Lie #1 – Their Teachings On The Deity Of Jesus Christ

The Jehovah’s Witnesses deny the Deity of Jesus Christ. “… he was a God, [sic] but not the Almighty God, who is Jehovah…”
(Let God Be True, p. 33, Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society Publications, rev. ed. 1952).

From their beginning, the Jehovah’s Witnesses have categorically denied that Jesus Christ was God in the flesh. The Word of
God, both Old and New Testaments, testify of the Triune, or three Persons of the Godhead. From the first book of the Bible,
where God says “…Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: …”Genesis 1:26, to the last book, there are many
verses that speak of the three Persons of the Godhead. These three are; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy
Spirit.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with
God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:1-2, 14. “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Colossians 2:9.
“And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:11.


Lie #2 – That Jesus Christ Was Resurrected A Divine Spirit

The Jehovah’s Witnesses deny the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. They claim that He was raised a spirit being,
or as an “…invisible spirit creature” (The Kingdom of the Cults, p. 59). The Word of God teaches that Jesus Christ arose from
the dead in a physical, glorified body. Jesus prophesied His bodily resurrection.

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. But he spake of the temple of
his body.” John 2:19, 21.

Jesus spent forty days upon this earth after His resurrection. During this time He was seen by hundreds of people.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas,
then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto
this present, but some are fallen asleep.” I Corinthians 15:3-6.

Not only was He seen by many, but, He ate food with His disciples.
“Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me
have. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and
wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
And he took it, and did eat before them.” Luke 24:39-43.


Lie #3 – That Hell Does Not Exist

The Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that “…the Bible hell is mankind’s common grave…” (Let God Be True, p. 92). The truth is
found in the Word of God. Jesus Christ warns us many times of the place of eternal punishment, torment and destruction.

“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night…” Revelation 14:11.
In Mark 9:48b, Jesus said, “…fire is not quenched.” In Matthew 5:22, Jesus speaks of “…hell fire.” In Luke 16:23, the Word of
God says of the rich man that died and went to Hell “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, …”. Also in verse 24,
he said, “…I am tormented in this flame.” In Revelation 20:15, the Word of God says, “And whosoever was not found written
in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

It is very easy to see that the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ doctrine is an accumulation of lies and distortions of the Word of God.
They have been false in their teaching since their beginning. Do not be led to believe their lies, but believe the Word of God.

The truth is that you do not have to go to Hell, because Jesus paid your sin debt when He shed His Blood for you at Calvary.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

You have a place prepared for you in Heaven, if you will by faith believe and trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. “For God
so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be
saved. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath
of God abideth on him.” John 3:16-17, 36.

As for your exposure about what JW’s teach...I have addressed all of these accusations so many times...but if you like I will address them all again and show you from the Scriptures why they make so much more logical sense than Christendom’s version. I grew up in Christendom, so I know what things bothered my logical mind as I listened to what was taught....and where I saw so much hypocrisy...

The “deity” of Christ is not mentioned once in Scripture, but his divine nature and origin certainly are.
Getting an understanding of what the word “theos” (god) means in Greek rather than an English mistranslation, will be a good starting point. That word is used in the Bible for God, angels, Jesus and even human judges in Israel. It is not a word used exclusively for Yahweh/Jehovah. Try and process that because that idea is the foundation of Christendom’s Theology.....Jesus must be “God” (capital “G”) because “theos cannot mean anything else....that is the first point of error, so nothing more needs to be said. But I will elaborate further...

There is no such word as “Godhead” in the Bible either...
The NCB translates Col 2:9 as...
“For it is in him that the entire fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, and you share this fullness in him who is the head of every ruler and power.”
Interesting rendering from a Catholic translation.

The word in Greek appears only once in the NT.....and is translated as “deity” because the verse is referring to how Jesus reflected the “fullness” his Father’s godly qualities perfectly in his human form....just as we can reflect the qualities of Jesus too, as we can learn about him, to imitate him in his character and his qualities from the NT accounts.

