Search Spurgeon’s writings. You won’t find him urging his congregation to imitate Vlad.

You, a unitarian, aren’t a defender of Vlad’s Catholic faith, nor of Spurgeon’s Protestant faith. You’re a defender of Vlad’s boldness - and his sadistically violent treatment of his enemies. He was bent on inflicting as much pain and suffering as possible before killing his enemies, and did. This vid is provocative from the perspective of today's overly spiritualized. One interesting observation is the Christian hero Prince Vlad, whose Dracula means order of the Knights of the dragon. He saved European Christian women and children from Islamic invaders by attacking Islamic warriors. In his home country, he is taught in schools as a hero and defender of the faith from Mehmet who conquered Constantinople after 1,000 years of being a Christian capital. Thoughts?

The speaker makes some very good points, yet still advocates for acting contrary to the way which Jesus and the apostles taught and modeled.

One thing he doesn’t do, at least not in this video: he doesn’t encourage his listeners to imitate Vlad.

I know that many didn’t (and won’t) watch the video posted in the OP. If you didn’t, but you read what the author of the OP wrote in post #1, you might have come away thinking that the speaker in the video is extolling Vlad. He isn’t. He doesn’t even so much as mention Vlad’s name.

Did @Wrangler intentionally mislead his readers? I don’t know. What I do know is that he should make certain that his readers understand that what he wrote is his own observation, not an observation made by the speaker in the video. Will he? We’ll see.

Vlad was an extraordinarily evil ruler. That appeals to Wrangler. Does it appeal to the speaker? I might be wrong but I don’t think that it does. If someone knows for certain that it does, please let me know.

It’s not easy for me to defend @Wrangler, and I wouldn’t go so far as to call it his motto - though it might be fair to say that it is -but I will say to his credit: he doesn’t deny that he teaches followers of Jesus (and anyone else who will listen to him - no doubt, that will gain him at least some measure of approval from that audience) that Jesus lied. He’s proud of it.
