The word wine in scripture simply means fruit of the vine and doesn't designate whether it's fermented or not.

Other places in scripture that talks about strong drink or otherwise specifies it causes drunkenness is speaking of wine that is fermented.

In ancient times they made a paste out of fermented grapes where they mixed small amounts of this in to water and they called it wine. (most of the water back then was not clean and it was beneficial to put a little fermented grapes in the water to help off set bacterial and germs as it would be today if drinking unclean water)

But, compared to a glass of wine today what they were doing had a very very small amount of alcohol to the point that would take 10 or more glasses of what they were drinking to equal the alcohol content of what a glass of wine today would be.

Just like drinking kombucha today which does have health benefits, but has a very small amount of alcohol due to fermentation.

To get intoxicated one would have to drink probably 15 to 20 servings of kombucha

So what was called wine then is nothing like what we know as wine today.

Back then those ingesting enough "wine" to get intoxicated were either doing so due to following cult activities (to alter their consciousness to get intoxicated) or they were drunks (outcasts of society) just like today where we see people drinking booze and taking drugs for the purpose of intoxication as they are the dregs of society

It has now been proven that ANY amount of alcohol consumption is harmful to the body thru scientific research so armed with this knowledge, real Christians who actually love the Lord knowing they are not their own and have been bought with a price won't be ingesting anything alcoholic now that we know it is damaging to the body

Just like prior to the discovery that smoking cigarettes or cigars damages the body some Christians were smokers - but real Christians don't smoke now since it's proven that smoking damages the body

This is one way we can know who actually loves the Lord and who is determined to do what they please who reject the leading of the Holy Spirit Who never leads anybody to do things that damage the Temple of the Holy Spirit (the body of those who abide in Christ and allow Christ to abide in them)

No. Drinking alcohol is not a sin. The Fruit of the Spirit is self-control. If you don't have the Spirit or Faith, then much of what one does is sin.

Celebrating "christmas" is not even remotely biblical.

Being thankful Jesus came in the flesh should be a daily thing for real Christians as is being thankful for His resurrection (so called "easter" isn't biblical either)

Feel free to take a stab at showing from scripture where the Lord instructs His people to celebrate christmas or easter for that matter.
