Jesus shared no bloodline with Mary. She was the ark of the new covenant that carried Jesus into the world. Joseph was in contact a descendent of David's not Mary
The reason that most scholarship will agree that this verse is regarding Jesus.......is.....why else would it be there?
It was easier before that video!!I had to sit with this one for awhile

It was easier being wrong! lol I can't figure out why we need both "fathers" roots-- and none of Mary.Take your time and name another person born of a Virgin, that the bible is referring to....
You posted "being the seed of the woman"........and Jesus was not the "seed of the woman" and as i told you, "women don't have seed" unless impregnated by the Male.
In Jesus's case, God created Him, as you stated, by the Holy Spirit.
Who is her seed here
Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Like everything else in the Old Testament it is part of storyline. The word Messiah is not associated with this story.
Like everyone that had not had a baby before is a virgin by definition in this period.
Why are you going on about the way translators capitalized the thing?Capatilize the "S", in seed, as you would with any verse that is talking about Jesus.
So, when you write Seed....with the uppercase "S"< then you are designating Jesus.....exactly as you would if you posted that Jesus is the Word made flesh., and the bible is the word of God.
So, in Gen, He is the "Seed".......not the seed.
The verse said a Virgin would conceive......."Emmanuel".
No ohter "virgin" in the bible is that one....... as that one is Mary, and Jesus is "Emmanuel" her virgin born son.
Emmanuel means God (is) with us...not messiah. Again the verse is in a middle of a story. Cherry picking at its finest.
Hi Grail!Emmanuel means God (is) with us...not messiah. Again the verse is in a middle of a story. Cherry picking at its finest.

Again Emmanuel means God (is) with us...not messiah. Again the verse is in a middle of a story. Cherry picking at its finest. The Hebew word Emmanuel has many meanings....Messiah is " Emmanuel" : the God - Man.
See the "Trinity" for the update on "Emmanuel"., and keep in mind Isaiah is prophetic... its prophesing that Emmamuel (the God man), is coming from a Virgin, who is Jesus.
That virgin would be Mary, unless there is another virgin in the bible who produced a different "emmanuel".
Maybe you can find a 2nd one in there.
Give it a try.
Hi Grail!
My guess is that you do not believe that Christ was actually God in human form?
"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
Matthew 1:23
I'm just curious![]()

"God with us"......."Eammuel"......is "God manifested in the Flesh".... 1 Tim 3:16... (KJV).
"God with us".. "Emmanuel", is.."The WORD became FLESH, and dwelt among us". John 1:14. (KJV)
Jesus became FLESH, virgin born.
Jesus is "Emmanuel" the God-Man. "God with Us"
