His family announced the Pentecostal's passing on July 1st.
He'd suffered a heart attack at home in late June. He didn't regain consciousness.

I remember him for the repeated sex scandals back in the 80's.

My sympathies to his family for their loss.

He knows the truth now. May God have mercy on his soul.

Truly.
He never regained consciousness. He just went on home.
Very sad.
I looked around and realized he has left quite a legacy.

His cousin, musician Jerry Lee Lewis, passed in 2022. Now their a duo in Heaven.

Thank God that charlatan is gone!

He brought much reproach upon the Body of Christ and should have removed himself from public ministry since he was no longer qualified for public ministry after his kinky sex garbage became public.

He may have been able to be saved once again, but living in sin by continuing his public ministry makes it doubtful he'll be with the Lord. Once one fails to meet the biblical standards for ministry and then continues in public ministry, that's sinful behavior.

Yes indeed - a legacy of shame, sin, and sexual perversion!

I like how you think you can even say it's "doubtful" he'll be with the Lord as if that makes even a modicum of difference to anyone but you. LMBO

Well, even with his continued and ongoing sinful behavior he has a far better chance at getting in to Heaven than those catholics :Laughingoutloud:

And far better than you for actually trying to figure who has the better odds for getting to heaven. The whole plank/splinter thing is completely lost on you isn't it? Utter buffoonery. It's fascinating how much like a child you think and behave.

You shall be judged the same way as you judge others.

What a shame. From the heart the fingers key.
A real shame.

Dang. I'm guessing you don't have a lot of catholic friends, maybe no friends at all. Sad.
I'll leave the judgment up to God, but you do you man.

Yes, praise the Lord! I advocate that people turn from their sin and start walking with the Lord as God's Word teaches.

According to God's Word, Jimmy ceased meeting the biblical qualification for ministry when his sexual adultery and perversion became public.

After that he lived in sinful behavior by continuing his ministry even though he no longer met the biblical qualification for ministry

Don't worry, if I start living in sin like Jimmy did I'll say the same thing about me that I just said about him.

None to worry though because I'm not going to be following in the sinful foot steps of Jimmy

He will judge people according to what He has said in His Word.

Just because I'm repeating what He said in His Word doesn't mean I'm the One doing the judging.

None to worry, I do have friends but I don't get along with catholics because when around them it's hard to not start correcting them concerning their heretical ridiculous fake religious junk.

I have a family member that is catholic who likes to get drunk as many catholics do and they don't like being around me because I'm trying to teach them how not to end up in hell. But they are doing their best to go there which is why they stick with their catholicism

These words will come up in your face on the day of judgement. I would repent if I were you.

You should do a study sometime on the biblical qualifications for ministry

Jimmy was qualified early on, but due to his very public sin that brought much reproach upon the Body of Christ, he was no longer meeting the biblical qualifications for ministry but he decided to ignore what God's Wo9rd teaches about qualifications for ministry and continue in ministry.

That way he could bring even more reproach upon the Body of Christ!

God has people calling out sin as opposed to making excuses for sin so somebody needs to warn people!

God forgive your indifference to holding any sympathy for this loss or the heartbreak of his family. May God also forgive you thinking to play God in your self righteous assumptions that lead you to think you can judge Pastor Swaggart at all.

When you are incapable of grace, please at least don't continue to derail this thread.

Your sin has been called out repeatedly but again the plank/splinter think is utterly lost on you.

I believe the first qualification for ministry should be love for those to whom you are ministering. And, a very good understanding of who WE were, before Christ came into our hearts.

Having said that, love is not rude.

Please accept my sincere apology for not showing you the same kind of love God has shown to me. I was mean and I'm sorry.

I was sinning when I typed my response to you, just now I repented, with tears even, though that is really none of your business.

Had I died in my sleep last night still unrepentant, would I have gone to hell my friend?

Obedience is definitely a requirement for salvation. I agree with you.

But its not our obedience that saves us, it is Christ's. He was faithful all the way to to the cross. Christ is my Salvation. That's in the word you know? Christ is my Salvation .

