We make it too complicated! A child can understand God's will for us.
In the beginning God.. and the Word was with God and was God
The Word became flesh
He came down from heaven and dwelt among us
Repent
Believe on the Lord Jesus- for the forgiveness of your sins
We love God because He first loved us.!!!
Be baptized and gather with other believers
Trust Him and read the scriptures
-Abide in His love- yield to the Spirit
Pray for understanding and for all things
Forgive others
Treat others the way you want to be treated-
do good for others
Give mercy
Beware of the snare of wealth- be generous
Don't worry- trust and pray!
Walk with God in the Spirit putting to death the deeds of the flesh
If you do sin- apologize and plead the blood of our precious Lord
Never get too wise in your own eyes- stay humble
Share the love of God with others as you are able
Rejoice in the Lord always! Focus on good things!
Love and obey- He is the only way-
We will all stand before Christ to answer for the deeds we did in our bodies.

Let the petty fights begin- I have nothing more to say!
May you all be blessed! Hb

I am so grateful Jesus never thought to deliver his message with a preamble like, I'm going to dumb this down for those who just don't get it.

What our Lord and Master did say regarding his good news and the understanding of it, is proven time and again.

It’s a good point. For over a decade, I’ve aimed for brevity, knowing it is the soul of wit. My wife is fond of boiling it all down to Love God. Love others.

Doesn‘t get simpler than that with the caveat of loving God starts with obeying his commands. And loving other people means treating them with the kindness you’d want to be treated yourself. In other thread I made the point of trying to be everyone’s friend, which I consider the appropriate mindset to be a peacemaker.

Of course, with everything there are limits. See Odo Amoris.

Ordo amoris (Latin for "order of love") is a concept in Catholic theology concerned with the proper ordering of Christian love. It is sometimes conflated with the related ordo caritatis (Latin for "order of charity".)
Deriving from the Augustinian works The City of God and On Christian Doctrine, and expanded upon by Thomas Aquinas in Summa Theologica, the concept has been interpreted as establishing an interconnected hierarchy in terms of which "special regard" is to be paid to those persons who, "by the accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection" with the Christian individual. In modern philosophy, ordo amoris has primarily been associated with the German philosopher Max Scheler and his work on emotional life.

Yes, do you understand the connection of Ordo amoris to everything is limited?

Wonderful post. We often do make things more complicated than Scripture does. The Lord has spoken plainly enough for a child to understand the way of salvation, and plainly enough for every believer to know how to walk.

Jesus said, “Repent ye, and believe the gospel” ~Mark 1:15. Paul said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” ~Acts 16:31. And once we belong to Him, we are called to walk in the Spirit, put sin to death, forgive others, love one another, and keep our eyes on Christ.

The Christian life is deep, but it is not meant to be twisted into confusion. Christ saves, Christ leads, and Christ will judge. That is enough to keep us humble and faithful.
