And we have the prophetic word made more sure. You will do well to pay attention to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 First of all you must understand this, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 because no prophecy ever came by the impulse of man, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God."
This is a reference to 2 Peter 1:16-21 which is a call to follow God's Word because it is inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Walking in to so called orthodoxy (today's orthodox church) will in fact lead you away from the teaching of the Lord in to the darkened wisdom of man dressed up to apper to be God's wisdom
2 Peter 1:16-21
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
The prophecy being spoken of is what God has already said in scripture.
Revelation 19:10
the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (what Jesus, THE Word of God says)
Hebrews 1:1,2
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 3:15-17
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Peter 1:3,4
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Jesus said the Holy Ghost would lead us in to ALL Truth (John 16:13),
and Jesus said God's Word IS Truth (John 17:17)
Romans 8:14
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. (which is always based on what God has said in His Word
What if the early church worshipped this way?
The "early" church did some things not of God, that were not taught by the Lord.
It sounds like you've already been tricked by the enemy and that's too bad.
It was "us and our Bible" for years, and it's funny how much pressure we got to find a church. We did, but ironically we're now being pushed to be churchless because its not a Protestant one.
Too bad you are allowing the enemy to "push" you in to anything rather than being led by the Holy Spirit based on what God has already said in His Word.
Anytime there is "pushing" going on, that's how you know the devil is behind it.
Just ignore these people in your life that are "pushing" and walk with the Lord instead.
It seems like you have fear, anxiety, and worry about all this which is not of the Lord
