So you believe that once born again you will lose your free will?Hello @GodsGrace,
* The believer, by God's reckoning, has died with Christ, and is now walking before God in newness of life, in the spirit.
* With respect, you fail to acknowledge the power of God in this regard.
You believe that God will save you even IF you do NOT desire to be saved?
2 _Timothy 2:12 states that GOD WILL DENY a person...'Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes,
that they may also obtain the salvation
which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
It is a faithful saying:
For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him:
If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him:
if we deny Him, He also will deny us:
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful:
He cannot deny himself.
(2Ti 2:10-13)
* The believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, by God's reckoning, has died with Christ: and if we be dead with Him we shall also live with Him. That is assured. What can be lost is not our salvation, or the gift of God which is eternal life, but the honour of reigning with Him; it is a loss of reward, not of life in Christ Jesus. For that is secure, it will not be denied us. Praise God!
IF that person denies God.
Right.
There will be no reigning with God for those that DENY Him.
I think you're not reading scripture properly.'I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away:
and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Abide in Me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine;
no more can ye, except ye abide in M
(Joh 15:1-4)
* This is related to fruit bearing, not to salvation. Pruning, not extinction.
Please read the following again:
John 15:2
2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away:
Jesus is teaching that those who are IN HIM
IOW,,,saved persons...
that DO NOT bear fruit...God will take them away,,,cut them off,,,sever them.
Pruning is about those that DO bear fruit...
THEY are PRUNED so that they produce even MORE fruit.
And Jesus was not too interested in farming fruit.
He was speaking about salvation and how to attain it.
Seems like you know about biblical wording...
this is called a metaphor.
Correct. The plan is IN CHRIST.* Yes, it is possible for a person to fall away in the flesh, but you are not taking into account the power of God, and the wondrous plan of salvation which is in Christ Jesus.
As long as one is IN CHRIST he is saved.
If one FALLS AWAY from the FAITH
he is no longer IN CHRIST and thus cannot be saved since salvation comes from being IN CHRIST.
You're referring to 1 Corinthians 3:15....There are some who will be saved as by fire, but saved none the less, they will still live, but not reign.
Please read it again...I'm not getting into this.
* This is a misquote, What is actually said in John 3:36 is:-
'He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:
and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life;
but the wrath of God abideth on him.'
(Joh 3:36)
So you don't even trust the translators of the NT??
There is no misquote.
They know Greek and we do not.
Find out what disbelieve means in Greek...
it means to DISOBEY.
In any case,,,it would make no difference.
If we do NOT BELIEVE in Christ...we cannot be saved.
And BELIEVE has a specific meaning in Greek
Do you know what it is?
Find out.
