✨ Key Benefits of Personal Boundaries

  • Self-Respect: You affirm your needs and values, which boosts confidence and self-worth.
  • Emotional Balance: Boundaries help prevent resentment, guilt, or emotional exhaustion from constantly overextending yourself.
  • Better Relationships: When both sides know each other’s limits, relationships tend to be more respectful, honest, and healthy.
  • Freedom & Control: You get to choose how you spend your time and energy, and with whom.
  • Reduced Stress: Saying “no” when you need to—without apology—can protect your mental health and prevent burnout.
  • Growth & Independence: Boundaries let you nurture your goals and personal space without being overly influenced by others.
Think of boundaries not as walls, but as guardrails—they guide your interactions and keep you from swerving off your own path.
I hate, gaslighting people.

People are allowed to use the functions of the board, for benefit.

Setting boundaries online isn’t about being cold or distant—it’s about protecting your well-being while staying connected. Here’s why those digital lines matter:

Benefits of Online Boundaries

  • Emotional Safety: You control what kind of energy enters your digital space. Boundaries help you avoid negativity, manipulation, or emotional overwhelm.
  • Time Management: Without limits, people can message you around the clock. Boundaries protect your time and help prevent burnout.
  • Privacy Protection: You get to choose what personal info you share—and with whom. That’s powerful in a world where oversharing is common.
  • Mental Clarity: Cutting out chaotic interactions or constant notifications lets you stay focused and feel more at peace.
  • Respect & Empowerment: Communicating boundaries teaches others how to treat you—and shows you value yourself.
Whether it’s saying no to late-night DMs, muting toxic accounts, or being selective about who sees your stories—it’s all about cultivating a healthier experience online.

Here are some Bible verses that may be helpful to consider regarding personal boundaries:
  • Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) states, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it". This verse emphasizes protecting your inner self, including thoughts, emotions, and intentions, as they shape actions and character.
  • Psalm 16:6 says, "The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance". This passage suggests that boundaries, when established and followed according to God's will, can lead to positive outcomes and a sense of well-being.
  • Proverbs 25:17 (ESV) advises, "Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor's house, lest he have his fill of you and hate you". This verse speaks to respecting others' space and not overstaying your welcome, which can be interpreted as setting a boundary on your interactions.
  • Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV) lists the fruit of the Spirit, including self-control, which is essential for setting and maintaining boundaries.

In the context of setting boundaries in relationships, consider these verses:
  • Proverbs 22:10 (NIV) states, "Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out, and quarreling and abuse will cease". This verse suggests that removing negative influences, such as those who mock or cause conflict, can help establish healthier interactions.
  • Matthew 7:6 (NIV) reminds us, "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs." This passage can be understood as a directive to not share your vulnerabilities or resources with those who will not appreciate or respect them, essentially setting boundaries around your emotional and personal well-being.
  • 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV) says, "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." This verse highlights the importance of aligning thoughts and actions with God's will, even when faced with resistance or unhealthy influences.
  • Proverbs 22:5 (ESV) says, "Thorns and snares are in the way of the crooked; whoever guards his soul will keep far from them." This verse encourages guarding your inner self, which includes setting boundaries to avoid unhealthy situations or relationships that could compromise your spiritual or emotional well-being.
  • Ephesians 5:3 (NIV) emphasizes the importance of purity and instructs, "But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints". This verse suggests establishing clear boundaries against behaviors that compromise your spiritual and moral values.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

People have the choice to welcome God into their lives—or to turn away and reject His presence entirely.

Revelation describes a Kingdom of Heaven: some enter in, while others remain outside.

It’s a matter of choice. That’s the simple truth.

It never rains here in late June, July and August.
By Sept the trees are turning brown.
Not good.
We were in a drought last year, Now parts of us are getting too much, and parts of us are not seeing any.. its been an odd weather pattern in the Ohio Valley area

lol,

You started it Bro.

