**Aunty Jane said--The fact that you believe that being “born again” is something that takes place “on earth”, tells me that you have no idea what it is, or what it means.
It isn’t some mystical personal experience…it is a supernatural transformation that happens upon resurrection…..necessary because mortal human beings cannot enter heaven….they have to be transformed into spirit beings to inhabit a spiritual realm…for some this is an awakening to new life in a new body (those who were “sleeping”)…..for others who are alive at Jesus manifestation, it will be an instantaneous ‘changing’ “in the twinkling of an eye”…..”the dead will be raised imperishable”…. Paul wrote….1 Cor 15:50

See that? Paul’s words….and apparently he is speaking to you personally….LOL

Aunty Jane,
That is very mistaken. A believer is born again on earth. Do not marvel at this! Allow me to provide the verses that will show you ~~ Take your time and go over them.

1 John 5:1- Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.

John 1:12-13-But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

1 Peter 1:3 -Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1 Peter 1:23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

1 John 4:7- Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

Titus 3:5- He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

1 John 5:18- We know that no one who has been born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

John 3:4-8, 10-12 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” 5Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7“Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
“Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things? 11“Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony. 12“If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

1 Cor 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

2 Cor 5:17
- Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Eph 2:4-5- But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Romans 6:3-4 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

Col 2:13
When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,

1 Cor 6:11 -Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Ro 8:15-16- For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,

There are many more. There is no such thing as a Christian who isn't born again. The title, Born Again Christian is redundant. It's not a special thing just for the 144K as you have been taught. It is essential to being a new creation- otherwise we are simply just carnal flesh. We can not please God in our flesh. It is by His spirit that He saves us. It is the only way.

I know that JWs don't do this but it is what is needed by all--

Step one-- is to truly accept the forgiveness of your sins that only Jesus provides by paying for your personal sins at Calvary.
There is no other way. There is no such thing as paying your own sin debt off by dying physically. That is not forgiveness- it is not a debt that you can pay to become sinless. Death of sinners is getting what is deserved.- the pay that you receive.
ONLY Jesus' sinless death atones for all of our sins but you must believe that.
The gift is not like that- no one deserves this gift- it is undeserved kindness aka grace.
It is given, but you must humble yourself enough to accept God's gift. That is believing God.
I know it is hard after what you have been taught!! But this is THE TRUTH. Test it with scripture and see.

Luke 11:13--“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

If you would like a very long list of scriptures that teach that Jesus' death paid for your personal sins I am happy to provide it for you. Just say the word.

If Jesus death paid for our sins as you think, then why does each individual die and pay their own wages of sin? Why does one have to repent and turn around to get sins blotted out if Jesus paid for them as you believe?( Acts 3:19)

Hi Keiw,
This thread is about JW teaching that being born again is not something that happens on earth.
Have you read the scriptures I posted?
It's a good thing and a godly thing to test all that you are taught with the scriptures.
This is another very clear false teaching of the watchtower- it's also a very dangerous thing to have this wrong.
You really need to decide if you trust in man or the scriptures. Would you like to discuss this? It's very important.

I will reply to the sidetrack question but the thread will not be sidetracked here further if you dont mind.
Acts 3:19 why does that confuse you? repenting of sins is taught all throughout the NT. Initially, we don't clean up all of our sins then go to Christ for forgiveness. NO. Jws will have a person repent by stopping birthdays etc etc agreeing to WTower rules and never going to Christ for forgiveness of their sins. Righteousness in the flesh is no righteousness at all. You must be spirit led and born again.

Repentance begins in the heart and is a gift of kindness from God that begins in the heart when we hear the gospel preached. We hear the gospel about the love of Christ and are moved in the HEART about our sins and our own need for forgiveness, and in the heart one is penitent and accepts the grace of God in Christ at Calvary.
Forgiveness isn't a license to continue to sin! The Holy Spirit convict us of sin and helps us to live an obedient life. We can not do it alone. It is a work of God in us through the spirit. This is called sanctification.
I can list for you about 30 verses that show us that Jesus died for our personal sins to be forgiven.- If your sins are not forgiven in Christ then shouldn't you be sacrificing animals?
Ro 2:4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?
2 Tim 2:25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
Acts 11:18 When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life
Luke 24 -And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem

I just finished addressing your other question over here--

Yes repentance gets sin blotted out( Acts 3:19) and turn around= stop doing the sin.

ARE believers born again while on EARTH?

Your question in your Thread Title, and what you ask above, IS A CONTRADICTION.

In your Title you ask if being born again is an 'earthy thing'.

But above, you ask if believers are born again 'while on EARTH', which is a different question.

1. Being 'born again' per Jesus in John 3 is a NOT AN EARTHY THING. That question ain't about location, it is instead pointing to a fleshy event, which being 'born again' is NOT A FLESH EVENT. Being 'born again' in the Greek actually means 'born from above', which points to ones spirit inside their flesh being born from above by The Spirit. Jesus made the distinction between that which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of The Spirit is spirit. He made clear the dividing line of that.

2. But your question are believers born again while on earth, yes, of course. Hearing and believing The Gospel, and being baptized in Christ happens ON THE EARTH. And that is how The Spirit is imparted to the new believer, either at hearing The Gospel, or at hearing The Gospel and being baptized.

I understand why you have a problem with the title. If you read what Aunty Jane said which is what prompted my thread it may make more sense. Please see my OP.

I edited the title. ( for your sake :)) Either way Jws know what I meant since they deny born again as taking place on earth. Jane said it is "a supernatural transformation that happens upon resurrection"

**Aunty Jane said--The fact that you believe that being “born again” is something that takes place “on earth”, tells me that you have no idea what it is, or what it means.
