I see no contradiction. I'm born again from above, saved by the Grace of God, through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit gives you Power, it's one of the 7 traits of the Holy Spirit. Isaias 11:1. That is the power to cast out demons. It's all the Holy Spirit. Now about Sanctification, continually changing by the indwelling of the Holy Spirt, is what changes you. It makes an alcoholic stop drinking, a drug addict from taking drugs, etc.. You may continue in sin for a while, then the Holy Spirit changes you, that is, your mind, you attitude, and maybe your health. Your suffering brings you closer to God, and yes, you will suffer for that sin, but you will come through it praising God and no other.
None of that addresses the OP. Again, we're talking about the current state of affairs where "evangelical Christianity" is powerless to deal effectively with devils - whether without or within.

The Holy Spirit gives you Power...That is the power to cast out demons.
Again, the issue is: why is that not happening?

Why is requisite sanctification not a thing among professed believers???

I don't agree a Christian cannot be possessed. Kenneth Copeland certainly is.
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! (Mat. 6:23)

I can't tell you. Sanctification is mentioned by the Apostle Paul several times in the bible. Sunday school classes teach it and I learned in college. It seems common knowledge to me. As far as casting demons out, many church going Christians just don't go out in the world and see people with demons and recognize them. I have prayed over sick people and the Holy Spirit healed them. Nobody has come to me to ask to remove a demon. They only ask to be healed. In my early years in ministry, I didn't know how or to recognize a processed person, because they didn't teach it in college. But I learned quickly enough in missionary work. Demon processed people are self-destructive. That's easy to spot. Find a drunk on the sidewalk, pray and cast out the demon. If he is not a Christian and the demon leaves and he feels better. Jesus said watch out that after a demon leaves, the demon goes through dry places and comes back with more demons, and he'll be worse than at first. Matthew 12:43. So casting a demon out can have repercussions, if they don't quickly become a Christian.
