The bible says no such thing. Abraham was not an Israelite, much less a Jew, as there were no such thing as Jews or Israelites when the promise was made. Furthermore, the promise that was made was conditional. As a people, the majority of Abraham's descendants repeatedly violated their end of the agreement.

I want to correct you on two points here Wrangler.....

1) We are “in the world”....and we have no choice about that.....but Christ told us to be “no part” of it. (John 18:36) He didn’t say “except for politics and war”.
“No part” means “no part” of a world that God handed over to the devil. (Luke 4:5-7) So how much of the world is not under satan’s Control?

“We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.”
There are no “good guys” in rulership positions because satan is the one controlling what they do. He is the one behind the scenes, pulling the strings, and you are supporting his puppets.

The difference between a sanctioned war and and unsanctioned one is God’s permission. God has not sanctioned a war for his worshippers since the days when he fought for Israel on their own soil.

By God’s permission, the rulers have authority to enforce their own laws, but as Christians we are under God’s laws first. So whatever “the world” under satan does, is none of our business.....we must not be part of it. We are law abiding citizens but we obey God first.
That is a very difficult thing for patriotically indoctrinated people to do. In your country it begins in infancy....and once you introduce that kind of loyalty to a nation, you cancel out loyalty to God.....because you cannot serve those two masters. Church and state are an unholy alliance.

2) The “Prince of Peace” is indeed the son of a King, who is co-regent with his Father in bringing the human race back into reconciliation with the God from whom they defected through wilful disobedience.

Jesus is no longer “waiting”....he has received full authority from his Father as he told his disciples before his departure whilst giving them his final instructions....

“He told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and earth. Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this—that I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” (Matt 28:18-20 TLB)

The “waiting” he was told to do after his ascension was “until I make your enemies your footstool.”

“This is the declaration of the LORD to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The LORD will extend Your mighty scepter from Zion. Rule over Your surrounding enemies. . . .The LORD has sworn an oath and will not take it back: “Forever, You are a priest like Melchizedek.” The LORD is at Your right hand; He will crush kings on the day of His anger. He will judge the nations, heaping up corpses; He will crush leaders over the entire world.” (Psalm 110:1-2, 5-6 HCSB)

Who is doing the ‘crushing’ of “the leaders over the entire world”? It is Jesus and his angelic forces....with the power of God’s spirit.......no human disciples of Christ will be involved in the catastrophe that will end the world as we know it....but will we be among the casualties because of misplaced loyalty?

This is God’s War against his enemies.....those who side with the world, side with the one who rules it....they will find themselves on the losing side....protesting that they were “Christians” but failing to see who they were really giving support to.

Jesus is already here, and has been for many decades, overseeing the work he commanded his disciples to do. (Matt 24:14) He gave them the “sign of his presence” because it was not going to be observed any other way. (Matt 24:3-14)
He was going to return “in the same manner” as he left....the world was not aware that it happened, only his closest disciples observed it. Extraordinary world events would herald it.....few would be privy to it.

Christ’s “coming” as judge and executioner (a completely separate event) will be clearly observed by all....and the “goats” will lament that they have failed to observe Christ’s commands....failing to support Christ’s “brothers” in this time of the end. (Matt 25:31-46) But rather supporting their chosen political rulers.

And how will he ultimately bring peace? By the exact sanctioning of wars and bloodshed you rail against.

The war and bloodshed at the end of this entire world system, are not performed by any human....it is God’s war, and his angels are led by his reigning King. Christ’s earthly disciples will be unarmed and dependant on the protection that God will provide for them.

Those who “take up the sword (or any weapon) will die by the sword”....as Jesus said. True Christians don’t need weapons....they have the most powerful force in the Universe on their side.
