You lack understanding of the chastisement of God for His people who sin. If the Lord has not disciplined you, you are not His. OSAS does not give a license to sin, quite the opposite. If you haven't been disciplined by God, you need to have a talk with Jesus. I have been disciplined by God. I fear the Lord and His righteous ways of conforming me to His will. Step neither to left or to the right, stay in His will.Well most baptists follow the false doctrine of so called "once saved always saved" so they can continue living in sin and try and believe they are still saved.
I've known people who claim to be committed catholics and they too enjoy living in sin while trying to believe they are saved.
Both camps are in serious error.

I have been disciplined by God.
Your self righteousness is odious. No really, the OP is talking about former catholics only.
Funny how all the OSAS people have sin in their lives.
They even go around very proudly proclaiming to all that they are still sinners! View attachment 75650
If someone continually tells everyone they are a sinner, then why get upset when others call you out for being a sinner?
A sinner is someone who knows to do good but does it not
James 4:17
to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
You believe God is FORCING people to conform to His will?
If so, then that is the claim that it's God's fault for those who are not in His will which comes from the false doctrines of calvinism
Did you get cancer? Car wreck? Lose your job?
Yeah please tell how you think the Lord disciplined you.
This ought to be good![]()
You got caught not knowing what you're talking about about and cannot admit it due to your pride.
All things are possible to God. He created, He can destroy. Unless you want to place limitations on His power.I’d like to know how spiritual beings that are not flesh and blood can be destroyed. I don’t believe they can; they can only be contained. And that is exactly what Jude 1:6 and 2 Peter 2:4 say of the angels that sinned and are kept in “eternal” chains under gloomy darkness.
That's called overreach. It has been constantly used by your church to justify sending people to hell, altering the political landscape of nations, and changing God's laws. God did not give you authority to be God.The Holy Spirit is God and can give authoritative instructions to Christians. And the church was given authority to bind and loose anything on earth and in heaven.
Nothing wrong with working together as you stated = we need more of that in the world.Ecumenicalism is about understanding and cooperating with true unity as a potential effect for some groups. It has nothing to do with works and it is certainly not a religion.
GreatI have not heard of much of that. I do agree that unity for its own sake is an issue. Some have been forced by their groups in choosing between maintaining the faith or staying and going against it. I grew up in a denomination that just some years back wanted to worship homosexuality, women pastors, etc. My childhood church said - nuh uh and voted to go independent with many others.
What my church? And it is just what Christ said. That's called overreach. It has been constantly used by your church to justify sending people to hell, altering the political landscape of nations, and changing God's laws. God did not give you authority to be God.
No – I asked YOU first.Where are the specifically Roman dogmas in scripture?
WRONG.It could have easily been in the LXX and the original Aramaic/Hebrew. Nice try.
No – it wasn’t revised to say that.Yes, but the verse has been revised into a young woman shall conceive. Nice try again.
There are some 65-70 million Catholics in the United States, which is about 22% of the population.A question about a violation of Church and State is paranoid? Get used to conspiracy fact.
Here we go again tithe your usual paranoid SDA anti-Catholic drivel . . .But as a fully fledged paid up card carrying member of the Knights of Columbus, your loyalties do not lie with the place where you are born. Your loyalties are with a foreign power which is an enemy to the United States of America and seeks it's servitude to Papal authority.
Thi sformer Catholic has been reaching out to you = in TRUTH and LOVE from our Heavenly FATHER's WORDI am not following your conversation much but the thread was looking for former adherents to Rome who might be able to lend a hand to assist a brand new Christian with an Islamic background (like myself) who could lend a hand in teaching this brand new Christian why he may not want to join the RCC, all things considered.
The OP creator was hoping for a joint effort.
That does open the door to conversation, generally speaking.
Ecumenical interfaith . Thanks for the question . they grasp at the winds of vainity .grasping at straws is a sign of.....
Really??Which are adhered to above Scripture.
That can’t happen – unless YOU believe Jesus is a Liar . . .Until the church goes into apostasy. So long as the church abides in Him.
Another SDA LIE – what a surprise . . .Interesting you promote the correct idea that OSAS is an erroneous doctrine when applied to other churches, but demand it's truthful when applied to your own.
I’ve been sick in bed for the last week and I just saw this.@BreadOfLife @Chihuahua If I wanted to know how to be saved and be assured of a place in God's Kingdom, what path would I take? What is the complete plan of salvation in the Catholic Church?
Funny - that's exactly what the Early Christians were acused of - by the pagans (Minucius Felix, Octavius ch. 9 - late 2nd century). If you can provide me with a DNA sample from the Eucharist that is something other than wheat I will convert. Until then I will consider it unlawful to expect God to have us resort to a form of vampiric cannibalism for salvation.
You are right...the definitions for cannibalism and vampirism never change.Funny - that's exactly what the Early Christians were acused of - by the pagans (Minucius Felix, Octavius ch. 9 - late 2nd century).
Some things NEVER change . . .
You are right...the definitions for cannibalism and vampirism never change.
Now go and sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you .I’ve been sick in bed for the last week and I just saw this.
The short answer is:
Acts 2:38
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The longer answer is that the Scriptures assure us that as Christians are already saved (Rom. 5:1, 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8). This is initial salvation – God give us the initial grace to believe.
However, because Salvation is a LIFELONG process – it also says we are being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, 7:1, Phil. 2:12, Heb 12:14). This is ongoing sanctification – God is sanctifying us throughout our life as we cooperate with his grace.
Because of this, I have the hope that I will be saved (Matt. 24:13, Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15).
This is final sanctification/salvation – we die and go to Heaven having endured to the end in faith
