Did you find where God told Moses to keep the 10 commandments???
David,
God directly told Moses to keep and preserve the commandments in several places. The clearest place concerning the Ten Commandments is after God spoke them from Mount Sinai:

Exodus 24:12 (ASV)
"And Jehovah said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee the tables of stone, and the law and the commandment, which I have written, that thou mayest teach them."

Then God specifically instructed Moses to place and preserve them:

Deuteronomy 10:1–5 (ASV)
"At that time Jehovah said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood. And I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark... And I turned and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are, as Jehovah commanded me."

So Moses was commanded not only to receive them, but also to keep them safely in the Ark of the Covenant.

and;

Deuteronomy 4:13–14 (ASV)
"And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even the ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone. And Jehovah commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and ordinances..."

The pattern is: God wrote them, gave them to Moses, commanded Moses to teach them, and had them placed in the Ark as something holy to be preserved and kept. That is what Jesus did during His ministry and he explained how to keep them properly from the heart.

Blessings

The Ark represents MESSIAH = The Place where the commandments along with Aarons' rod that budded

Yeshua HaMashiach is the Ark of the New Covenant for all who will believe.
In MESSIAH is the Perfect Law of God

On Top of the Ark was the Mercy Seat
MESSIAH is the Mercy Seat of GOD

On the Mercy Seat was the Blood placed for the sins of the nation.
MESSIAH shed His Own Blood for the sins of Israel and for the whole world = Jew & Gentile
One Law for both the Jew & the Gentile
One Mercy Seat for the Jew & Gentile
One Sinless Blood Shed for the sins of the world

Upon the Mercy Seat is where the Presence of the LORD came down to appear before Moses
MESSIAH is the very Presence & Essence of GOD who came down to appear before all men for Salvation to all men who will believe.

Let me show you , or i should say Remind you , of what i see folks doing .
They use meats drinks and days as a means to rage war and to condemn those who do not keep as they do .
And yet they t hemselves will be in actual sin and even supporting sins .
An example .
There once dwelt an adventists . Who was fast and quick to remind me not to eat certain meats .
OF course i did not aruge with him due to his weaker faith .
HOWEVER , now pay close attention to his response to me when i had said something that IS a sin for me to do .
I told him i cannot be remarried cause i actually put away my wife , had actually cheated on her .
TO which his response was , OH GOD gives grace , then quoates the bible where it says its not good for man to be alone .
SO lets examine his mindset shall we .
ITS A SIN for me to eat certain meats , BUT NOT A SIN FOR ME TO COMMIT ADULTERY .
God dont give grace to eat certain meats , BUT HE DO TO COMMIT ADULTERY .
DO YOU SEE the problem yet . The man acts like meats drinks and days ARE A SIN if not kept the way
HIS WOMAN LEADER ELLEN WHITE said it should
BUT then acts like ADULTERY , HEY nothing to see here , ITS FINE , we got GRACE.
SIN IS SIN . meats drinks and days are Willl worship to GOD . And however one views certain days
Is how one views certain days . let not also the brother of strong faith
Try and persuade he who is of the weak faith , TO EAT or etc . cause if that one eats not of f aith
OH it be sin to such a one . LET he who has liberty not use it to do harm to the weaker one .
BUT SIN , THAT IS SIN . now that itself MUST be corrected .
Religion is outward and the weakness of the flesh loves to be religious before God.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: - Romans 8:3

Who here is not a man? The word Jesus used means mankind. Its made for all of us, and the Bible tell us why God made it for us, to keep the Sabbath day holy Exo20:8-11 so we can focus on God Isa58:13 so God can bless Isa56:2 and sanctify us Eze20:12 God wants to spend holy time with His children and He knows we can't sanctify ourselves Isa66:17 sadly many refuse to accept this gift God gives us.

Its sad what people try to tear down what Jesus is LORD of. Its like someone coming into our house and ordering it to be torn down.

the Command ifor the saturday sabbath IS the 4th COMMANDMENT Jesus did not abolish it nor should we. The 4th commandment as all the other 9's make the ten commandments, the Covenant, Jesus told us to enter heaven to keep the commandments. say what you want, but the truth about it was spoken by God in person and God does not change. Jesus , the 12 and Paul kept it, to say its for Israel only is absolutely false! To say it is Old covenant is absolutely false! I have posted scripture proving this here on this thread already. I can prove all I write here but you cannot prove and will never prove the sabbath command is abolished or was changed to another day. @David in NJ sorry David you're wrong on this one and cant prove it either.

In the new covenant every day is Christmas, Easter, Pentecost and Sabbath because we are resting in Him.

