I already made my point about what the Bible says and what the Jews thought about Satan the Devil two centuries before Jesus.

I showed facts on this very matter (the identity of that evil spirit), not opinions. On the rest of your post#1 maybe another time I'll give it more attention. For now, you know you're mistaken about whether the Jews knew who Satan the Devil was.

The Strong’s is great but in this case wrong.
It is not just Strong's. The Concordance in by Bible software program has:

"AV-Eden 17; 17

Eden= "pleasure"

n loc m
1) the first habitat of man after the creation; site unknown

n pr m
2) a Gershonite Levite, son of Joah in the days of King Hezekiah of Judah"

The Jews do not believe in the Devil because the Devil is never defined in the Old Testament.

The word/name Satan mostly appears in Job and there Satan seems to have a cordial relationship with Yahweh where he is the judge of righteousness.

Still yeap....Satan is the Devil as identified in the New Testament.
If the Jews do not believe in the devil, why did Jesus say to some Jews:

““You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” (Joh 8:44 NKJV)

Why did they not reply to Him, "There is no such being as the devil," if they did not believe in the devil?

The word translated "garden" is given this entry in Strong's Concordance:

01588. gan [gan;] from 01598; a garden (as fenced): garden.

"Eden" has this entry:

05731. Eden [ay -den;] the same as 05730 (masculine); Eden, the region of Adam's home: Eden.

The words Satan and devil do not appear in Genesis. Nevertheless, the bible as a whole tells us that the serpent, the devil and Satan are the same being:

“He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is [the] Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;” (Re 20:2 NKJV)

I am not sure why you mention the apple. Which bible translation says that the fruit Adam and Eve ate was an apple? I gather the mistake came about because of a similarity between the Latin words for "apple" and "evil."

That just is not so. Granted the word "devil" does not occur in the Old Testament, but "Satan" does several times, so does "hell."
Is the principle of interpretation legality or is it relationship?

Why don't you ever think that the earth is one of God's gardens?

Why does Maria's name mean the opposite of what she does? Disobedience and obedience.

Why is Hades translated into Hell?does hell has anything to do with hello? Hello hades?

Why the ancient serpent's name was Satan and not stupid, and whether to call others stupid would be judged?

Where do demons come from and why are they temporarily out of control?Had demons been released into the world to see if they would seek the Bible instead of sin?

Devil means accuser, slanderer.
Satan means resister, opposer, adversary.
Hey E,

That's exactly what the people of Israel in Jesus day shown towards accusing him, and also them resisiting Yahavah.

They replaced God, with worshiping the Law, and accused Jesus of being evil, as though he was the prince of demons himself.

Amazing! I believe they been done away with today.

I hardly ever talk about devil or satan in my own life I know I fair off better knowing that they are done away with today! :D

Love life when Jesus has had the total victory even through suffering.

There is a bible verse that say something like "If God is for you, who can be against you" I say it's ones own self.

Yes even if they did not believe in the devil knowledge of him was there.
But this topic does not come up in the Old Testament.
Even in pagan religions the notion of a devil and hell was alien.

Your facts are wrong.

The Jews do understand the existance of Satan, but they have a different perspective of Him......not a denial of Him.

""""Throughout the Torah, Satan challenges God to test the true loyalty of his followers, including Adam and Eve as well as Abraham. However, Satan remains inferior to God and is incapable of taking action on mortals without God’s permission. In the Talmud and Midrash.. Satan appears as the force in the world,""""

And regarding Paganism....... they believe in the existance of the Evil one......the supreme evil...but they just give him a different name.
So, that is just nomenclature.
For example...... some Euro-pagans today worship the devil, as "Pan"......who is a God, in their religion.

Nope LOL
Never said the Jews did not know about Satan just do not believe he is a devil.
And the pagans do not think Pan is a devil.

Never said the Jews did not know about Satan just do not believe he is a devil.

They believe He is a force of evil, or a force in the world.
So, if they dont claim him a certain title, but understand the workings of this entity.....then this the same idea.

I'll give you an example.

Paul said that He wanted to go to his chruch in Thessalonica......but Satan prevented it.

So, the Jews would understand this, even tho they dont name the entity as the Devil.

And the pagans do not think Pan is a devil.

You dont know any Euro Pagans.
I do.
So, let me tall you.......they beleive in a "God of the wild".... and they understand that He is "sacred Evil."

Here is the thing......... Paganism, that is contemporary is Satanic......so, when they are worshiping their "God of nature" they know He's the devil.
This is why you find occult symbols related to it....and that is always going to include some type of Twisted Cross or some type of re-designed Cross as their "sacred" Symbol.

You can say since Paganism is not Christian it is demonic.

Wow designs! That's a sick shirt behold. It's just material, I cant see the heart of individuals.

People can love nature and love God? Idk... I love that the stars exist, and butterflies, and bears, and trees that grow fruit and protect us from tornados and stuff...

I use to play oujia board and stuff, and walk around graveyards even supposedly had a druid ghost attached to me named rider who could control the weather.

I grew up from all that stuff though... its just stuff. Some people idolize it though... not gonna say people dont.

Still cant read the heart of the person. Only God will after this life. And not everyone is mentally sane to begin with.

The heart of a Pagan who worships the Earth, is that they are worshiping the creation, and not the creator.

This does not necessarily make them a bad person......it just proves that they are religious and lost, vs Christian and saved.

They practice "Magik" which is demonic....its occult.

@Grailhunter ..

This person in the photo below is a "Pan" worshiper... she is a Euro Pagan....Here name is Maria ........She worships "the earth".....and she knows that what she is worshiping is the devil.
She is a High Priestess.
Notice her cap. You see a deformed "Ichthus" (icthys)...and a leanng "Cross". The Horns represent the dead and "Pan".
What her cap is proclaiming is "My God is more powerful that THAT God".....

This is Steve and Jenny.
They are also Euro Pagans..
He is a High Priest and she is a Priestess.

In this recent photo they are in Nature near their Home, celebrating "Mabon".........Mabon is a pagan and Wiccan celebration of the autumn equinox, marking a time of balance between day and night, and the second harvest.
They both know they are rejecting GOD and Christ and are replacing them with "earth worship" and Wiccan theology.
I have these 2 on the "Prayer Forum" here on the ChristianityBoard Forum.
I hope all who read this would agree with me that God is going to open their Heart's to Jesus....very soon.......amen.

What usually happens......is that the worst sinners, make the best Trophies of God's Grace.
I hope this for them soon.
