True. But the fiber doesn't lessen the glucose spike. It just adds bulk to your stool...

Comparing a breakfast with bagels versus one with donuts is like a breakfast with grits (or oatmeal) versus one with sugar frosted flakes.

Note: all carbohydrates are converted to glucose during digestion; it is the primary source of energy for us. Excess glucose is converted to fat (for long-term storage as needed).
A glazed donut yields an instant glucose spike, whereas the carbohydrate in a hearty bagel is converted slowly throughout the morning: steady energy without the spike.

Peace!

But donuts just stay in your gut. Oat meal adds glucose spike too. Just eat a protein with the meal and no spike.
Let's say you eat a steak and have a donut for dessert. Your blood sugar will still spike when you eat the donut. It may digest slower due to the steak you ate before, but it's still a pure carbohydrate.

It's going to spike your blood sugar, and your pancreas will release a significant amount of insulin to remove the excess glucose from your bloodstream.
