Apparently Trump has watched every game and thinks the USA is the best team, also the Fox new commentator claimed that the USA game was the best game he had ever watched in the history of the game - can’t of watched many football matches then !!!!!
He equally claimed that the French team were arrogant , his co- presenter corrected him,” no mate that’s confidence “
Its actually way to early to assess who is going to go all the way, obviously I voted England because they are my home team. At this stage it’s anyone’s game.
Renaldo messed up Portugals game by trying to score all the time in order to beat Messi - didn’t play as a team. ( that’s what the pundits are saying over here ). I did think he would try to beats Messi hat trick.

How about the GOAT in basketball?
I say Jordan.
I was a teen when he was doing his thing.

How about golf.
Ever played it? What a frustrating game.
Jack Nicklaus won the most majors, 18
Tiger Woods is next with, 15
So I guess it's hard to argue against Jack

F1 racing. For me it's a toss up between Ayrton Senna and Nikki Lauda.
Schumacher and Hamilton have won more titles but they were lucky to be in the right car at the right time over a long period.

In football, aka soccer, I've already said Cristiano Ronaldo is the GOAT

What do you think?
Any other sports GOATS?
oh there is another sport and many goats do lead in it . the game of the inclusive religoin of anti christ .
But bleieve me wont anyone wanna be a goat of that one .

In the World Cup we see all manner of races and cultures. All play hard to win (sometimes a bit too rough), but generally good sportsmanship.

Always like to see the underdogs score a goal: they and their fans go bananas with joy.

Note how well groomed all these young (and mostly young) men are: many hair styles but almost all neat and tidy: proud to be here and proud of their countries.

Sad the Algerian fans had death wishes for Messi: a truly sour note. On the other hand we also have seen players pray before the games and after great plays.

We read that the Scottish fans drank the Boston pubs nearly dry in one night!

Germany looks especially strong, but it is too early. Love the spirited S Korean and Japanese games. Uzbeki players are a fascinating mix of ethnicities—Eastern European, Slavic, Asian.

Sight-seeing fans love the scenery and the road-side accommodations. The disparaging myths fed them at home were exposed as lies. Perhaps they will return to their countries with a renewed respect for freedom and our inalienable rights given by God.

Blessings to all.

I heard about the pubs running dry, same with where the English fans were drinking. They have conveyed that everyone is lovely and very welcoming. The only side of things that there are complaints about is the extortionate price for tickets. When people have travelled so far and invested in the World Cup, to then expect them to pay for overpriced tickets is not on. One fan was ask 1000 pounds for one match ticket to see England Last night. They are bringing a lot of income into the country - make money, but don’t rip them off.

FIFA sets the ticket prices, and by the number of unsold seats, they clearly have an abysmal business model. Is their main expense the referees? What else? Do the stadiums get a cut?

Did you even watch the game?
The whole team played bad, they made very few chances.
Ronaldo had 2 half chances.
So your completely wrong about that.

Besides, its only one match.
Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia last world cup and won it.
When Spain won it they lost a match to Sweden.
So it's too early to say

It’s what the commentators said, and they were watching the game. They relayed that he chose to keep possession of the ball with the aim of scoring himself, rather than passing it. Wouldn't you want to compete with Messi if you were younger and he was getting all the praise for a great match scoring a hat trick !

Pretty sure that these were tickets brought and then sold on to fans at a high profit

That is rubbish that comes from haters.
I watched the match and those commentators didn't say that.
It's just opinion of jealous haters.
His hated by millions but loved by billions.

The whole team played badly, the ball hardly reached Ronaldo, he only had 2 half chances that came to him.
Fernandes is our best player in attacking midfield, he also had a bad game but haters want to blame it all on Ronaldo as usual

its all opinion - as none of us know him personally we really can’t be sure, but that doesn’t make the commentators opinion or yours wrong or right.
Human instinct, if it’s potentially your last World Cup wouldn’t you want to go out on a high, and In Football it’s not just about winning but about who scores the winning goals. ( for Messi as well as Renaldo ) So I guess I understand why commentators reached that conclusion. It’s not always about hate.

For a commentator to blame the draw on Ronaldo and say he just wanted to beat Messi is totally wrong. His not thinking about that during the match. I wish Ronaldo did have more shots, maybe we would of won then.

It's all about hatred, his coped it his whole career from commentators, pundits, opposing fans, referees, FIFA.

Lamine Lamal is one of the best players in the world now. Spain drew 0-0 yet we don't hear anyone criticising him.

Nobody Cares @mailmandan

And they wanted to shut down all of our Security to make sure that things like this would just be another blip on the evening news.
You now what we did?
We paid them anyways. Kept them active. Kept people safe.

Nobody cares @mailmandan , nobody.

What I see is bread and circuses, such will keep people in general content and distracted, that they do not see anything worth it that they would protest and maybe revolt for.

"Bread, circuses"
"Content, distracted"
"Protest, revolt"

Are you feeling ok there?
Are you trying to be funny? :jest:

USA vs Australia—

Too many unnecessary fouls, and I am so tired of the drama queens.

A first: the referee “collapsed” late in the second half with a severe leg cramp. Took ~5 minutes before he could continue and finish the game.

USA had a bit of luck for both goals; Australia not so fortunate.

Peace.

Three things US drivers take for granted that amazed a UK visitor:
* Wide roads
* Right-hand turns at a Red Light are legal when it is safe
* Our gas pump handles can be set in the ON position, so you can clean the windshield while the gas is pumping.

UK citizens: why have you allowed bureaucrats to take over your great country!

Peace.

Any Americans besides me impressed with group singing by the fans from various countries?

American children sang in their schools at one time: songs like America the Beautiful, My Country ‘Tis of Thee, Home on the Range, . . . . Other than in churches and some summer camps, have Americans forgotten the joys of singing?

Blessings.
