I don’t think the gospel age ever ends but concerning the thousand years in 2 Peter 3:8, verse eight further defines what “a thousand years” equates to as far as earthly time goes. 1 earthly day = 1000 years, 1000 years = 1 earthly day. So each day a believer lives on this earth, he is living in the millennial reign of Christ.

So there is no end of the 1000 years. That’s why in Revelation 20, the first resurrection is split and separated by the 1000 years.

I don’t think the gospel age ever ends but concerning the thousand years in 2 Peter 3:8, verse eight further defines what “a thousand years” equates to as far as earthly time goes. 1 earthly day = 1000 years, 1000 years = 1 earthly day. So each day a believer lives on this earth, he is living in the millennial reign of Christ.

So there is no end of the 1000 years. That’s why in Revelation 20, the first resurrection is split and separated by the 1000 years.

Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

ok, thanks - I don't consider that I have received a very good understanding of everything written in Revelation up to now (there are so many details, and it's highly allegorical), except that overall it seems to be a kind of summing up of many scriptures that came before and a summing up and reiteration of the mystery of the gospel itself.

By all means please test and see if this makes sense: Jesus being the firstfruits was the first to be resurrected to eternal life and the earlier saints who died in faith were resurrected with Him....that I believe is the first resurrection, which we who die in Christ after that will have "a part" in (1 Cor 15 expounds this hope). In other words all who die in Christ after His resurrection (as well as those who are alive and remain at His coming) are the "rest of the dead who lived not again until the thousand years are finished", and are who, as the wording of Rev. 20:6 puts it, have "part" or share in the first resurrection (which is Christ's resurrection). The thousand years being this age we're living in now.

You are ascribing the "thousand years" as being on a personal individual level.....which seems to resonate - but could those scriptures be speaking on both a personal and historical level at the same time? The harvest is the end of the age in which the Lord separtes and gathers out of His kingdom all the evil and those who perpetrate it. I have a hard time believing the Lord is going to allow all the horrendous wickedness and cruelties and suffering in this world to go on forever. The bible says His Spirit will not strive with man forever.....could that.70 year lifespan be literal on an individual level as well as being a symbolic number for the lifespan of this world?
