Reader,

After we become a Christian, we are to always be learning more about Jesus, and more about our walk of faith, and more about our ETERNAL Salvation.
And as we come to the complete understanding of God's Gift of Salvation, = to have this "renewed" mind, ....Paul describes it as ..."As many as be perfect".
So, this is not your behavior, this is your understanding that has become perfected regarding completely understanding God's Gift of Salvation.

= When you have complete understanding of God's Gift, then you have "worked out your Salvation".

All Christians must learn what it is that God has given us, as "the Gift of Salvation".
And a critical part of this learning, is to understand that once you have been given it, "while you were a sinner"....you now have it.
Its done., your're born again.

Now, what isn't finished is your daily walk of faith and your growing in Grace (Discipleship).....but your Salvaiton that was completed for you by Jesus on the Cross 2000 yrs ago......once God has given it to you, then you have it and you are SAVED for as long as God lives.. = Forever.

Now, when you decide to really learn about your salvation, then one of the main NT books you must spend a lot of quality time in is ROMANS.
Especially chapters, 3-6.
A must study is Romans 3: 21-28, and Romans Chapter 4 & 5

So, i'll show you some really important things you must understand as found in Romans 4, and i would hope that when you have time you'd study Romans 3:21-28, using a KJV and a Amplifed Classic.
Use those versions, and never an NIV.

Ok, in Romans 4 we find something that is miraculous and marvelous and wonderful and awesome.
Its this..
God gives His Righteousness to the UNGODLY.....who have trusted in Christ.

Welcome to Salvation......Its a Free Gift from Holy God to a Ungodly Sinner.

And who are the "Ungodly"... ?

Its all of us.......who were sinners before we were saved.
See, we didnt come to God as righteous.......we came to God """while we were yet SINNERS"... = UnGODly."
And this is very important to understand, as if you dont understand this, then once you have been forgiven and made righteous......your flesh, that is your carnal mind, will try to TAKE CREDIT for your salvation by works........for what God can only give you as a GIFT.
The GIFT of Salvation, and The Gift of Righteousness, and The GIFT of Eternal Life.
Always remember Believer, that your works are nothing....before God. Not before you are saved or after, regarding WHY GOD SAVED YOU and KEEPS YOU Saved.

So, its the SELF RIGHTEOUS who is trying to earn and keep their salvation, and not lose it, AFTER they have it, because they have not ever understood that God saved you before you ever did any good works...= while you were UNGODLY, and unrighteous, a sinner.
See that?

Listen,
One of the facts of the Devils deception is that He causes you to lose this understanding as He causes you to be blinded by your self righteousness, that is found as "trying to stay saved" and "trying not to lose your Salvation".
= Therefore, never get it in your head that now that you are saved, you are somehow a part of God's Salvation based on your WORKs... when in fact = """all our works are as a filthy rag""" = before God.

The first Example the Bible gives of a self righteous person trying to work to be saved and work to stay saved is CAIN........in GENESIS.
Cain tried that......>He tried to perform for God, and do WORKS to be accpted and God told Him to GET OUT !!!!
And that is how God the Father feels about your works if you are trying to do them to be saved or stay saved, and that includes, you keeping commandments and moses law, and performing water baptism.

Saint,
God saved you, not because you were good, but because you were an ungodly sinner who needed to be forgiven and saved.
We all qualify for God's Salvation, because we were all of us ungodly.......and its a fact that Jesus came into the world to save SINNER.. who are UNGODLY.
So, later on, dont pretend that becaue you are always trying to be good, that this is somehow why God would save you and keep you saved.
= Listen....
God saved you, only based on what Jesus did for you by Keeping the Law for you and then dying for your sin on The Cross.
So, its CHRIST's Effort and Work and Purity and SHED BLOOD that God only accepts to accept an ungodly sinner ""while we were yet sinners".
Thereore never become self righteous and try to argue that God saved you and is keeping you saved because of YOUR behavior.
As if you believe that then you are not Trusting in Christ and in fact you dont even yet understand WHY God saved you, and How.
And that is why i wrote this Thread and my last 5 or 10.........as they are for YOU if you are the one im talking to who needs to begin to understand God's Gift of Salvation.

Jesus tells you how it happens, in :

John 14:6.

Now, lets look at Romans 4.

vs 5.... "but to those who do not work , but believeth on Him who Justifies the UNGODLY".

See that?

This is the unGodly (everyone) who has given their faith in Christ, and God has accpted their faith to Save them based on what Christ has finished for us on The Cross...... = vs 5 says,,,,,,"faith is counted (by God) as Righteousness"....
This simply means that an ungodly sinner, while they were yet a sinner, gave God their Faith IN CHRIST, and God eternally accepted that Faith, and gave them, you, and ME. = HIS Righteousness, as "The Gift of Righteousnes"..
And now having been made righteous by God' Gift, this settles for eternity HOW you become and remain RIGHTEOUS before God........and that is "without works or deeds of the Law".

Now, notice this next verse carefully.. Romans 4:6.....Paul teaches,, that God gives you RIGHTEOUSNESS "without works"... <<<<.

Then notice Romans 4:8 says that God does not charge sin against a Believer.........also taught by Paul in 2 Corin 5:19.

So, what are we discovering?
We are discovering that Salvation is God's Righteousness, GIVEN to the UNGODLY SINNER< only because they gave God their FAITH in CHRIST..
And we are discovering that once we have been given God's Righteousness, God never again charges you with SIN.

And Why does God not charge a Born again Believer with sin?
Its because we are "not under the LAW...but under God's Grace".......so, when there is no Law that can judge our Deeds, then God never again charges us with sin........not ever.....
= "where there is no LAW......there is no TRANSGRESSION (sin)"""... found.

