Shema Yisrael! Hear, O Israel!
Deu 6:4 "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!
This is one of the very first Bible verse that most Jewish boys and girls learn. It binds the Jewish life and community together. Every devout Jew recited it daily and even utter the
Shema when dying. This is the one belief that distinguished Israel from all the surrounding nations that had multiple gods. “The Lord is one Lord” is thus Israel's classic statement of monotheism, Judaism's highest confession of Faith. It speaks of Yahweh's uniqueness and exclusiveness, that he is one single integral person, not divisible.
The Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible tells us that there are two valid ways of interpreting the
Shema of Deuteronomy 6:4. It is possible to translate, "Yahweh, our God, is one Yahweh"- in which case the Shema affirms that Yahweh cannot be divided into several Yahweh manifestations (poly-Yahwism), like the Baals of different sanctuaries [or we might add the Trinity of later Nicene Christianity]. Or we may translate: "Yahweh is our God, Yahweh alone"-in which case the Shema affirms that Yahweh is the only and the unique God [we will soon see that Jesus affirmed this creed and John 17:3].
Both of these nuances are given in other Old Testament passages. The person of God is indivisible and he has no other in His class for He is alone and unique. He is a single divine individual.
Deu 4:35 "To you it was shown that you might know that the LORD, He is God; there is no other besides Him….39 "Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below;
there is no other.
Deu 32:39 'See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.
Isa 44:6 "Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last,
And there is no God besides Me.
Mar 12:28 Now one of the experts in the law came and heard them debating. When he saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked him, "Which commandment is the most important of all?" Jesus answered, "The most important is: '
Listen, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Satan uses the false doctrine of the Trinity (not mentioned in scripture) To fool the non-elect! If Jesus is God…. Then He cannot have a GOD!!!
Jesus tells us what knowledge is required to have eternal life… note Know!
Joh 17:3 Now this is eternal life — that
they know you,
the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent.
We all know that the Son of God has a Father (God the Father). But the question that must be asked and answered is: can the concept that God the Son have a God? Every pastor that I have ever asked this question to has always said "Of course not!" But is that the pastors answer given in Scripture? No, on the contrary. As you will see, the prophesied Messiah in the Old Testament is said to have a God. Then you will see that Jesus the Messiah fulfills those prophesies because he most definitely has a God. If you come to the conclusion that Jesus has a God, then it might be time to rethink and research the Doctrine of the Trinity.
Because if God the Son has a God, then there are TWO GODS!
To make this as simple as possible, I am not going to list the huge amount of Scriptures which have God (not "Father") and Jesus in the same sentence, or Scriptures that have God speaking to Jesus, or Jesus speaking to God. We will only be concerned with Scriptures that prove that
Jesus has a God.
OLD TESTAMENT MESSIANIC PROPHESIES

He (the Messiah)
shall say of me. "You are my father, my God, my rock, my savior". And I will make him the firstborn."
Micah 5:3-4 - "
He (the Messiah)
shall stand firm and shepherd his flock by the strength of the LORD, in the Majestic name of the LORD, his God."
Psalm 22:10-11 - "
To you I was committed at birth. From my mother’s womb you are my God."

Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God."

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
2 Corinthians 11:31 - "The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ knows, He who is blessed forever, that I do not lie."
Peter:
1 Peter 1:3 - "
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
John:
Revelation 1:6 - "
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father."
When one reads the preceding verses, there is one thing that is a fact.
That Jesus Christ has a God. Jesus speaks of his God, Peter Paul and John mention the God of Jesus Christ. Are they all mistaken?
Are we to believe that all these verses are misprints? Are we to suppose that theologians several centuries after Christ knew more about Jesus than Jesus and his Apostles? There is no way around it.
The New American Bible (a Roman Catholic Bible) in a section discussing biblical revelation says,
"It is the very same God who reveals Himself in so many richly divergent ways on every page of the Scriptures. The God of Abraham and Moses and David is the
God of Jesus of Nazareth."
1Co 11:3 But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and
God is the head of Christ.
Now if you want to see some truth… look at Rev chapter 4 and 5
Rev 4:8 Each one of the four living creatures had six wings and was full of eyes all around and inside. They never rest day or night, saying: "
Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God, the All- Powerful, Who was and who is, and who is still to come!" 9 And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks
to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,10 the twenty-four elders throw themselves to the ground before the one who sits on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever, and they offer their crowns before his throne, saying: 11 "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, since you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created!"
Who is worthy to take the book out of the hand of GOD!!!
Rev 5:1 Then I saw in the right hand
of the one who was seated on the throne a scroll written on the front and back and sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a powerful angel proclaiming in a loud voice: "Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?"
Rev 5:4 So I began weeping bitterly because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
So there was no second or third member of the one sitting on the throne… NO!!!
Rev 5:6 Then I saw standing in the middle of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders,
a Lamb that appeared to have been killed. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. :7 Then he came and took the scroll from the right hand of the one (GOD) who was seated on the throne,
Rev 5:9 They were singing a new song: "
You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because you were killed, and at the cost of your own blood you
have purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation.
This is not some second member of God taking the book from GOD! this is God's chosen one...
Luk 9:35 Then a voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son,
my Chosen One. Listen to him!"
Joh 1:32 Then John testified, "I saw the Spirit descending like a dove from heaven, and it remained on him. 33 And I did not recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'The one on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining — this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.' 34 I have both seen and testified that
this man is the Chosen One of God."
How many of you really know...
Act 2:22 "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene,
a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs
which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know--
