[Mark 1:8 KJV] 8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

This verse clearly states that there are baptisms without water.

We who believe are baptized with the Holy Spirit.

[1Corinthians 12:13 KJV] 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

IS THERE ONLY WATER BAPTISM?

No.

Water Baptism is a “Ritual to satisfy the Eyes of Earthly men … and Induction into membership of that particular Denominational church”.

Spiritual Baptism is A Baptism of the Holy Spirit “entering INTO that man, and NOT seen by the Eyes of earthly men.”

John 14:
[17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Not baptized with the Holy Spirit.

When you believe you are baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ.

Then we are baptized by a human being with water baptism.

Then we are baptized by Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit.

Three different baptisms with three different baptizers.

Your 1st paragraph is flawed logic and totally unscriptural which is why reading beyond is meaningless. The scriptures teach we're baptized into Christ and thereby become part of hus body which is his church. Has nothing to do with modern day denominations created by man.

Yes BUT, water baptism isnt commanded for us, but it was for Israel, as part of the requirement to enter their earthly kingdom (water baptism was not for justification unto eternal life, only to be given entrance into the kingdom)

Not flawed logically.
Yes, John the “Water Baptizer”, Baptized men for men to see / Witness.

Yes, Even John the water Baptizer commented in Scripture regarding Jesus the “Spirit Baptizer” coming to be Water Baptized by John, (which was witnessed by other men.)

Yes, churches accept proof of a Water Baptism, ( being water Baptized in their church, or By letter / certificate of being water Baptized in another church to JOIN That other Church’s membership.

The scriptures teach we're baptized into Christ and thereby become part of hus body which is his church. Has nothing to do with modern day denominations created by man.

Aware Scripture teaches Spiritual Baptism of the Lamb of God…and Scripture revealed John the “water” Baptizer…Baptized with water to reveal to ISRAEL, A Baptizer of God would be coming to Baptize men in the Spirit.

A prelude introduction ( of sorts) of a coming Spiritual BAPTISM.

I don’t believe “Water Baptism” was / is “Required for anyone.”

I believe “Baptism” itself was a new “concept, term,” the people at large were being introduced to, being made aware of.

Baptism… of the Holy Spirit…an actual “event”, no human eyes literally witness.

Acts 2:47

47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved

The Lord adds to the church.

And the Holy Spirit fell on the 11 apostles in Acts 2 as Joel prophesied and as restated by John the Baptist, afterwhich the 11 spoke in other tongues. That was the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and only those upon which the apostle's hands were laid upon did other manifestations of the Spirit happen. They are dead and can no longer lay hands on anyone and there are no more miraculous manifestations of the Spirit happening today. We get the indwelling of the Holy Ghost as per Acts 2:38 but not any so-called baptism of the Spirit today.

dont agree scripture says 1 Corinthians 12 12The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ.
13For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
nothing is said of tongues

You must first have a clear understanding of the text and context of the Corinthian letter and scriptures you mentioned.

The letter was written to the church at Corinth and related to them at that point in time, as is the case with all such scriptures, i.e.: the Roman letter, Ephesian letter, etc.

1 Corinthian 12 discusses the gifts of the Spirit and logic in them, as you referenced, likening them to the physical body, and likewise likening the early church, the body of believers, the body of Christ which was and is the church, and describing the need for the various spiritual gifts so the body of believers could understand and function accordingly and properly as would a physical, human body, with all the parts coordinating with each other.

Those gifts described, were miraculous manifestations of the Spirit, i.e.; prophecy, tongues, discernment, miracles, etc. The gifts were needed then to build and edify the body, the early church, and were made manifest by the laying on of the apostle's hands. Note they were needed then for a reason as stated, but not now, and there are no apostles around anymore by which they can be made manifest by the laying on of their hands; and we now have the complete word of God to guide us, no longer needing such miraculous gifts of the Spirit.

And the scripture you quoted "by one Spirit we were all baptized into the body", is actually in the Greek, IN one Spirit, not BY one Spirit. Yes, we are baptized into Christ at which point we receive the indwelling of the Spirit (Acts 2:38). There is no more miraculous falling of the Spirit like as was recorded in Acts 2 (the 11 apostles), and Acts 10 (Cornelius) nor are any other of the miraculous gifts present today.

In summary.

Its not by the Spirit, which infers and could oddly be used to support the false doctrine of modern day baptism BY the Spirit, but it's "in" the Spirit as the original Greek correctly states, meaning or inferring and supporting being baptized into Christ not by the Spirit, but into the body.

And, the gifts have all ceased long ago, so, the doctrine of speaking in tongues (rather babbling) today, prophecy, etc. Is false. I simply explained why the gifts, including the falling of the Holy Spirit, or baptism of the Holy Spirit, no longer exist as some erroneously believe.

You simply said you disagreed but weren't specific

to be honest neither was you... for the most what you posted i agree with.. however i do feel firmly the gifts of the spirit are still with us today. but far to many proclaim the gifts in the flesh as in boasting.. i do think there is a true gift of tongues // but not so sure its what is used today. once again my take baptism of the spirit is being baptized into the Body of Christ aka the new birth.

Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
1 Corinthians 10:1-2

  • all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

Baptized into Moses foreshadows us being baptized into Christ.

The cloud foreshadows us being baptized with the Holy Spirit.

The sea foreshadows water baptism.

I don’t believe “Water Baptism” was / is “Required for anyone.”
[Mar 16:16 KJV] "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.",,,,,,,,,,,Jesus commanded believing Israel to be baptized