Question: What is the symbolism of Aarons rod that budded
Aaron's rod that budded is a picture of God's choice, life coming from what is dead, and His authority being confirmed by Him rather than by people. The event happened after Israel was arguing about who had the right to serve before God. God told the leaders of the tribes to place their staffs before Him. Aaron's rod, from the tribe of Levi, was placed with them. By morning, Aaron's dead wooden staff had changed: "And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and put forth buds, and produced blossoms, and bare ripe almonds." (ASV, Numbers 17:8)

Several symbols are often seen in it from Scripture itself: God's chosen authority. Israel was questioning whom God had appointed. The budding rod was God's answer. A dead stick cannot make itself live. God showed that He had chosen Aaron. "And it shall come to pass, that the rod of the man whom I shall choose, shall bud..." (ASV, Numbers 17:5)

Life from death. A rod is cut from a tree. It is no longer alive and has no roots. Yet it suddenly produced buds, flowers, and fruit. Something dead became living again. Many see this as a pattern of how God brings life where there was no life.

Notice the order: buds, blossoms, then almonds. There was growth and fruit. Scripture often uses fruit as a picture of the result of a life connected to God and growth in his light.

Jesus later used similar language: "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit..." (ASV, John 15:5)

It also symbolizes A sign to stop rebellion and unbelief. God commanded the rod to be kept as a reminder: "Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion..." (ASV, Numbers 17:10)

The rod was later kept inside the Ark of the Covenant together with the manna and the tablets of the covenant (Hebrews 9:4). The three objects together form an interesting picture: the Commandments showed God's Covenantal Eternal Law, the manna showed God's provision, and Aaron's rod showed God's appointed priesthood.

Many Christians also see Aaron's rod as a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ because life came from what was dead and because God Himself confirmed His chosen High Priest. But the direct meaning in Numbers is first about God confirming Aaron and ending the dispute among Israel. But its all of these, everything in the bible ultimately points to Christ.

Hi,
I really want to keep the Sabbath holy, but I'm not sure what ''resting'' really means?
I mean, if I have one day of rest from everything, does that mean:
I do not cook anything.
You stay home and don't go out and drive?
You don't drive to church on Sunday?
You don't do grocery shopping?
You don't talk on the phone with anyone?
Obviously, you don't clean your house on that day.

What does resting on a particular 7th day of the week (Sabbath) really look like?
Thank you for the clarity.
Good Day to you, thelord's_pearl, how are you all? I'm praying for your very important questions, by learning to understand what it is to live a Holy life first, and see for myself what He has spoken to His people about, being Holy to live that kind of life, in which we should live. Because the days of the weekly cycle are very important. As His Sabbaths and Holy Convocations/Feast Days go together. In Leviticus 23:1-44 KJV, Isaiah 58:1-14 KJV, Luke 4:1-16-19-44 KJV, if interested. And other related scriptures.

Love, Walter

Jesus is quoting when things were made.

Man was made for the Sabbath, man came first Gen1:26, than the Sabbath Exo20:11 Gen2:1-3 hence why the Sabbath was not made for man, it was the opposite. And the Bible tells us why God made the Sabbath for man, not to do whatever we want on it, but to spend holy time with our Creator. Isa58:13

When God tells us to do something like He did with keeping the Sabbath day holy- both written and spoken by God to claim what He asks us to do if we love Him as "horrific" is not something I am able to reason with.

Aah, don't confuse the practice of keeping the Sabbath, with what it represents.

Israel was commanded to keep the Sabbath every seventh day, as "a light unto the gentiles"--to show every other nation and people--the plan of God as He first declared it to Israel. That plan of God was given by Moses in the book of Genesis in the creation story, wherein the seventh day God finished His work and rested. The rest of the scriptures and certainly the gospels, then point to the Day of the Lord, a day where all of God's work will be finished with all of God's people from among Israel and also all the other nations of the gentiles. Jesus formed His explanation of "that day" giving many examples of that day, saying "the kingdom of God is like..." followed by an example.

So keeping the Sabbath was actually only for Israel to keep as a practice--a practice of what they were practicing for--which was "that Day of the Lord" where all who are His enter into God's rest...meaning heaven, where all are at peace and free of the troubles of this world.

We as gentiles, reading of the practice are not really to keep it as a practice, but rather to receive that rest of God by receiving Christ. Which means surpassing the need for any further "practice." The practice was finished when Jesus said, "It is finished." After which He entered into the rest of God, and then sent the Holy Spirit to allow us to do so also. He was the "firstfruits of the Spirit" (plural), because after Him we also receive the Spirit, which is to be born again. In this way, we "follow" Him--therefore He said, "Follow Me!"

