What do you think about a Christian (says they are) that always seems to take offense, seems unforgiving?

Doesn't 1 Corinthians 13 say love takes no offense?

I think it means the person needs to grow spiritually....be willing to yield to the Holy Spirit in forgiving others.

Thank you for the question.

In Matthew 18: 15-17—Jesus says that if someone in a (Christian) community is causing harm, we have a responsibility to draw it to his/her attention and persuade the person to change.

Do you see this happening? If so, remember to engage with love!

Blessings.

seems unforgiving?

They would be in very BIG trouble and someone should try to help them.

Matthew 6:15
If ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Luke 6:37
Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Their salvation is in jeopardy if they refuse to forgive others.

The person gets offended easily when people try to give some counsel.

Debp,

What do you think should be done? Leave them to their own?

Jesus stated "Kick off the dust of your feet if someone doesn't listen to your message." To his disciples in that day. Does that still apply? Idk it's up to the individual to decide.

I don't think that means we stop hoping for their improvement and Yahavah working in and through their life.

I agree that with some people that you need to leave them in the Lord's hands. Pray for them too.

Yes that is right~! Everyone is responsible for themselves. I do not know why people try to make it a group collective effort to continue after the fact a person may not go the way you think they should go, I believe Yahavah can handle those people.

Write an anonymous letter and mail it to him.

With the name of the sender not being part of the letter, he won't have anyone to be mad at and will hopefully pay attention to the content of the letter itself.

Jesus is Lord!

But what if the "other guy" is a non-Christian? Surely it's fine to hold grudges against non-Christians? :phew:

If you sow unforgiveness - you shall reap unforgiveness.

Refusing to forgive others will result in your sins not being forgiven according to Jesus - See Matthew 6:15, and Luke 6:37

Surely Jesus wouldn't lie about this, would He? He did not say it's kool to not forgiven unbelievers, did He?

One cannot stand before the Lord and say "Lord, please forgive me - but not that guy over there! I want him to go to hell and be damned"

So, if someone on the Internet says something that makes me think they aren't really a Christian at all... it's NOT ok to put them on blast? Even if they're, like... wrong?

I'd agree, the person is likely immature, and hasn't yet seen the truth about themself.

Much love!

Correcting someone is not refusing to forgive them.

Not sure what you mean by putting them on "blast" - are you going to try to bomb them or something like the Muslims do?

If you are referring to putting them on ignore, that doesn't mean you cannot and should not forgive them

Now, there one entity we do not have to forgive and that's satan.

I had someone follow me around for a while telling I had to forgive satan and turned out he's on of those guys that think satan and all the demons are going to be forgiven by the Lord and allowed back in to Heaven

The boy was definitely a few fries short of a happy meal crazy.gif

As do those who easily swallow and post you tube clips of perceived 'enemies'
