Don't misunderstand . . .
I responded to Matthias claiming Jesus for his group of "Jewish Monotheists", by challenging that this was so. Matthias claims Jesus' theology is the same as his own, and I challenged that. Matthias has no right to put words into Jesus' mouth as though the Lord were denying the very truth about Himself.
And then Matthias began to push me towards Scott, attempting to get me into a triangle with Scott, I would guess to take attention off the post I made.
I'm not in this discussion to speak with Scott, he's fine, I like him and all. I truly appreciate his good manners, and that he doesn't play these kinds of games. I don't agree with everything he says, and he doesn't agree with everything I say. I know this. There is no surprise.
But that's all this is.
I called out Matthias on what I believe to be false assertions, and challenged his foundation for making such claims. He's attempted triangulation the rest of the way through. And effectively, it seems. But it's just being manipulative.
"Jesus himself says He's not God"
"You don't have the basis by which to make such a claim"
"Look at what Scott said!!"
"I'm discussing with you"
"Oh but look at what Scott said".
And on it went.
Much love!
I simply called it as I see it, and it was probably less about what you think and more about what I see as typical of people who claim to be Trinitarians. The simple truth is that there is really only one main criterion in the modern mainstream: "Does the person confess 'Jesus is God' or not?"
That's why even oneness and modalists get along just fine with Trins because modern Trins are not even rally Trins themselves and cannot come near to explaining the early RCC dogma they have received. So it's all about who claims to believe "Jesus is God", and that's just about it, even if the person openly states that he or she is a non-Trinitarian, even if the person claims Trins are either wicked deceivers or the poor souls they teach who are "only deceived" instead of the wicked the deceiver types working for the Devil, but of course still in outer darkness.
I could hardly care much at all about the back and forth between Matthias and the self proclaimed "mystery of God" revelator-prophet: what I said in that post, the one you have responded to, was more concerned with the typically bad witness for Trinitatrians made by Trinitarians. That is why I was not surprised.
Did Matthias do what you claim? I would say probably so, in a way he did toss out something that may be considered divisive, (by you), but he did speak truthfully. And so what if you say his post was divisive: he was repeating and asking you about the truly divisive things spoken against Trinitarians, (you), by the self proclaimed mystery of God revealer. You did indeed enter the thread and ignore what the "Jesus is God" mystery prophet was saying about Trinitarians and basically pretended to have been made a target just because Matthias asked you what you thought about the obnoxious claims of the mystery prophet against Trinitarians. You just didn't like the situation which you yourself had inserted yourself into by joining the thread: you apparently wanted only to enter the thread and focus your commentary like a laser on Matthias without having to suffer dealing with what was already ongoing in the thread at the time you stepped in.
You say that you and the mystery of God prophet get along just fine. The mystery of God prophet says you are deceived and headed for weeping and gnashing of teeth in outer darkness, even as a poor deceived one instead of the wicked evil doers who taught you what you believe. You get upset because Matthias asked for your opinion on these claims of the mystery of God prophet against Trinitatrians and Trinitarianism. You then accuse Matthias of deflecting by asking for your opinion while you yourself are using that very excuse to deflect from answering to what the mystery of God prophet has said about Trinitarians and Trinitarianism.
Lol, again, why I am not surprised.
