He received the Holy Ghost upon his baptism which is exactly what annanias did after his sight was restored. Acts 2:38 tells you that plainly. When you're baptized you receive the indwelling of Holy Ghost. Acts 22 once again made it clear that Paul received his sight by annanias laying on of his hands. Annanias had no power as did the apostles to enable the manifestation of the spirit. Annanias was not an Apostle. Acts 9 and Acts 22 are in sync with one another. And the d of God wasn't wrong, you're just misunderstanding it. Read the accountof Simon the sorcerer. There it states that he wanted to purchase the power that he saw the apostles had, that by the laying on of their hands tge Holy Ghost was made manifest.

Acts 8

17Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. 18And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 19Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

Read verse 13 in Acts 22. What does it say as Paul recalls it? Only that Annanias was to restore his sight.

13Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.
Lol
Yep you are cessationist.

Acts 22

I know WHERE you are coming from now.
Cherry pick doctrine student.

Be consistent.
Search the gospels and know all the verses left out by one gospel account vs the others.

It is now your responsibility to reframe them so they all match.

You are in a corner big time.
Be consistent and do to the gospel story what you are doing to Paul's testimony.

Oh and do Please NOTE that annanias SAID, "why do you tarry, get up and get baptised."

This indicates he needed to get over to the Jordan river?
Some other water deep enough?
How far away was that?
How much time elapsed?
IOW....YOU are implying something ridiculous.

But it gets worse, because you need to show an example of someone being water baptized as " go and be filled with the Holy Ghost." Then they deciphered it as " oh you mean water baptism"

Or that The Holy Ghost was imparted several times, via water baptism instead of all the times Holy Spirit Baptism is SHOWN CLEARLY ,via the LAYING ON OF HANDS.

IOW, To be consistent you need tons of bible editing.
Tons of it.

Water baptism is not a prerequisite to be "Baptized in the Holy Spirit" but it is the concurrent Way in which God Begins with the Gospel.

Pay attention to how God overrides religious speculation in Acts chapter 10
No one is baptized in the Holy Spirit today. It happened in NT biblical times when the apostles were alive since it was by their hands that the Spirit was manifested. Pay attention to scripture and context. No miraculous gifts of the Spirit exist today, not tongues, prophecy, healing, or anything.

1 Cor 13:8 gifts have ceased. All gifts. Don't confuse the indwelling of the Holy Ghost with miraculous gifts and manifestations which is what you're referring to by the Spirit falling on someone and thereby making a gift be manifested.

1 Corinthians 13:8 Says "Gifts will cease = will cease, NOT have ceased"

We are told by the HOLY SPIRIT exactly when the Gifts cease = Beginning with 1 Corinthians chapter 1 and finishing in chapter 14

as i made mention of afore and just minutes ago on another thread
People cliam many things , beleive many things
But the SHEEP CLAIM JESUS CHRIST and THEY BELEIVE HIS WORDS .
AS IF the baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT ceased with the apostels , Folks are capable of believing so many dreadful things indeed .
But THE SHEEP BELEIVE ONE THING , known as TRUTH and not fables

There is not a cessationist on the planet with the complete word of God.
Maybe read this instead of those weaklings that are "teaching" you.

Acts 6
3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Huh????
Men not apostles???
I wonder why they laid hands on them????
Huh???? Miracles done through Stephen who was not an Apostle??????
Look man
You are hanging around the wrong camp

Cast off those shackles those religios men have bound you with.
I have shown you truth via God's word

I can promise you those "teachers" will stunt you and mislead you as I have demonstrated.

Exactly .
And it sure do seem some folks have zero knowledge about THE GIFTS and their purpose .
WAS IT NOT FOR THE EDIFYING OF THE BODY OF BELEIVERS , AS WELL as the futherance of THE GOSPEL .
SO i say to that other fellow
WHEN DID THAT CEASE . WHEN were we ever told THE GIFTS meant for edifying the BODY were gonna
cease and when were we told the preaching of the gospel would cease .
Nothing ceases , TILL AFTER THE LORD DO COME .
THEN we wont have such a need , WE WILL BE WITH HIM and all the saved ones too .
SO no need for the gospel to then be preached either .
BUT as you know and by grace i KNOW , THAT DAY HAS NOT OCCURRED . NOT YET .......
but tick tock time is running out

Read CLOSELY AND CAREFULLY the account in Acts 9 and Acts 22. Read it all. Below are extracts that pertain to this discussion.

Acts 9:12

12And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

Acts 9:17-18

17And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. 18And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Acts 22:12-13

12And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there, 13Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.
When will you edit out the things left out of the gospels?
Remember ,if a dynamic is left out of one of the gospel accounts, it must be cast down.
Do the people you hang with know the task before them?
To edit the gospel stories to be consistent?

Cessationism is deadly .
But with a heavy heart i must say SO TOO IS THE CHARASMETIC NAR REALM .
We got serious problems in the building known as and often called Christendom .
They go either far right into cessationism , or go far left into delusion and often man made man produced miracles
And those who produce such miracles DO THE ONE THING GOD warned about .
TWIST HIS WORDS and cause this people through their dreams , visions and miracles TO FOLLOW the WRONG ONE .
SO lets do a real simple summary of this .
The GIFTS have not ceased , and beware even of those who can often perform miracles , or have a dream or visoin
they say Even come to pass and yet all along they was DECIEVING this people .
REMEMBER deut chapter thirteen verses one through seven .
And remember this , and he decieved those people by means of the miracles he had power to do in the sight of the beast .
THIS PEOPLE perish for lack of knowledge . I am highly troubled and deeply worried and very concerned
for this last , and yeah i said LAST , generation . Cause the signs have never been clearer as to what days WE IN my friend .

And when is that?
BEGINNING & DURATION in Chapter 1

1Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

2To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, 6even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord

And when is that?
We got to whens for that answer .
THE FIRST . WHEN THE LORD COMETH for His peoples and we are forever with Him .
Now as far as the second when as to when that will occur , SORRY BUD but i aint false and dont set dates
BUT i will say this , TAKE A GOOD LONG look at chirstendom that now merges with the wicked and unrepentant
with false religoins , ALL Beleiving in a lie that has promised them this is the way for PEACE n safety .
THEN remember these words well .
FOR WHEN they shall say PEACE N SAFETY , It aint coffee and hugs that come upon them , ITS SUDDEN destruction .
AND let all remember this too
WHEN the solution for peace n safety HAS TOTALLY REMOVED the dire need to repent and beleive on CHRIST ,
cause THAT DIVIDES , WELL KNOW THAT SOLUTION is OF ANTI CHRIST
and through his peace destroys many . Ever get the feeling a strong delusion cloaked
as though tis love and of GOD , but be of satan , Has taken many captive now to a lie .

I can see some cessationist actually reading his Bible, and seeing that Steven was not an apostle, and yet did many miracles, and received the Holy Spirit via the laying on of hands. And thst dude's hair standing on end, like an electric shock, and him were running screaming in terror..." no no no god....not the power for today"!!!!!

Lol
