The Mount of Olives is splitting!

Hi,

There was just word of this on the internet, apparently there are cracks appearing in the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem! There is a scripture-

And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west,
Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south. -Zechariah 14:4

The scripture says that Christ will stand on the mount of olives at His second coming and the mountain will split in 2! These cracks may be a sign that Christ will soon return! IF you want to see the video about this link is here:

I think the prophecy states the the Lord will split it in half at His return.

Zec 14:4

The Mount of Olives sits right next to the major plate boundary known as the Dead Sea Transform. This is a large strike-slip fault system running from the Red Sea up through the Jordan Valley. It has been gradually splitting for centuries.

It's not false, but it isn't a new development. The Mount of Olives sits near the fault line of the Great Rift Valley, where two continents are moving apart (picture). You've probably seen news in your feed about "Africa is splitting apart" and it's the same story. It's a long fault line.

And it's been happening for centuries. What's happening isn't the sudden event the Bible prophesied. It does perhaps tell us HOW that event will eventually come about.

Ahh yes, God's conundrum of Zech. ch. 14.
Yes, the feet of Jesus DID literally STAND IN the Mount of Olives.

I have a theory that's even more wild than what you are proposing! Jesus Himself is that "very great valley", that the people of Judea and Israel are to "flee to".
It's the only situation whereby the cleaving/separation of Judea and Israel can be "joined as one stick" [in Jesus]. Ezk. 37:15-19.

Also, how about the scriptural fact that during the night time of Jesus mortal ministry, Jesus spent His nights up IN the Mount of Olives, where He spent most of his time "confirming the [New] covenant" with his disciples.

And of course the house of Judah and the house of Israel did "CLEAVE in the midst thereof" [separate, divide] along the line of the Mount of Olives, which became a marker of their line of division between "the north" and "the south".

When I think of the mount of olives splitting I think about two groups of people making their position.

To either continue faithfully towards God because of Jesus, or to reject them both. In that day in time, Jesus was made known to them, along with what would come when Jesus did return in which the signs they would have seen with the destruction of Jerusalem.
