How did God impregnate Miriam? That is the question but just as important is how did Christianity develop such a negative view towards sexuality when there is nothing to support that in the scriptures?
So did Yahweh have sex with Miriam? AAHHHHH!!!! God would not have had sex with Miriam, sex is dirty, nasty, sinful, and of the devil! That is sacrilegious!! Evil! Demonic!!!!
As a Theologian I run into this type of ignorance quite often. I worship with several different denominations and because I love Christians.....I tolerate the ignorance. Over the years Christianity developed a negative view of sexuality. There are some people that see the whole process as sinful. They see the initial attraction that a couples have for each other as lust. And some thought/think even sex after marriage is considered sinful. Part of this was caused by the false doctrine of Original Sin. Where sin itself is created by sex and impregnation. Babies born with sin go to Hell if they die. (False beliefs are powerful and harmful.) My ministry is to expose false beliefs and explain the truth, even if they do not believe me, Christians deserve to at least be told the truth.
As far as debating whether Yahweh had sex with Miriam to impregnate her, or not? The scriptures say what they say and they use all the terms associated with normal procreation and no terms like miraculous or manifested or created are used. But the Bible does use the words begotten, conceive, and impregnate (to be with child) and gave birth and born. Father and Son. Normal words for the normal process of procreation.
And what was the purpose of the New Covenant?
The salvation of Man Kind.
Establishing a closer relationship with Yahweh.
Opening the gates of Heaven to Mankind.
Well the impregnation of Miriam was a closer relationship. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.
In fact, as far as biblical descriptions of the sexual act, Yahweh’s impregnation of Miriam is the most detailed account of the sexual union in the entire Bible. Usually the scriptures are more modest referring to it as knowing, like “he knew his wife” or… And Seth lived a hundred and five years, and begot Enosh. Or A loving doe, a graceful deer-- may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be intoxicated with her love. Proverbs 5:19 Or the sexual symbolisms in the Songs of Solomon.
The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35
But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. Luke 1:30-31
Then again other than it was Yahweh impregnating Miriam, was there anything miraculous happening…..and if it was Yahweh miraculously causing Miriam to be pregnant, would Yeshua be the actual Son of Yahweh or a creation? There are accounts in the Bible of Yahweh causing women to be pregnant but their offspring were not sons of God.
And for those that believe that Yeshua was preexisting….how did He do it? Did He make Himself a fetus and beam Himself into Miriam’s womb. And again, if that is what happened, how could He be the Son of God. Kind of hocus pocus and sci-fi-ish. It would just be Him. And the Bible says she gave birth….so she was not a virgin….He did not beam Himself out.
One of the reasons that there are over 30,000 Protestant denominations is because people want to superimpose what they like or believe over and above the scriptures. 30,000 attempts to get it right but never really did, when their beliefs would be more accurate if they just let the scriptures guide their beliefs rather than trying to twist the scriptures to what they believe.
But still for me, I do not care how Yahweh impregnated Miriam, I am just taking the scriptures for what they say, what else should a Theologian do? I was born without a fear bone so I am perfectly suited for standing up for the Word of God.
So then ask yourselves this question; How did Christianity come up with this negative view of sexuality, if it is not in the scriptures? God could kill, but He would not have sex?
