[John 1:29 KJV] 29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

There are those who say this verse proves that there is only one gospel. They say that here we can find John giving the gospel that Jesus died for our sins for the salvation of the whole world. I offer another view.

The lamb was sacrificed to make atonement for the sins of Israel in the old testament........[Numbers 6:14 KJV] 14 And he shall offer his offering unto the LORD, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings,...............Jesus is indeed the lamb of God that was foreshadowed by the sacrificial offering of the old testament lamb (Genesis 22:8 Revelation 5:6).

Jesus died to redeem the iniquities committed by Israel in the old testament...............[Hebrews 9:15 KJV] 15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

John was not revealing that Jesus would die for our sins and rise for our justification. This was a mystery/a secret hid in God. If John was revealing this they would not have crucified Jesus......... [1Corinthians 2:7-8 KJV] 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

What was being conveyed by John saying "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world"
was that Jesus would come again to establish his kingdom on earth (Luke 1:32-33). Jesus will reign with righteousness and destroy the wicked sinners.................[Isaiah 11:4 KJV] 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
[Isiah 13:9 KJV] 9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
[Jeremiah 3:17 KJV] 17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
[Isiah 9:6-7 KJV] 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
[Daniel 9:24 KJV] 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy..............all of the verses above is how Jesus will take away sin from the world.

The last point to consider is to look closely at John 1:29. The verse says "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world". The verse says SIN, NOT SINS. This is a subtle difference. The verse does not say the sins of the world is taken away, but rather sin is.

Jesus will also take away the sins of the believing nation of Israel in the new covenant which will be established in the kingdom..............[Jeremiah 31:27, 34 KJV] 27 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast. ... 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

What was not known until the Lord Jesus revealed it to Paul was that he would reconcile the world to himself............[2Corinthians 5:19 KJV] 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Matthew 28:16-20

King James Version

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many.

For he (God) hath made him (Jesus, the holy Lamb of God without blemish) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. The LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all (Isaiah 53:6) and so when Christ appeared he did so to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. The Lamb that was slain, and in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

Thus, the Lamb which takes away the sin of the world.

Concerning Christ it is also written

Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

But Jesus is not just the propitiation for his people's sins (though he be sent only to the house of Israel)
And John also says,

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

And so not for their sins only but also the sins of the whole world

Rom 15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

Rom 15:10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

When John the Baptist saw Jesus, he said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). This did not mean that John was preaching the full message of the death and resurrection of Christ, because that was not yet revealed. Instead, John was pointing to what the Law and the Prophets had already spoken. The lamb in the Old Testament was offered for atonement, as it is written, “And he shall offer his offering to the LORD: one male lamb of the first year without blemish as a burnt offering, one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish as a sin offering, and one ram without blemish as a peace offering” (Numbers 6:14). From the beginning it was foretold, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering” (Genesis 22:8), and in the vision John later saw Christ as “a Lamb as though it had been slain” (Revelation 5:6).

The Scripture explains why He is called the Lamb: “And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance” (Hebrews 9:15). His death redeemed the sins committed under the first covenant, and His blood opened the way for the promise of eternal life.

But the words of John also look forward to the kingdom that the prophets declared. The angel said of Him, “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end” (Luke 1:32-33). Isaiah said, “With righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked” (Isaiah 11:4). Again it is written, “Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and He will destroy its sinners from it” (Isaiah 13:9). And the promise is sure: “At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem” (Jeremiah 3:17).

This is how He will take away sin from the world. The prophets spoke of it: “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder… Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever” (Isaiah 9:6-7). And again, “Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy” (Daniel 9:24).

It is important to notice that John said, “the sin of the world,” not “the sins of the world.” Sin in the world will be taken away when the Lord reigns and brings everlasting righteousness. And as the prophets said, He will also forgive the sins of His people Israel in the new covenant: “No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more” (Jeremiah 31:34).

So John’s words pointed both to the Lamb who would die for redemption, and to the King who will return to remove sin from the world and establish His everlasting kingdom in righteousness.

Well as you said that the Gentiles being saved was a mystery prior to Paul, I used one verse to show you are in error.
Also in the OT Gen. 12:3 and Is. 49:6 spoke of Gentiles being saved and blessed. the mystery Paul revealed was that jew3s and Gentiles would be one body in Jesus.

How does Jesus take away the sin of the world?

A.) By shedding His blood and dying as the blood atoenement, (the new covenant) that God offers to accept a sinner, who believes in Jesus.

Contrast the verses that say sins plural............................[Jhn 8:24 KJV] 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.

Your verse is John 3:16 and 17.

"For God so loved the WORLD"..........That He "GAVE".

Gave what?

God Gave Jesus to THe Cross, for the sin of the '"WORLD""....and not just to the (predestined elect) as Lying Calvinism teaches.

Contrast the verses that say sins plural............................[Jhn 8:24 KJV] 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.

Your verse is simply dealing with each sinner, vs the "world", which is plural.
The world is made up of each person on it........so, one verse says that Jesus died for the World...... and one verse will say that Jesus died for each one, in the World.

[Heb 10:4 KJV] 4 For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

OT Animal sacrifice could not permanently deal with sin... Whereas Jesus is the """"ONE TIME ETERNAL Sacrifice ... for sin.""""

So, if you are a new Christian, or someone who is saved a long time, and you are confused about "confessing sin"...
Then just read the verse, i posted.......that Says that Jesus is your "ONE TIME Eternal Sacrifice for Sin".

See that?

That means your sin is dealt with forever, ("One time ETERNAL Sacrifice"..... starting with the moment you were saved and continuing for as long as God exists.

What is that?
That is your SALVATION.

Hallelujah !

HOW DOES JESUS TAKE AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD?

With His Blood, of course.

Colossians 1:14
14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

1 John 1:7
7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

The cross not the blood is in John 3:16-17
You are reading it into them
Look at John 3:18.....................[Jhn 3:18 KJV] 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.............they were saved here not by the blood or the cross but by believing in his name that he is the Christ the Son of God

Calvanism is wrong

Jesus came to save his people Israel.............................[Mat 1:21 KJV] 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Paul made it known it was for all

The cross not the blood is in John 3:16

The Cross of Christ, is where Jesus shed His blood for the sin of the world.

So, when we read Jn 3:16... "That God Gave" "To the World".

He's giving the world of sinners, Christ's Sacrifice........and that happened on The Cross, where Jesus shed His blood and died.

......they were saved here not by the blood or the cross but by believing in his name that he is the Christ the Son of God

We give God our Faith in Christ, and God takes the Sacrifice that is Jesus Blood and Death that occurred on The Cross, and applies it to the sinner, as their forgiveness.

This is the "preaching of the Cross'.........that is John 3:16.

Calvanism is wrong

Yes.
Calvinism is a doctrine of devils.
Avoid it.

Jesus came to save his people Israel.......

1 Tim 1:15

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.....

New Living Translation
This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—........

English Standard Version
The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, ......

King James Bible
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;......

New American Standard Bible
It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners........

NASB 1995
It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners ......

NASB 1977

Sorry but it was very eluded to in many passages of the OT. Israel was looking for their Messiah and the astute among them knew He was to die for their transgressions as said in the Psalms and Isaiah
