The Devil refuses to call Christ 'evolved'; if he won't acknowledge Christ, what chance do we have? (kidding yourself?)

Hi there,

So there is a grave problem, with Evolution: the Devil does not acknowledge Christ, as 'evolved'. How do I know this? Because Jesus said the Holy Spirit would convict the world of judgment, because the "ruler of this world has been judged" - in other words, because he has not acknowledged salvation through Christ, and that because [as ruler] he does not believe himself to be in need of subjection to God through Christ. Christ is "not good enough". The ruler of this world, the Devil, will however, happily call men 'evolved' albeit not as evolved as he presumes himself to be. This is a problem.

The reason this is a problem, is that we have to operate in this world, while people come and go in their belief of Evolution - we are not of the world, we have no way of justifying 'evolution' apart from Christ. As such Jesus said "I am the vine, you can do nothing of yourselves" (from memory). If we are evolved then, we evolved in a way that is dependent on Christ. It's not wrong to have a different opinion to the world, its just that the world will single you out, for having that different opinion. That is not good!

Now there are two things to note here: one, Jesus said they would call us worse names than they called Him (Gospels, from memory) and two, Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would speak up for us (again Gospels, from memory - John, I think). In other words, the world is itching to separate itself from Christ and will do so violently. We on the other hand, want to be identified with Christ, even if He is not called 'evolved' and the Holy Spirit is ready to stand in the breach, to make sure we are not cut off from the world - we just have to be sure we are not going to try and give our own answer. This is difficult!

Promoting the Holy Spirit would seem to be a good idea and certainly informing ourselves about what kind of Evolution we can accept and what we cannot (macro-evolution no, micro-evolution yes - for example) is wise, but really I think what we need to do, is pray for scientists who will make the notion of God faithfully creating Creation clear. We do not create on our own! We never have! The knee jerk reaction to Evolution is to say "I know how I was created in the beginning [it wasn't evolution]" but the Bible is not so clear, that God did this or that, in scientific terminology. Scientific terminology is to the Evolutionist, the shield of faith, that trust in the word is to the Creationist. Both want to test the truth, but they differ in motive and expectation. Can we still save souls?

The real advantage of the Creationist, is that even without specific observations of what happened in the beginning, we have a plethora of words from Christ, who was there from the beginning, which we can test. What is the scientific advantage of being able to distinguish clearly between "yes and no" ("let your yes be yes and your no be no" gospels, from memory), it would have to be pretty objective wouldn't it? Well, there you go - a scientific test for objectivity. What is the scientific advantage of "being faithful in what is least" ("he who is faithful in what is least, is faithful also in what is much" Gospels, from memory), it would have to be very much like the notion of the 'proof of concept' wouldn't it? Well, there you go - a scientific test for 'proof of concept'. You see, these words aren't empty, simply because they don't serve the Devil. "Christ" is the best positioned person, to take advantage of the current micro-evolution - in a way I think that is better than being called "evolved"!

So what do you think? Are you on your toes, about who gets the Glory, for change in your life? Do you understand that calling yourself 'evolved' apart from Christ, is fruitless? Can you defend yourself with the words that Christ gave us, from an enemy that refuses to be tested? I hope you are beginning to ask these questions!

God bless.

The devil isn't the only one who doesn't approve of the way God created living things. BTW, individuals don't evolve; populations do. Since, as most Christian denominations admit, evolution is consistent with God's creation, it's just not an issue for us as Christians.
