* It is written that God - the Father - possesses LIFE [zoe] IN HIMSELF (John 5:26).
* It is written that LIFE [zoe] is IN THE WORD OF GOD (John 1:4).
* It is written that THE WORD OF GOD became a human being (John 1:14).
* It is written that it has been given by God to the Son of God | the Son of man to possess life [zoe] IN HIMSELF.
* It is written that He (Christ) alone
possesses immortality (1 Timothy 6:16). As He (Jesus) said:
"Fear not; I am the first and the last:
I am he that is alive / that liveth [zao],
and was dead;
and, behold, I am alive [zao] to the ages of the ages, Amen;
and I have the keys of hades and of death."
(Revelation 1:17-18)
* It is
not written that the created man and his seed have LIFE life [zoe] IN THEMSELVES -
it is written that:
(a) God breathed (Spirit) the breath of LIFE [zoe] into the nostrils of the man He had created, and Adam became a LIVING [zao] soul / being.
(b) It is
implied by biblical scripture that the LIFE [zoe] that was given by God to Adam was IN THE WORD OF GOD
who had given to Adam to freely eat of THE TREE OF LIFE, but
(c) forbade him to eat of the tree OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL, informing Him that if He did,
dying He would die.
(d) Adam rebelled against the WORD OF GOD and died 930 years later, having lost access to THE TREE OF LIFE [zoe] and as a result,
death came into his experience, so that he would not LIVE | BE ALIVE [zao] forever (he would no longer be immortal).
- Adam did not
possess immortality.
* It is written that the first LIE began with the words "Ye shall NOT surely die" (Genesis 3:4).
* It is
not written that God has given to the seed of the created man to have LIFE [zoe] IN OURSELVES - it is written that it has been given to us to have eternal life [zoe aionios]
IN CHRIST (1 John 5:11-12)
- who is THE WORD OF GOD
IN WHOM IS LIFE [zoe] who became flesh, died for our sins, and rose again from the dead, and said:
"I am the Resurrection [o anastasis]
and the ZOE! (the life).
He who believes in Me, though he die,
yet he shall live (ZAO: he shall be alive)."
(The resurrection of the dead renders the one who died alive again):
"And whoever is ZAO (alive) and believes in Me shall never die."
(shall be immortal) (John 11:23-26).
* It is written that
the dead bodies of Adam and the seed of Adam who have been given eternal LIFE [zoe] IN CHRIST will be:
1. Made alive [zao] again ("quickened"),
having been quickened with the quickening
of Christ's dead body (Romans 8:10-11)
- because we have been
buried with him [sunthapto] in baptism, wherein also all of us are
risen with him [sunegeiro] through the faith of the operation of God,
who has raised him [egeiro] from the dead, And we, being dead in our sins and the uncircumcision of our flesh, he has
quickened together with him [syzoopoieo], having forgiven us all trespasses. (Colossians 2:12-13)
(Christ's dead
body was quickened - not His Spirit. When Jesus died, His Spirit did not die: His soul went into hades (Acts 2:27), where by the Spirit He preached to the spirits in prison (1 Peter 3:18-20),
and His dead body, being quickened [zoopoieo] (made alive by the Spirit), was raised from the dead):
"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." (Jesus, John 6:63).
As Paul said elsewhere:
God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love with which He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins,
(1) He has (past tense) syzōopoiéō (quickened together with) Christ, (by grace ye are saved);
(2) and has (past tense) raised us up together (synegeírō) and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:4-6);
and
2. So because we have been
quickened with Christ when His dead body was quickened, our dead bodies too will be quickened, and we will rise again
bodily from the dead - having been raised with the resurrection of Christ's dead body - hence we will LIVE | BE ALIVE [zao] forever (be immortal) (we shall NEVER die).
"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be quickened [zoopoieo]."
(1 Corinthians 15:22 - where Paul is talking about the resurrection of the body).