The born again .. "are not under the Law........but under GRACE".

And if you read Romans 4:7, Paul teaches us that our sins are forgiven and we are """COVERED""....and this means that Christ's Blood will always be our eternal Forgiveness.

So what does all this teach us about our Salvation?

Saint, It teaches us that our WORKS and Moses Law and water baptism and trying to imitate Christ have nothing to do with Why and HOW God accepts you and saves you, and keeps you saved.

Now why do Christians become confused about their Salvation?
Most of the time.......99%, its because they are not understanding that they stay forgiven and are kept saved the very same way (John 14:6) they were saved to begin with, and that is by Jesus's BLOOD and DEATH.
And so we the born again are to Teach this fact and Preach this fact, this is defined by Paul as "the preaching of THE CROSS".
And that is what im doing for you, and that is why im on this Forum..

Reader if your are born again, and not just water baptized and religious...., Then THE CROSS OF CHRIST is where your Salvaiton STANDS forever, and its ETERNAL.......its a Eternal Blood Covenant between Jesus and God, whereby Jesus's shed Blood and Death has met God's eternal requirement for JUSTICE and Judgment, that was due you and me, for our lifetime of Sin.
But because Jesus has shed His blood as our Eternal Justification, our Eternal SALVATON< our eternal SACRIFICE ... then once we have This FREE GIFT from God, as our redemption, then forevermore are we covered by it, and kept RIGHTEOUS because of it.

Paul's Doctrine that is the only True solution for reversing the deceptive mind blinding effects of a false theology that has ruined the faith of millions of Christians.
And that theology is....... ""Here is what i have to do, now that im saved, to keep myself saved, while i pretend im trusting in Christ".

See, the heretic pretends that they are doing works because they love God, but the works they are doing are performed only because they believe this is how they keep from losing their salvation or how they stay saved.

Whereas....= The Reality of God's Eternal Salvation is that God's Etermal Salvation is offered only as : Jesus on The Cross.

That's it.

See, Jesus created and completed our Salvation 2000 yrs ago......... and Reader, God will give you what CHRIST has completed for you as the "Blood Atonement" that is the New Testament, that is the New Covenant = "the Gift of Salvation".........if you will give God your Honest Faith in Christ.

Once you do that... say on a Sunday night.....God then gives you His "imputed Righteousness" and the new birth. So in barely an instant from Faith in Christ to Born again "new Creation" having Eternal Life, and existing in the Kingdom of God.......takes about "Half a blink".
And now the former sinner, is eternally proclaimed by God's Mercy, that is the redemption that is found in Christ as....."Born again"....'having Eternal Life"........having become "The Temple of the Holy Spirit".... an "Heir of God" and a "joint Heir with Jesus"..
= A "Saint" who is become a member of : "the body of Christ", which is an eternal situation.

The next morning, you wake up and start your Disciplship, now that you have received God's Son's Sacrifice as your eternal forgiveness, eternal life, and eternal righteousness.

Welcome to God's Eternal Salvation.....He is JESUS on The Cross, and He is God's Gift to a Believing Sinner, as their Eternal Salvation.

do we need to also carry the cross after Christ on the narrow road?

thks

"The Narrow Way"..........is not a road........its The Cross of Christ............its John 14:6.

also..

"carrying our cross" or "denying ourselves".......is strictly related to our Discipleship. Paul taeches this as "present your body as a living sacrifice to God, which is your reasonable SERVICE"..

So, when we are faithfully SERVING God, we are submitted to that constant Service...(Discipleship).....but this didn't save you, and it can't keep you saved, as works are not accpeted by God as the actual reason He gives us "the GIFT of Salvation".

Reader, think about this.......for a second.

A born again Christian can serve God, and a religious pretender can do the same, as both can do the SAME WORKS., and both do them.
So, if you are working to try to stay saved, then stop now, and get your FAITH RIGHT.

proof you can be born again, justified, new creation, having passed from death to life, and have your name written in the book of life and still be eternally lost!

phil 4:3
whose names are in the book of life.

rev 22:19
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Now twist that!

Why would a true christian do that... and deny the authority of this book?

Perhaps you have an explanation.

I agree therefore we do not have salvation, we have the grace of justification and must participate in sanctification and perseverance unto eternal salvation! mt 10:22

"works are required"

((works are forbidden))

eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast

((works are required))

eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

how do you solve this apparent contradiction in scripture?

I see no contradiction in Eph.
We are not saved by works..but rather produce works as a result of our salvation.

Can you address the following question I asked you previously...

Grace questions

#1

Jn 15:1-6

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

a) If we were in Christ and are cast in the fire did we lose the grace of God or salvation?

b) How do we abide in Christ?

Jn 15:10
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1 Jn 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

#2

Jn 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

a) do we have eternal salvation and eternal salvation more abundantly?

b) or grace, and grace more abundantly?

#3

Mt 7:14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

do we have eternal salvation to be on the narrow road that leads to eternal salvation?

#4

Mk 10:30
But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Why are we promised eternal salvation if we possess eternal salvation?

#5

Matthew 25:46
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Romans 2:7
To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

1 Thessalonians 5:8
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

titus 1:2
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

a) Why have hope of eternal salvation if we possess eternal salvation?

b) does eternal security oppose
the virture of Hope and the holy Spirit of promise?

we belong to God in holiness!

1 cor 6:15-20

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

We belong to God and have no right to sin or sell ourselves in bondage to the reformation plantation!

Biblical hope is presented as a sure thing.

It's not I "hope" my team will win the Super Bowl.

The biblical nuance of hope is different than the modern version. You can do a word study if you like.
