This is the exhilaration that people get when they tie a bungee cord to their ankles and launch themselves off the bridge to fall to just above the water below. Their faith is in the calculations of the operators, that they will survive their fall from the bridge. They pay lots of $s for this thrill. Just like life if you ask me, not worrying about what will come next.

The small bungee cords kind of stood out to me , and then in context of what The Lord said about how we treat the word of God. Individual verses linked together is not the same as having a solid rope ( the whole thing )
Also they were different colours, just made me think of the Bible highlighters that we sometime use to mark certain verses.

As a bicyclist, we normally use bungee cords to secure a load so it won't shift during the bumps and jolts of transportation. I see here people trying to use the Bible to "support their own 'weight'" (agendas).

Would we do that?

Nah! Never!

I'm also thinking about why someone tries to climb out of a window of a high-rise building. You only do that to escape a fire.

Now I'm getting into areas that make me uncomfortable.
I'm thinking it might have something to do with this proverb:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;"

Perhaps someone is in a situation they need to leave a situation, and they need to be careful about the doctrines they have placed trust in when stepping out on their own.

I know that isn’t directly for me ( although I need to reflect on it more ) but thanks for posting proverbs 3:5-6
The Lord always puts that verse before me on a regular basis, it was the verse given to me at my baptism over 40years ago. It reminds me to trust regardless of my prospective - Gods prospective and understanding is bigger. xx
