Revoking the visas due to overstaying, criminal activity including protests against our policies.

I think if they want to study here, they shouldn't be protesting our country's policies. They probably couldn't do that in their own countries. Also I heard one USC foreign student was running a $25,000 scam.

Truck drivers are next on the list. If they cannot speak or read English fluently....guess what?
Truck and cargo confiscated. Regardless of whether or not they have a valid license and DOT health card.

It's putting lots of Truck drivers back to work.
But more importantly it's keeping 30,000 pounds of cargo from being weaponized.

Their store hired cashiers,immigrants, who did not know how to change out cash purchases! Cashiers!

Those folk left after a time. They weren't fired,they quit.

Now,there are new hires. Walmart hires starting at 16 years of age.
Young American kids as cashiers.

They don't know how to change out cash purchases at their registers.

Seriously.
There's a 64 year old she knows,her neighbor. He can't get a new job. Not even at Walmart.
Who get tax breaks for hiring immigrants,minorities,and kids. Qualified for the job or not.

And he used to be a fellow student math tutor in high school.
He knows how to change out cash purchases.

Interviewed three times,applying over two years. Never hired.
It's ageism He has a spotless resume and background check. Which Walmart does do for all potential hires.

They won't hire him.
The world's gone mad.

Truck drivers have been needing the pay bump for a while now. Their pay hasn't gone up in a long time but the cost of everything else has gone up.
And the cost of shipping will have to go up as well. The hiring of those who cant speak, read, or write English is actionable....by the companies who hire them.
That can include you if you use certain freight services. A CDL holder with no tickets or felonies is rare....and they are going to have to increase pay if they want the drivers. Everything from garbage collection to groceries is hauled by truck. But nobody ever wants to pay these people. It's also the most dangerous job in America by percentages and numbers of fatal injuries or serious injuries.


Walmart not hiring older people?
That depends on the region and specific management team.
Most are willing so long as he can stand unassisted for 8 hr shifts. They dont accommodate physical limitations very well if at all. Including bathroom breaks or food breaks. But usually their numbers are off elsewhere too.
Their mgmt team will fail soon enough.

Walmart not hiring older people?

I heard they like to hire old people as greeters. I've never been to a Walmart so not sure if they use greeters anymore.

I live in Los Angeles. Our apartment building is getting new flooring in the hallways. All of the workers are Hispanic. I have Hispanic friends and neighbors so not a prejudiced person.

But these workers throw this cement looking stuff into the pot for the large Palm tree. I discovered it a few nights ago....all of this "cement" already formed a hard thick surface on top of the soil of the tree pot!!!

I reported it to our Hispanic manager...she said she'd take a look. I told her they are going to kill that tree which is old but thriving. I don't know why they don't use their brains.

Years ago the same thing happened but those workers were using several of the plant pots. Reported it to the then black lady manager and she told them not to do it. She was very nice but our apartment building fired her!

I'd do that.

That's an idea. I didn't want to touch it because I thought maybe it was a caustic material.

Currently I can't do it but will if I feel better....it's been in the 90s. Also, our apartment building let us know suddenly that we all have to sign up for paying rent through an online website starting September!

The manager came up and worked with me for nearly two hours on it. I'm waiting for a validation deposit and she said to call her on September 2 once I get the validation deposit to show accounts are linked. Then she will help me pay my September rent.

Alot of tenants are asking her for help. The first notice she gave us didn't say it was mandatory! I called about the tree and afterwards asked if I should drop my rent check in the mail slot on September 1st or give it to her on September 2. She said no... it's all going to be through the online website now.

After my talk with her, she gave us all a second notice that we must use the website.

I talked to a few neighbors tonight as I sat in the lobby for a few minutes. They haven't finished setting up their accounts. Some haven't even started. Most didn't know September 1 is a legal holiday and manager will be off! (They are from Central America so didn't know.)

The friend answered,fire all the team leads (assistant managers), coaches (head managers), and the store manager.

Managing employees is a very careful dance. One most people can't do effectively even if they are a highly productive worker. Which is who generally is granted these positions.

Most see the supposed "power" they have as management and it absolutely corrupts them. When in truth....they have no power at all. It's just a job with responsibilities.
The usual responsibility is just being available to address problems and needs. The usual need is trying to get upper management to do their job. (Never a fun thing to do)

I have several friends who work for Walmart Management. It's amazing to them how high they have climbed the ladder by just doing their job...no power trips, no gloating or lording over others...just basic job. They quote company policies and carry them out.

Cold, dispassionate and perfunctory in firing, hiring, assignments and schedules. They aren't rude or anything....in fact pleasant people. But they terrify those who are suffering "Main Character syndrome".

Most people just want to do their hours and go home to have fun, love, and recreation....and they have zero problems with that....but the ones who get on power trips or have too much anxiety over their management position? Whole nudder cridder.
