorance.