As for John 1:1, it is clear to anyone not indoctrinated with the trinity that “the Word” was “with God”...so how is “ho logos” with “ho theos”...but is never once called “ho theos”? Being called “theos” without the identifying definite article “ho” (meaning THE) Jesus is identified as being divine, but not deity....he was Jewish and Jews worshipped only one God as the apostles collectively affirmed in 1 Cor 8:5-6...

“For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”— yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.” (ESV)

Where is the third member? And why is this supposed third “person” invariably missing from mention of the other two, if they are all equal deity? (John 17:3)

Phil 2:11....”...every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Confessing that Jesus Christ is “Lord” is not confessing that he is “LORD” which identifies the Father. The Jews substituted the title “LORD” for the divine name, but “Lord” was a title of respect used in Bible times such as when a slave addressed his master as “Lord”....Sarah addressed Abraham as “Lord” but they didn’t consider the subject of their address to be “Almighty God”....so Jesus can be “divine” but not “deity”.

Putting three separate “gods” operating as one “deity” is a pagan concept...not something the Jews would ever have tolerated. Their God Yahweh was “one”, not “three”. (Deut 6:4)

We have the utmost respect for Jesus and his Father....but we recognise what Paul said...that the “glory” goes to “the Father” not the Son.

What does the Bible say? Keeping in mind that God’s word cannot contradict itself, but that misinterpretation or mistranslation can alter the meaning of how it was understood in its original language to its original audience.

1 Pet 3:18-20 says...
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.” (ESV)

What is that telling us quite simply? Jesus died “in the flesh” but was “made alive in the spirit”.
Why was that necessary?
In order to redeem mankind, Jesus needed to pay the debt that Adam left for his children, now born in sin through no fault on their part. He gave a sinless life for the sinless life Adam lost for them. This was not to redeem Adam but to rescue his offspring. He didn’t take back his sacrificed body.

But after his mission on earth was successfully carried out, ending in his death, Jesus was confident that his God would not leave him in Sheol/hades (the grave in Hebrew understanding) After three days in his tomb, Jesus was raise as he said he would be....but in what kind of body?

Since flesh and blood cannot exist outside of the earthly realm, (1 Cor 15:50) Jesus was raised with a spirit body so that he could return to where he was before, at his Father’s side. Jesus is always pictured at God’s right hand....but you will not find a single Scripture that says the Holy Spirit was at his left.....why is that do you suppose?

Acts 2:29-33...at Pentecost after seeing the results of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Peter says...

“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.” (ESV)

Read it carefully.....It was God who raised Jesus from the dead.....a God who was in heaven whilst Jesus was on earth....and after his return to life, it was Jesus who poured out the Holy Spirit on his faithful disciples, which he received from his Father, empowering them to do what Jesus did...to perform miracles.
How on earth is this describing one God?
A God who prays to himself and can be in several places at the same time....?

Is there Scriptural precedent for spirit beings materialising and then eating and drinking....yes .

“The smoke of their torment”....is not “the cries of their torment”....so, what is this alluding to?

What happens when a wildfire sweeps through a wooded area? What remains after the fire has been brought under control? Sometimes the “smouldering” will continue for weeks after the flames have used up their fuel. The “smoke” is a reminder of what happened. This is what Jesus meant....because there is no immortal soul to experience any kind of torment after death. The dead are dead....not alive somewhere else. (Eccl 9:5, 10)

“In Mark 9:48b, Jesus said, “…fire is not quenched.” In Matthew 5:22, Jesus speaks of “…hell fire.”

What did this mean? What did Jesus’ Jewish audience understand about “Gehenna”....which is what he was speaking about here, not “hades”. Do you know the difference? Is using the same word for two completely different concepts, honest translation?

How did “Gehenna” differ from “Sheol/hades”? The dead in Sheol/hades were in line for a future resurrection as Jesus promised. (John 5:28-29) The dead are called from their tombs, not from the spirit realm.