1 Timothy 3:1-13
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desires a good work.
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife (hookers don't count!)

Titus 1:6-9
If any be blameless, the husband of one wife (hookers don't count!), having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God

Jimmy was not blameless as his sexual perversion was exposed to the entire world causing the Body of Christ to be the laughing stock of the world causing many to see Christianity as a meaningless joke just like all other religions are.

Having said that, love is not rude.

Love speaks the Truth like Jesus and His Apostles did

Many who reject the Truth claim those speaking the Truth are rude because they choose to reject Truth

They should stop paying attention to those speaking Truth if they don't want to hear Truth.

Please accept my sincere apology for not showing you the same kind of love God has shown to me. I was mean and I'm sorry.

No need to apologize to me for anything - it's like water off a duck's back with me man!

But its not our obedience that saves us, it is Christ's.

Well there ya go than! Free to live in sin and still claim to be saved.

This is what all the OSAS adherents claim.

God's Word most definitely DOES Speak Against the Eternal Security of the believer

Galatians 6:7-8 (see Gen 8:22)
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

God gave man free will... if man chooses to turn and walk away from the Lord, God will let them do so.

Romans 1:28
they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do what ought not to be done

The gifts and callings of God are without repentance which means God cannot violate our free will and save us anyway IF we choose to go back to our sin which is living in darkness. In God there is NO darkness. (1 John 1:5)

This is a major biblical truth the OSAS crowd always explains away or denies is simply this... God is NOT mocked, what we sow is what we reap - if we sow to the flesh we shall of the flesh reap corruption. (Gal 6:7,8)

In Gal 6:8, the word corruption is...

G5356
fthora from G5351; decay, i.e. ruin -- corruption, destroy, perish.

G5351
strengthened from phthio (to pine or waste); properly, to shrivel or wither, i.e. to spoil or to ruin, by moral influences, to deprave): -- corrupt (self), defile, destroy.

If one claims we DO reap corruption when we sin, then they are admitting they do not believe OSAS / Eternal security doctrine (and sadly many of their friends will forsake them!).... and if one claims we DO NOT reap what we sow, then according to Gal 6:7, that would be mocking God!

Adam and Eve were given eternal life by the Lord when He created them... but when they sinned against God they became corrupt and died spiritually and became separated from God. So Gal 6:7,8 is quite the quandary, quite the state of uncertainty and perplexity for the adherents of OSAS doctrine.

Sir, I don't believe anyone here is preaching that unrepentant sinners go to heaven. Well, maybe a few, but they are outliers.

David, for a season, was an unrepentant murderer, and yet, a man after Gods heart.

God knew that David would eventually repent, and even sent the prophet to open His eyes. During his sinful rebellion, David was completely safe in the care of His Father.

Emphasis on Father.

My children loved me very much, they honored and respected me as their Father.
They loved me because I first loved them.
As a Father, I can not think of a single crime any of my children could have ever committed that would cause me to take punitive actions against them. Or to love them any less. Because, they are in fact, my children.

We are Gods children.

God is not in the abortion business.

I work for a living so no need to call me "sir"

David, for a season, was an unrepentant murderer, and yet, a man after Gods heart.

While he was living in sin he very obviously was NOT a man after God's own heart.

He was spiritually dead during times he was living in sin.

During his sinful rebellion, David was completely safe in the care of His Father.

There ya go, the wisdom of man that teaches people they can live in sin and still be in right standing with the Lord.

The OSAS folks love it so they can get their sin on every now and again ya know.

They'll even tell ya "I'm a sinner" beaming with pride as they say it!

God is not in the abortion business.

No He is not, but just like the prodigal son - when His children choose to reject Him and walk away from Him, He allows them to do so.

God created man in His Image meaning mad has free will just like the Lord does.

If man sows to the flesh, man reaps corruption - God cannot be mocked.

It is in fact MOCKING GOD to claim man can sin and not reap corruption
