“Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.” (Ezk 3:21, KJV)
“…He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.” (Ezk 3:27, KJV)
That is a good one, I had posted on this, I have it set up a few different ways as I weave through how I can catch these things in Jesus and Paul so I will post one under your post here, maybe someone else could catch a better glimpse of the things in the same as well because you can even catch it in Jeremiah if you begin there.
For example,
Jerm 18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
Jerm 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
So after the fleeing the commission of the word of the LORD the first time the word of the Lord came again to Jonah
Jonah 3:1 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
Jonah 3:2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
Jonah 3:4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
Jonah 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
Jona 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
And again...
Jerm 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
As the LORD hath said, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live:
As he says in Ezekiel ..." turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?"
Ezek 33:7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
Ezek 33:8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
The comparison right here posted earlier
Luke 11:29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.
Luke 11:30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
Luke 11:32 The men of Nineveh shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
And here it is in Christ
Acts 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
Then here
Ezek 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
Then in Paul who said,
Acts 20:26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
Acts 20:27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
Paul saying
"Woe to me", if I preach not the gospel seems to be in accord with a watchman in a similar was since Paul being pure from the blood of all men is comparable to his warning them.
Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
Paul became all things to all men when it come to gaining the world to Jesus Christ, but Jesus asks
Luke 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
Paul seems to answer the same this way
1Cr 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Practicing what he preaches, saving both himself and them that hear as he instructed Timothy
1 Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