“Gehenna” was an opposite destination for the incorrigibly wicked.....those consigned to “Gehenna” had no hope of a resurrection....they would remain in eternal death...as if they never existed....never to be seen or thought of again.
The fire never goes out because “Gehenna” is never removed...it remains as “the lake of fire” to become the final destination for any, who in the future, might want to abuse their free will...which was meant to be a gift....disobedience turned it into a curse. “Death and hades” are done away with. (Rev 20:13-14)

The original “Gehenna” was a garbage dump outside the walls of Jerusalem where the bodies of those not considered worthy of a decent burial, were cast into the flames for disposal. The fires never went out and what the flames missed the maggots finished off.....It meant no burial site with their names and family lineage inscribed, so that in the resurrection, God would have them called from their graves as Jesus indicated. How is justice served by an eternal punishment for crimes committed in sin that was not our fault to begin with?

Gehenna is not a place of eternal conscious torment, as that is completely opposite to God’s justice and his personality. All punishments received in Israel had the intended result of repentance....even if one was facing the death penalty for a crime committed, repentance was the difference between a resurrection and remaining in Gehenna. Remember the thief who was hung with Jesus...he repented before his death and Jesus promised him a a place in “paradise”...not heaven.
God is the one who determines who is sent to which destiny.

“The rich man and Lazarus” is a parable, which taken literally, is ridiculous!
Are heaven and hell within speaking distance to each other? Can a single drop of water cool a man’s tongue in a fire?
If you read the verses before the parable, you will see who the rich man represented. (Luke 16:14-15)

Please try to understand what the whole Bible teaches, as opposed to what the divided and lost church systems teach....especially about life and death....about the soul and the spirit.....and between those chosen for a role in heaven and those who are not.

Find out how “the meek shall inherit the earth” and what Jesus meant when he said that with the coming of God’s “Kingdom”, God’s is done “on earth as it is in heaven”.....

Find out what the Kingdom of God is....how it comes....to whom it comes...and what it will do for the redeemed human race.....then you will understand all those empty verses quoted by those who have no idea what the Bible teaches outside of their indoctrinated theology.

There a whole new world of understanding if only you would open your hearts...the truth is there in God’s word. Only God can help you discern it. (John 6:44; 65)

Nor does it explain how the ocean’s tides are controlled by the moon which is outside of earth’s atmosphere. The moon is orbiting the earth as the earth is orbiting the sun.....Gravity is the thing that stops us getting travel sickness....and being swamped in a watery bubble.

It is explained that at any given moment you are spinning with the earth at great speed....racing around the sun while you do that....and flying with the galaxy through the Universe at a speed that would normally interfere with everything around you...but nothing around you is moving discernibly except the sun, moon and stars....all on the outside of the stable bubble that contains us.

It has also been described as....surfing on a rotating rock, on a gravitational racetrack, through spacetime....comprehend that if you can....

And tell me why every other body in space is spherical. Why don’t we fall off the edge?
The moon, the sun and the stars are all spherical, why would the earth be any different?

You show so much patience! I just don't have that much, toward those who are arrogant and unwilling to reason;
either unwilling, or incapable (due to their current spiritual blindness). 2 Corinthians 4:4

But as you point out, maybe for others who will read your rational responses, it will reach their heart.

I’ll remember that next time I drop something and wonder why it fell down and not up....

Galileo didn’t have a blue/green screen.....He used a telescope. What he saw in space, though not in the kind of definition we have today....was spherical objects in space. I have used a telescope to look at the stars, David...have you? Have you seen the rings around Saturn? Would you see those rings if that planet was flat? Can you tell me why you think the earth must be flat? And that gravity does not exist?

When we see a solar eclipse, the shadow of the moon completely blocks out the sun.....you can see the shape of the moon across the sun as it comes and goes. The distance of the moon from the sun makes it fit exactly over the sun so that we see a halo around it.

When we view a full moon, it is round, but why is it that the phases of the moon show a curved shape, and not a half circle?

How many things in earthly creation are round? Do you know what creates the round shapes that we so often see in nature?
