The scriptures clearly reveal a transition took place at the beginning of Christ and the New Covenant away from the Jews and towards the gentiles. Acts records this as does various church letters. The apostles went first to the Jews, then when rejected, they went to the gentiles.

Of course jews and gentiles who reject Christ are both headed to the same destruction.

The ones written about in the NT were part of a culture that was a Theocracy!
They (like the Muslims) thought they only knew God.
Jews today are mostly secular in thinking.