As for "keeping the Sabbath holy", again, Israel kept it holy by doing what they were commanded. We as gentiles (not Israel), on the other hand, keep the Sabbath holy by keeping our part in Christ holy--as we are His body. Meaning, if we do not keep Christ holy, we tarnish both ourselves and God. How do we keep from doing that? We do as the scriptures say, "Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16). Meaning, to always be mindful of what God would want or not want us to do. And also, regarding our body of flesh and sin, "bring it into subjection" of the spirit of Christ in us (1 Corinthians 9:27).

Which does not mean we will be successful--for our body of flesh and sin that was condemned once to die, if it is still alive God is not through with subjecting it to the sins of this world. Meaning, that the things we were prone to do before being born again of the spirit that may or may not have bothered us or caused us to feel guilty, we now have a conscience for not doing--which is the spirit of Christ in us--and what pains Him now pains us. Which continues until these bodies of sin and flesh pass.
Excellent post except for one MOST Important part.

Keeping of the sabbath is for the Jew and the Gentile = which is CHRIST

FIXED = Jew and Gentile "keep the Sabbath holy by keeping our part in Christ holy--as we are His body. And also, regarding our body of flesh and sin, "bring it into subjection" of the spirit of Christ in us (1 Corinthians 9:27)."

You just twisted the words of CHRIST !!!

Satan did that in the Garden(Gen ch3) and has never stopped.

Religion is truly horrific, as it deceives people into thinking they are righteous before God by their religion/works.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” 11But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” 12Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.”

13Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Show where I did that.

Mark 2:27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. 28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”

When was man made? When was the Sabbath made? Now show by Scripture not your words where the Sabbath was made before man? It wasn't man was made first Gen 1:26 than God made the Sabbath for man Exo20:11 Gen2:1-3 hence the Sabbath was made for man, not the other way around.
Satan did that in the Garden(Gen ch3) and has never stopped.

Which law is Paul quoting? He tells us. Its not the commandments written by God Himself that He tells us in His own written Testimony to keep for those who love Him. Why would it be a curse to only worship God or not steal from our neighbor? Or do what God asks? The curse has and will always be when we elevate ourselves over what God asks, that we know better than He.

Religion is outward and the weakness of the flesh loves to be religious before God.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: - Romans 8:3
Reader beware for though what you wrote is correct , I SEEN this used to fo re ver silence the voices
of those who do correct sin and do warn .
Phrases souding real good yet often used for a very dark and sinistir purpose . TO FULLFILL the desires
of the judge not correct not klan . OH i seen it used david and far more than once .
Religion is and can darn sure be an outward appearance all right .
BUT if one claims to KNOW GOD , HIS CHRIST and their outward appearance be not HOLY but rather wordly
and going with the flow . OH DEAR THAT INSIDE HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED .
OH how religious would and do they make EVEN PAUL , PETER < JAMES < JESUS HIMSELF appear
by their versions of the so called jesus and spirit they talk about .
SO watch OUT . YOU remember HOW very grave paul and them all were ab out SIN , ever once in the churches .
YOU keep that in mind .
THIS sheep only gonna double down on my warnings . And to warn all to beware a sensual unity
of a lets just get along mindset . I already seen the damage that inflicted upon the churches . MAJOR damage .
Course i aint saying you have anything TO DO WITH that false stuff . JUST reminding you , THIS brother
IS gonna remain grave , IS gonna warn anytime i see any kind of error and false doctrine . And do so quickly i must and shall .

The REBELLION of KORAH . from whence did this come my friend .
From the heart of wicked men who desired TO LORD over the people . IF that seems hard to beleive
GO back and read what THEIR DESIRE was and WHY they accused Aaron and moses .
Men of renown all right . MEN who d esired to lead the people , BUT FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS .
And i just bet it was to be SEEN OF MEN .
These men and women of belial who chant , holler , and dance
and say things like WHERE I WALK IS HOLY G ROUND
are so full of themselves they could taste their own feet if it were possible .
And make no mistake about them popes either . THEY might appear so have a form of humility
that the NAR REALM does not have . OH bu TTHEY DO nothing but preach rebellion to this people
and sit in chairs and desire flattering titles of MOST HOLY this or that .
And this sheep WILL DO no such thing . NO flattering titles they desire shall i give them .
FOR if i were to give flatteries ......................YEAH read our bible .
i dont sit under these . but i will do one thing for them . THIS ONE thing i will surely do for them .
EXPOSE every last one of them and their false doctrine and warn all to go no where near them .
