Why is requisite sanctification not a thing among professed believers???
None of that addresses the OP. Again, we're talking about the current state of affairs where "evangelical Christianity" is powerless to deal effectively with devils - whether without or within.I see no contradiction. I'm born again from above, saved by the Grace of God, through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit gives you Power, it's one of the 7 traits of the Holy Spirit. Isaias 11:1. That is the power to cast out demons. It's all the Holy Spirit. Now about Sanctification, continually changing by the indwelling of the Holy Spirt, is what changes you. It makes an alcoholic stop drinking, a drug addict from taking drugs, etc.. You may continue in sin for a while, then the Holy Spirit changes you, that is, your mind, you attitude, and maybe your health. Your suffering brings you closer to God, and yes, you will suffer for that sin, but you will come through it praising God and no other.
Again, the issue is: why is that not happening? The Holy Spirit gives you Power...That is the power to cast out demons.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! (Mat. 6:23)I don't agree a Christian cannot be possessed. Kenneth Copeland certainly is.
