The New Covenant of the Spirit lets us be a part of the Sabbath rest by abiding IN Him, and He IN us. The problem with the old way of keeping the Ten Commandment was because they all must be kept by our own puny willpower, but with a fully operational sin nature that is naturally in opposition to righteousness! Jesus take away the desire to commit lawlessness, thus cleansing our sin nature into a clean nature, John 15:3. Those born again of the Spirit cannot commit sins of lawlessness which are sins unto DEATH because the Author of our faith has taken them away including the desire. That is why the Old Covenant is called the ministry of death in 2 Cor. 3. Now that the born again have a clean nature that may partake of the divine nature of God, 2 Peter 1:2-4, all that is left now for Jesus to accomplish in us as the Finisher of our faith, are the maturing of each of the fruit of the Spirit, sins NOT unto death, but we MUST be abiding in Him for that to come to completion. These imperfections of fruit are the only type of sin 1 John 1:7 is referring to. Without a sin nature we automatically keep the other 9 commandments as they are now part of our new nature and instead of keeping them in opposition to our sin nature, we keep them naturally as part of what we will do naturally.

No, the old man is crucified; our new nature is clean, just like Adam's was before he sinned. What we do have still is free will. But most importantly we must have the Spirit of Christ in us or we can go to church all our lives and still go to hell because abiding in Him, and His Spirit of Christ indwelling us is the only way Jesus truly knows us. As far as reckoning ourselves free from sin. Paul is not asking us to lie to ourselves, he's telling us to tell ourselves the Truth that Jesus has taken away all past sin and the desire to sin in the future from our nature which He cleanses us from all unrighteousness, so as to not be swayed by some wolf in sheep's clothing. Who have you been listening to to make you believe we still have a sin nature? But maybe you do, Luke 11:13. Jesus said, we must be born again. I was in church for 30 years before being born again of the Spirit. It made all the difference in the world! Now, I don't have to sin anymore. The desire to commit a sin unto death is gone. I am an obedient slave of righteousness.

The first five of Ten Commandments are based on the same principles as the last five, but are expressed differently in regard to our vertical relationships with our creators or with our horizontal relationships with our neighbor, and these five principles are expounded upon throughout the rest of the Mosaic Law. For example, the 2nd Commandment against idolatry is to our relationship with God wha the 7th Commandant against adultery is to our relationship with our neighbor. However, Paul was a servant of God, so he also taught to keep the Sabbath holy.

In Matthew 4:15-23, Jesus began his ministry with the Gospel message to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand, which was a light to the Gentiles, and the Law of God was how his audience knew what sin is (Romans 3:20), so repenting from our disobedience to it is a central part of the Gospel of the Kingdom/Grace, which Paul also taught based on the Law of God (Acts 14:21-22, 20:24-25, 28:23), and which includes repenting from breaking the Sabbath. Christ also set a sinless example for us to follow of how to walk in obedience to the Law of God, which included keeping the Sabbath holy, and we are told to follow his example (1 Peter 2:21-22), that those who are in Christ are obligated to walk in the same way that he walked (1 John 2:6), and to be imitators of Paul as he is of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). So both Christ and Paul taught to obey the Law of God by word and by example, which included keeping the Sabbath holy.

Paul also made in clear in a number of places that we should repent from our sins. In Colossians 2:16-23, they were celebrating the Sabbath and God's other feasts in accordance with the example that Christ and Paul set for us to follow, they were being judged because they were doing that by pagans who were promoting human traditions and precepts, self-made religion, asceticism, and severity to the body, and Paul was encouraging them not to let anyone prevent them from obeying God.

How can someone sold under sin now establish the law? My question for you to think about and answer is, do we still commit lawless sin against God after the Spirit? And are we still sold under sin after being born again of the Spirit?

Certainly the Christian does not "make void the law" (as some try to do) through faith, but the Christian most certainly "establish[es] the law", demonstrating its permanence in always pointing out sin (Rom. 7:7,14; Jam. 2:8-13; 1 Jhn. 3:4 KJB), as the written standard of God's character (Exo. 33:12-23, 34:1-9, 20:5-7 KJB).

Technically it would be the first two, to love God first and to love your neighbor as yourself.

That’s what Jesus did in order to fulfill the Mosaic Covenant and put it down.

Moving into the world we live into day, with God living within all people, even Jesus lives in all people. However whether or not they are spiritually alive today or not remains completely on the individual having faith.

I know this is for sure the 10 commandments where not written to us to fulfill… it was to the specific what was it the 12 groups of Israel regardless if they kingdom had split or not.

Jesus fulfilled the mosaic covenant by loving God and loving his neighbor as himself.

Paul did indeed restate the essence of the ten EXCEPT for the sabbath
Lets look at the verses you gave to show he did

[Romans 2:17 KJV] "Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,"
[Romans 2:19 KJV] "And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,"
[Romans 2:20 KJV] "An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law."
[Romans 2:21 KJV] "Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?"......................Paul was not telling them to keep the law he was showing them they couldnt be righteous by keeping the law...........[Romans 3:9 KJV] "What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;"

[Romans 13:8 KJV] "Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law."
[Romans 13:9 KJV] "For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
[Romans 13:10 KJV] "Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law."..............How could the sabbath be fulfilled by loving your neighbor? The sabbath was only a day of rest................[Exodus 20:9 KJV] "Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:"
[Exodus 20:10 KJV] "But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:"

[Ephesians 4:28 KJV] "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth."................This is one of the ten commandments that are reflected by Paul but has no relationship with the sabbath.

Of course it is not about 're-establishing' since it was never -un-established- to begin with. This is why Hebrews 4 states, it "remaineth" from the "foundation of the world". Are you sure you are reading the same book of Hebrews I am (KJB)?

Hi A, you didn't answer my question. What day did Paul say was our Sabbath rest. He did refer back to when it was the 7th, but what is it about in the New Covenant?

Certainly the Christian does not "make void the law" (as some try to do) through faith, but the Christian most certainly "establish[es] the law", demonstrating its permanence in always pointing out sin (Rom. 7:7,14; Jam. 2:8-13; 1 Jhn. 3:4 KJB), as the written standard of God's character (Exo. 33:12-23, 34:1-9, 20:5-7 KJB).

Here again, the New Covenant is all about our Sabbath rest. And Romans 7 gives us why? The verses in Romans 7 you keep referring to are about the Old Covenant. What is special about the New?
