Hi, Peace and Blessing to you all.

A little about myself, I was born Catholic but I converted to the Coptic Orthodox Church at the age of 15 where I found my home. My faith is most important to me and I love God unconditionally with all my heart and strive to walk in righteousness before him. Now I'm 20, in college and I'm stumbling and feeling like an outsider among most of my peers.

I joined to find friendship and to learn more about other denominations.

Hi and Welcome Chamomilla- I grow chamomile my garden. :no reply: for tea.
I would love to hear the difference between the 2 churches, if you have time.

How great! I love chamomile tea as well.

The Churches differ fundamentally in many aspects. The Roman Catholic Church is headed by the Pope who is considered infallible and has universal jurisdiction while my Church is headed by the Pope of Alexandria who is the "first among equals" and the Church is governed by a Holy Synod.

As coptic orthodox we are Miaphysite, we believe that Jesus Christ has one incarnate nature that is both fully human and fully divine while Catholics consider his natures distinct in one person.

Catholics believe the Holy Spirit proceeds from both the Father and the Son while we believe the Holy Spirit proceeds only from the Father.
Catholics are susceptible to the unchristian Zeitgeist with heretical ideas like same-sex blessings which we as orthodox strongly reject.

When it comes to art, Catholics also utilize and create three dimensional statues while we strictly use icons and paintings. And Coptic Orthodox priests aren't celibate.

Ok- thanks for taking the time to do that for me. I only knew of the RC pope.
