That is how ANYONE gets saved.
Unless you are believing that repeating verses is salvation.

The Jailer met Met Jesus.
Doctrine followed salvation.

Are you saying doctrine precedes salvation?
[Rom 10:17 KJV] 17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

…to give them meat in due season? Truly I think “to give them meat in due season” is significant.
1 Corinthians 3:1-3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. [2] I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto you were not able to bear it, neither yet now are you able. [3] For you are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are you not carnal, and walk as men?

Point for sharing this is …what is due season? To give meat? And what is the milk Paul fed them? It wasn’t until recently I noticed:
1 Peter 2:1-3Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, [2] and like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow (Galatians 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you) in respect to salvation, [3] if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
[Jhn 21:15 KJV] 15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

It’s a long passage so I can’t quote all of it, but the above makes me think of
Luke 22:25-34 KJV
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. [26] But you shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that does serve. [27] For whether is greater, he that sits at meat, or he that serves? is not he that sits at meat? but I am among you as he that serves. 28] You are they which have continued with me in my temptations. [29] And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father has appointed unto me; [30] That you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. [31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: [32] But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you are converted, strengthen your brethren. [33] And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death. [34] And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that you shalt thrice deny that you know me.

Paul isnt saying if you dont keep in memory what I preach then you will go to hell

As far Jesus Christs death burial and resurrection goes Paul says,

1 Cr 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you,
unless ye have believed in vain.

But if you do not keep in memory what he preached (His death, burial and resurrection) and so have believed in vain wouldn't it be similar to what he says in 1Cr 15-18 where he says,

1Cr 15:17-18
And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

Where your faith is actually in vain and yet in your sins. In otherwords do you see these agreeing along the same lines perhaps

Canola I think haha

what I mean it is just oil it doesnt represent anything .....the whole parable is to illustrate the principal of reediness

Well, I thought a little humor would help push that in another direction, I failed.

Hey Truly
I am not clear on what you are saying .
I think we can have a back and forth discussion but there comes a point where a topic can be exhausted and if neither one changes position what is left to discuss
please correct me if needed

You know Doug, you typically lay out the reasons why you believe something according to the scriptures, and although we do not always agree, you can be more fun for me to enter a discussion with because you laden your posts with scripture. Whereas I love studying how things tie together, and so you typcally give me alot to look at in your threads, even if I end up detangling it (according to how I might connect the same), its a practice I somewhat love doing without much of the debating. But here you are just giving me, "ok, whatever you believe Truly" which also is nice too, but you will typically lay out your beliefs utilizing the scripture and you are just not doing that here thats all.

I think I forgot to read the first page, maybe you did, I have to look.

I have made reference to these three parables concerning the kingdom of heaven in my reply

Mat 13:46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind

Mat 13:23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

Mat 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

How would you come to the conclusion that Jesus is mistaken about anything at all
I never said that or implied that I think that.

I asked if Jesus was mistaken when He Described the foolish virgins as believers?

In Every parable, if you cast down the components, and say they are meaningless, you basically destroy the parable.

Oil represents the Holy Spirit.

Right Truly 1Co 15:12 KJV] 12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
There were those saying there is no resurrection...........................so Paul was telling them to keep in memory that Christ rose from the dead..............they would then be saved from this false teaching

Revisiting. I realize everyone has an opinion. Speaking of feeding the lambs or to strengthen your brothers. Regarding the 10 virgins which all slept. When they awaken five have no oil and ask for the wise to share their oil. I’m uncertain because I used to think it was not as Christ who sought not his own but for that of others, becoming poor so (we) who are poor can be rich. To me that sounds nothing like the five wise who said they could not give because then there would no be enough for “us and you”.

It depends on what wisdom the five are called “wise” for. (Imo). There are two kinds of wisdom. That which is devilish James 3:13-16 Who is a wise man and endued (to have oil?) with knowledge(if Christ) among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. [14] But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. [15] This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. [16] For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
^ just sharing my perspective; right or wrong. The way the ten virgin parable is usually interpreted does indeed bring forth glorying in “I am one of the wise” and “they are fools”. The usual interpretation lacks “meekness of wisdom”. Instead, it comes with boasting and looking down on those who lack and are weak, without that which is needful. It would be no different that a hoarder having a stash of food and water and someone thirsty and hungry come to beg they thirst and hunger …and the hoarder says if I give unto you there will not be enough for you and me also. Which we interpret as good because they should have prepared.

How are those wise…edibles with wisdom? Is it that wisdom which is devilish or is it this “wisdom” James 3:17-18 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. [18] And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

I do think (and I might be crazy) but I think is the five who are wise is endured with the wisdom that is from above whereby they tell the foolish to go buy from those who sell in the marketplace …their wisdom is the same as Jesus words in
Luke 16:9 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.
what will happen when they return from making friends with the unrighteous wealth and failing ? Will you receive them unto eternal dwellings?

The oil doesnt represent anything............to be prepared for his coming they had to have enough oil to keep their lamps burning.............the foolish did not buy oil and weren't prepared

Yes lots of opinions' some good others not so much
Maybe the wise didnt give them of their oil because this parable is about being prepared to enter the Davidic kingdom and each believer had to prepare themselves to enter. Not every believer will enter the kingdom..................[Mat 8:11-12 KJV] 11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Luke 16:9 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.
Is still right there in the parables. Was it also being prepared?

Honestly I am not sure about this passage but I think its about being faithful to be rewarded in the kingdom..................[Luk 16:12 KJV] 12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

I am still not clear........did Jesus appear to you?
Look

You could care less about my testimony.

I already told you I met Jesus similar to Paul.
PAUL DID NOT SEE JESUS.

You are probing my experience for one reason.
To muddy it up with your salvation formulas.

Let me ask you this …Do you see any similarities between:

Matthew 25:9-11 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go you rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. [10] And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. [11] Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Luke 16:9 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.

? 1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

The oil doesnt represent anything............to be prepared for his coming they had to have enough oil to keep their lamps burning.............the foolish did not buy oil and weren't prepared
Then the "gold" in the 7 letters was wasted effort also.
To take the position that in a parable you can change up components, and belligerently cast other components down, tells me you are offended at the parable.
You can not craft some cunning meaning to the oil so you retreat and cast the component in the waste bin.