I think we have been here before. If your going to try to attack someone, or gaslight them like you did me (making it appear I was the one doing something) then learn to take your lumps

again, sometimes its better to just back off. and stay out of other peoples conversations.

People have the choice to welcome God into their lives—or to turn away and reject His presence entirely.

Revelation describes a Kingdom of Heaven: some enter in, while others remain outside.

The problem is salvation is NOT dual covenant between God and man. It is much like the Abrahamic covenant, where God walked down the middle. and told abraham, I WIll do this (and asked for nothing in return)

Abraham was saved by this promise. as are we (romans 4)

Rom 4: 13 For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, 15 because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.

16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

This is our salvation.

Not of works of righteousness which we did. but by His mercy

Abraham lived in a pagan society. Many believed he was pagan himself. Yet God called him out. rescued him, and made his name great. Because Abraham trusted him.

This is salvation. Like God offered Abraham a promise. he offers us a promised. based on that promise he made Abraham (in you shall all nations of the world be blessed) His promise being, I come to offer you my GIFT of life. Come to me, and I will give you rest. Come to me, and you will never hunger or thirst. Come to me and I will give you life..

Just like with Abraham, where God put Abraham in a deep sleep. and he took the oath to carry out his promise. He did the same for us. Us being unable to save ourself. or make any promise (because there was nothing we could do) he walked down the middle by hanging on a cross.

That is what salvation is. If we, like Abraham, Believe, God gives us his gift. Just like God gave Abraham the gift. And as Paul said. that gift is not only eternal. but it is irrevocable

Our salvation can not be revoked under any circumstance. because Like Abraham, we were put to sleep (dead) while God hung on the cross. signing his name on our birth certificate with his blood.

He does not rip this certificate out because we may not like things he does. or we do not trust him in areas, or something happened. and we are mad at him. and we like many humans do. retaliate by doing something that is not in our best interest.

He keeps his promise. no matter what, Because it is HIS reputation on the line, we are already dead. we have nothing to offer.

as far as a person who claimed they were saved. but now totally reject God and deny him outright (antichrists)

John said they were never of us. They were never saved. God signed their birth certificate and offered it to them (in spite of Calvin's claim to the contrary) but they rejected the offer of life. They were make believers. and the fact, as john said, they departed exposed the fact they were never saved (of us)

Do you teach on these forums that it's OK to mess up?
Do you teach that living a life of sin is OK since one will be saved NO MATTER WHAT?

THIS attitude is what I'm addressing here.
You may not fall into this category.

I always ask this simple question....
and sometimes the reply goes on for paragraphs because it is not accepted.

Here's the question:
IS IT NECESSARY TO OBEY GOD AFTER ONE BECOMES BORN AGAIN?

I say YES.
What do you say?
Some seem to think volume of content makes them right

Works complete salvation. If faith needs completion it is not sufficient

Correct.
Faith, without works, is a dead faith.
Seems simple enough...

James 2:26
26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

No

I was saved ( a completed action) By grace through faith not of works. so I can not boast.

Works can PROVE salvation (see James 2) but we are not saved by works

if we could be saved by works. why did God come to earth and die

why did he say it is finished (literally paid in full)

The author of hebrews helps

it is by one offering we were perfected forever (saved completely) who are we? those who are being sanctified (here is where works completes or matures. or grows a child of God. to make them more like Christ.)

but we must remember, Gods requirement is perfection. Since we will never be perfect here on earth (sinless) we will never be completely sanctified. so our works can still never complete our salvation (if they were required)

it will be when we are glorified that we are finally fully sanctified.

again, Salvation is based on the Abraham covenant, and it is a non conditional covenant, even our faith is called a work of God.

Yes

so if you claim to have faith, but if your a hearer only and not a doer. can faith save you? No

James said if I claim to have faith and do not even have one work.. I believe you and I and everyone who calls themselves a believer would admit, that person is not saved.

But James did NOT say works are required. he would contradict paul in romans 4.

