Then quote the words and bible edition. My KJV 1611 edition says water.
NKJV
Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Was Jesus referring to water baptism or spiritual baptism? I'm thinking it's the latter. What do you believe?

Mark 16:14-18
14 Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. 15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Definitely water without a doubt for a variety if biblical reasons. From the beginning of the baptism phenomena starting with John the Baptist, it was water, termed the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

The bible says there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism.

The baptism in Acts 2:38 is also of repentance for the remission of sins (read the text) except it was a baptism into the body of Christ which is his church.

We see in Acts8 the conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch where he said here is water, what prevents me from being baptized. So, how did he know about water baptism unless Philip told him during preaching Christ to him and the importance of baptism in water as relates to salvation?

I don't believe that water baptism saves; I believe that Jesus was referring to spiritual baptism, which obviously does save. After all, many have received water baptism and thereafter lived wicked lives.

These wouldnt be baptized by John with water here, and it says

Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves,
being not baptized of him.

Then Jesus said in Matthew

Matt 21:31 That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

"Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, "repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38). “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” Romans 6:3-4,

If we truly love God, then we will obey "Every word" that proceeds out of his mouth (Matthew 4:4). Baptism is one of those words. In order to be baptized, certain events must take place: You must repent, give up a lifestyle where sin has dominion, (ruler ship) over you. Sin according to 1 John 3:4, Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression (breaking) of the law. You must be taught "The Word", before you can adhere to God's commandments (judgments\statues). These laws are found in the Holy Bible; beginning with Genesis and ending with Revelation. You must believe what the bible says and finally, you must confess that Jesus is Lord.

Once this has been accomplished, you are qualified to be baptized in the name of Jesus.

"And he said unto them, go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

To reject baptism is death; so, why will you die? Every soul that is baptized honors God and every soul that rejects baptism dishonors God.

"And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him." (Luke 7:29-30). People, if you are in a position to be baptized, why reject the counsel of God? Rejecting God's counsel will get you eternal life in the burning flames (lake of fire) with the scribes and Pharisees. "For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, Ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5: 20).

Anyone that is not baptized is a person with their sins yet upon them, because it is the baptism that washes away our past sins. "And now why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (Acts 22:16): Remember, before his crucifixion, Jesus told his disciples that his time (death) is not yet come; He also informed them that their time (death) can come at any moment.

Is water baptism evidence that the baptizee has repented?

Precious friends, as already posted in # 5, There is One [ Spiritual ] Baptism for Today, Under
Grace!

Using Israel's water baptism, under the law for Salvation ( By Grace Through faith Only ) Today,
"leaves Out"
Many Grace believers who are hospitalized, home-bound bedridden, quadriplegics
/ wheelchair bound, etc.

I don't see that teaching as God's Grace And Mercy Today, Clearly And Plainly Stated in
Titus 3:4-7!:

"But after that The Kindness and Love of God our Saviour Toward man appeared,
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, But According To His Mercy
He Saved us, By The Washing of regeneration, and Renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Which He Shed On us Abundantly Through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being
Justified By His Grace, we should be made heirs According To The Hope Of Eternal Life."

All of the aforementioned Grace believers with infirmities not being able to be water baptized, Are,
In Biblical Fact, Saved By God, Correct?

Amen.

So a person who loves God, loves others, and lives a holy life but chooses not to receive water baptism is condemned to forever torture in Hell?

The theif on the cross was not holy, or baptized

Someone could forbid you in some way, or stand in your way of doing so

Mat 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

Mat 3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

John, who had the Holy Ghost from His mothers womb, says he had need to be baptized by Jesus

These Gentiles had the Holy Ghost, and Peter asks if any can forbid these from water here

Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

The eunuch heard the message of Jesus Christ and when he saw water and immediately asks Philip

Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said,
See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

Adding, "what doth hinder me"?

Which could be something like a theif nailed to a cross confesses his belief in Jesus , for example one of the thives

Luke 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

It seems that the thief repented in that moment and was spiritually baptized as he otherwise could not enter Heaven, right? Water baptism and spiritual baptism are two different things.

The thief on the cross acknowledging Jesus and his deeds as he did could possibly be
seen as being baptized into his death. Afterall, the thief confessed his deeds admits to
deserving the punishment he was receiving, and acknowledged Jesus as Lord there.

But John, who had Holy Ghost (and baptizing others in water) told Jesus that he knew
he had need to be baptized by him.

And the Gentiles had the Holy Ghost and Peter commanded them to be baptized with water.

The only ones that gave God a hard time about baptism was those of the Pharisees.

Rabid dogs hate water too.
