I have no doubt demons do this .And why don't demons exercise physical power over people on a regular basis?
The deception in the world is not that the devil doesn't exist, its in what way a accuser is revealed! Judas was one such false accuser but not a fallen angel as you would have it.I have no doubt demons do this .
For other posters in this thread .
“The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist”—Charles Baudelaire
Jesus was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit for the express purpose of being tempted by the devil, so that's what He was willing to be subject to.My study notes do not offer an explanation. Thoughts?
I'm doing no such thing. If you believe this is true, prove it. Show the Biblical content you are reading into this Scripture as I am directly quoting Scripture.Do you appreciate how much non Biblical content you are reading into this Scripture to even arrive at your inference?
So much eisegesis. This subject isn't as straightforward as those who believe in a fallen evil angel might make it seem.
From my experience, directly confronting this belief rarely leads to understanding. Instead, a better approach is to encourage them to explore the context and the reasons behind the Spirit leading Christ into the wilderness....this can be a good starting point for discussion.
Revealed in the Book of Matthew Chapter 4 . I read the text and I see what is wrote why would I doubt what is wrote prima facia ?The deception in the world is not that the devil doesn't exist, its in what way a accuser is revealed!
If you have a list of the Devil's tricks from greatest to least you can list them .And by the way, would you place your Biblical understanding in the hands of a French poet, essayist, and art critic?
Its none of the above . satan was simply ALLOWED to TEMPT CHRIST .In Luke 4:6 and 9 it reads, depending on the translation, that the Devil took Jesus up or led Jesus. If the devil led Jesus to a high place, it means Jesus followed the devil.
If the devil had physical power over Jesus, why didn't he throw Jesus to his death? And why don't demons exercise physical power over people on a regular basis?
My study notes do not offer an explanation. Thoughts?
That’s simply not how the text reads. I understand you not wanting to come to terms with it.Its none of the above . satan was simply ALLOWED to TEMPT CHRIST .
What a provoking question
While I totally agree with this, the verses referenced in the OP state otherwise. How do you reconcile this?Based on the Bible, Jesus neither followed Satan nor was He under Satan's physical power. Jesus' life was marked by complete obedience to God and victory over sin and Satan.

The language in Luke 4:6 and 9 (depending on the translation) can suggest that Satan "led" or "took" Jesus to different places. However, this does not mean that Jesus willingly "followed" Satan in a submissive sense then satans "leading" was part of the test Jesus underwent as the Son of God. Theologically, this temptation served to affirm Jesus’ sinlessness and His triumph over Satan, demonstrating His authority as the second Adam (Romans 5:19; 1 Corinthians 15:45).Thank you. I like to provoke thought.

Welcome @RootedWithGod to the forums. Not sure that answered your question ?
If I had to guess to answer the question ( and para-phrase scripture). I would assume that the same protection we have when we seek the Fathers strength and Guidance. So did Jesus during his trials.Welcome @RootedWithGod to the forums.
Although you didn’t answer my question, it was a good answer.
If we read into the text as @Stumpmaster wrote that Jesus let himself be tempted and only in that limited context was led by the devil to the heights, it may give us some comfort. However, the text does not support this inference.
Yes, Jesus was led to the desert by the HS. However, this does not extend to the devil working in conjunction with the Holy Spirit’s plan for the testing. Rather, the devil took the opportunity of Jesus being weak to temp him is inferred.
Another important point, just because Scripture identifies this time as the time that the devil tempted Jesus does not mean there were not other times. This led to the controversial film, The Last Temptation of Christ.
If anything could be inferred from Scripture not explicitly written about Jesus formative years it is that all of Heavens Armies would be fully deployed to prevent the 1/3 that fell from sabotaging in any way, Christ’s mission on Earth.
Supposing the devil was unaware of who Jesus was until the baptism, it is not reasonable to suppose the devil would stop at this 1 instance to temp him, e.g., tempting Peter to rebuke Jesus and the retort to call Simon by a 3rd name, Satan himself. Thoughts?
Another poster addressed the physical power of demons over people question. When I get time, I’ll circle back to that.
He didn't fall into temptation. Therefore, he didn't have any power over him. Jesus was already filled with the Holy Spirit. In Luke 4:6 and 9 it reads, depending on the translation, that the Devil took Jesus up or led Jesus. If the devil led Jesus to a high place, it means Jesus followed the devil.
If the devil had physical power over Jesus, why didn't he throw Jesus to his death? And why don't demons exercise physical power over people on a regular basis?
My study notes do not offer an explanation. Thoughts?
God cannot deny HIMSELF , HIS TRUTH . HE is truth .He didn't fall into temptation. Therefore, he didn't have any power over him. Jesus was already filled with the Holy Spirit.
Nothing passes through God's hand and God already had a plan for how he would give his son. God allowed the test, knowing He would still win.
@amigo de christoThere is a reason i brought this video .
This girl was not loved , not corrected but rather was pumped a lie .

This is THE frame of reference to examine the verses from the OP! Thanks for the post.He didn't fall into temptation.