Rom 4:
4 What then shall we say that Abraham our father[a] has found according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:

7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”

Those who use James to try to insert works to grace. have james diametrically apposed to paul in romans 4.

and here we have it

once again @godgrace shows who her faith in, It is Not God, who keeps her. it is her who keeps herself.

She wants to water down the law. and make it appear she keeps it

she will not be happy when she finds out she has not kept it.
It appears she's turning the tables now and accusing us of committing to her own behavior.

It's a shame that we witness those whose sole motive appears to be hoarding Christians here with their posts that corrupt Gods word.

I don't see it as a matter of wrong thinking, bad teaching through charlatan preachers, or mistaken opinion. Those would be open to correction.
And they wouldn't mock the truth in Scripture that we share in an effort to lead them to God's actual word.

There's one here that is promoting a doctrine of their own invention. Christ has nothing to do with it. They have zero respect for what is the gospel and corrupt it consistently.

Where do these people come from?

True.
They believe in the church to lead them to and keep them in Christ.

What I meant when asking, where do these people come from is,why do they make a hobby of corrupting the Bible on a Protestant forum?

I don't know that they're actually practicing Catholics. If they are their church failed.
Imagine how much time would be spent in the confessional for as much energy they've expended in trolling Protestants.

Good for you Matthew.
Got a wife?
Children?
Friends?

You don't worry about where they'll spend eternity?
Great.
I envy you.
I tend to worry about EVERYONE since I believe in an afterlife.
Sooner or later you might want to realize you are trying to reach a Humanist who thinks Jesus was a swell guy.

Not everyone who joins these type forums are actually Christian.

Whatever they are off the computer, they're certainly suffering as a person.

I'll pray for them. I won't feed their hunger to continue
sinning here though.

God has no mother.

Some think not obeying God is no important matter.
Some think they could live in sin and still be saved.
Some teach that it's impossible to lose salvation when Jesus Himself stated this.

After so many verses and scripture...
IF I believed in OSAS,,,,I'd pause and rethink my position.

But even the words in the bible, spoken by Jesus, Paul, James and Peter will not change the mind of those that
have been fed lies and that have accepted them.

As Paul said:
2 Timothy 4:3
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,

1 Timothy 4:1
1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

I give up, it's hopeless.

I once was OSAS because :

1. There is Scripture to support that view.
2. And I believed those passages.
3. And once believed, it feels that way.

And that feeling is very powerful, feeling secure, enduring was easy, losing the faith simply is impossible.

Having said that, it's important that I still feel secure (saved) because Scripture states it, but after carefully scrutinizing debates about OSAS (such as this giant one) and the anti OSAS Scripture passages that came with it those can not and should not be ignored because it feels different. Scripture should rule over my feelings and I don't have to like it, it's not necessary to understand it because it feels like an impossibility, no, I just believe what is stated. Note to self, else it's selfish stupid pride. Instead I have put my trust in the Lord He will keep me safe.

trying to convince people who trust in the promises of God. yes. it is hopeless

3. And once believed, it feels that way.

when you have a God who has shown you the truth of your plight of eternity (death) who shows you the total inability of you being able to save yourself. and shows you that he and only he can save you. and he did it by dying on a cross. And put in faith receive that gift.

It is impossible to lose that faith. Thats why John said they were never of us.. You do not stop believe something like this

now trusting God in areas of our life. this is easy to do.. thats what growing in christ is, learning to trust God in everything

But our eternity does not depend on us trusting him in every area of our life. if it did. no one would be saved
Having said that, it's important that I still feel secure (saved) because Scripture states it, but after carefully scrutinizing debates about OSAS (such as this giant one) and the anti OSAS Scripture passages that came with it those can not and should not be ignored because it feels different. anti OSAS passage?

what passage denies the eternity of the gospel and our salvation?

You can never have any security if you think salvation can be lost. You can think you can, but your fooling yourself.
