Yes, I`ve been reading many comments and learning what people believe. I think I need to talk to someone first about their thoughts before giving too much advice if any. I prefer to ask questions to make another person think about something. I was a teacher, and I also noted that the Lord seemed to frequently ask people questions to get them to think about a topic too.

Hi Sister, I didn`t think you were disrespectful. I thought since I was just chatting, as it were with Riven and hadn`t quoted scripture or talked about God then you thought I didn`t know he was an agnostic.

Christmas is the celebration of the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Trinity. I was just wondering, what do you mean when you say that you “get in the Christmas spirit”?

For Christians it is. For everyone else, is just another holiday.

There’s lots of literature speculating about the identity of the Star of Bethlehem. Chinese astronomical records show a comet about 5 BC; that might be it.

Or, just another UFO sighting.

Herod died in 4 BC per Josephus, but was alive during the Magi’s visit per Matthew, so the timing works out.

Celebrating the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Trinity is a logical and reasonable act for a trinitarian. (There was a time though when Protestant trinitarians didn’t celebrate it, and even outlawed the celebration.) The reason I don’t celebrate Christmas is because I’m not a trinitarian.

They visited herod, then visited Jesus at 'the house'... herod ordered children to be killed up to age 2.
Did herod see the star?
