This thread got me thinking

As an Adult, On What Moral Issue Have You Changed Your Mind? For all the debating in our society, this question reveals the futility in it, for the most part. For me, I can think of 3 moral matters that I changed my mind on:
  1. Death penalty
  2. Jesus is the Lord and Savior of the world as the son of God.
  3. Evolution
What about you?

I was raised very conservative, but lived a very liberal existence once leaving home at 15. I met Christ at 23 years of age, I switched back to conservative overnight.

Since knowing the Lord, not much has changed in terms of morality, His words have always been pretty clear to me. My views about the substance of Christ's teaching hasn't really changed at all, the degree to which I desire to follow His teachings has increased dramatically over time.

As to your question.
I no longer have a patriotic bone in my body. Satan is running the show down here for now, my Kingdom is not of this world. I gave up voting long ago. I loathe most technology, and probably won't be on this forum very long because of the tech required to participate. I would prefer not to have a cell phone at all, and will be switching from smart to flip by the end of the month most likely. I only have a smart phone now because its helpful as I try to teach myself Greek. And I guess the biggest transition for me, has been my slow but steady drift into pacifism. I'm not quite there yet, but I feel it coming on.

God does not change and neither can I.

Malachi 3:6 - For I am the Lord, I do not change.

I understand what where you are coming from. If I were given a choice of a mountain top or the desert, I would take either. But God has chosen me to proclaim the Gospel, even in today's despair as all this is going away soon and Christ will call us home. But some Churches are still blind in their teaching, and I still have to use the latest tech to keep up because the false churches are using more tech to spread another gospel. The Apostle Paul said that we are Ambassadors for Christ. The day you were born again you became an ambassador and represent Christ, if you only go to a Sunday school class you are still doing the Lord's work. I encourage you to keep going until the end.

Thank you for the post and questions.

Raised in a scientific environment, at one time I embraced Darwin’s theory of evolution completely. Then about 25 years ago, there were some convincing papers from the Intelligent Design community, followed by books on God-controlled evolution by authors like J Polkinghorne and Ian Barbour. In other words, not only is God the creator of all life, but He has been in charge of its evolution as well.

Other: Formerly ambivalent about pre-marital sex, I now believe God only sanctions sex between a man and a woman in covenant marriage. All other sexual relations undermine God’s plan for a just society.

Peace.
