That's why we are to only marry in the Lord.Yes ..this is true, and Biblical ...as long as he isn't asking her to break God's laws or forcing her into situations that aren't Biblical (which are one and the same).

I believe God is going to act according to His nature regardless of how wicked people are. I agree there. His nature is good and that never changes. I just don't see Him offering special covenant with Him free of conditions. His goodness is what blesses the wicked, nkt necessarily His love.Again- He hates the evil. But He absolutely blesses them also. I see that as loving them- don't you? while hating what they do.
We are to become more like Christ. He is the EXACT image of His Father. Paul said He was imitating Christ and we are to imitate Paul- (which means Christ) Which means the Father-- we are to bless and love others- HATE what they do but love them.
That is what our Father does also.
You see the wicked enjoying good things in their lives? You see them having children and grandchildren? They are gifts from God. Every good gift come down from the Father of lights.
We see material blessings too on the wicked. We see the rains- etc
God was good to me when I did not know Him. He should have squashed me like a bug- but He did not. He blessed me. Yes - In that sense- yes, He loves all of us.
Now that I believe- life has actually become full of trials and challenges- made to strengthen me, so that is love too. Those whom God loves- He disciplines, so the wicked may not receive discipline of God- but he does bless them. To me that's love. How can you call that hate?
Why would He send His Son to die for people He didn't love? Why would Jesus give His life for people He didn't love? God can love while still being just. He doesn't take joy in the death of the wicked. His mercy extends to all as long as they're breathing. I don't think you can separate His mercy and goodness from His love. His goodness is what blesses the wicked, nkt necessarily His love.
So you see Him as good but not as love? I think that we will never be above God-- and LOVE is what we are commanded to do to all, right? even enemies? - How do we love them?I believe God is going to act according to His nature regardless of how wicked people are. I agree there. His nature is good and that never changes. I just don't see Him offering special covenant with Him free of conditions. @TLHKAJ, this is one of the best posts from you that I’ve read. To put a fine point on it, no being can separate their actions from their nature. It’s that we tend to act based on a dominant aspect for the situation, be it charity, anger, mercy or justice. For instance, I saw my subordinates new baby last week - joy.Why would He send His Son to die for people He didn't love? Why would Jesus give His life for people He didn't love? God can love while still being just. He doesn't take joy in the death in the wicked. His mercy extends to all as long as they're breathing. I don't think you can separate His mercy and goodness from His love.

Watch it Wrangler......if unfamiliar and hope inspiring information is down your alleyDiversion. We're having a discussion right here! No need to divert attention to another discussion. How about you summarize the vid for discussion in this thread?
Very carefully. The Sweet Lady is a very good shot with both her AR-15 and her 9mm pistol. How do you believe a husband should provide for his wife's emotional needs?
I would think a godly husband would accept honest, straight-forward feedback from his wife. It's knowing that she's angry and trying to guess why because she won't talk about it that drives us nuts.God has standards for husband but wives have no real control over whether a husband lives up to them. We can be critical, angry, and complain but this will not drive a husband closer to God.
Let me turn that around: Taken one at a time, what things do you see in the article that would be unreasonable for YOUR husband to do?Are the things put forward realistic? Do you believe husbands are supposed to respond this way?
I made sure to double check that it wasn't in the "Women-only" forum. Thanks for dropping by this thread, by the way.
Have you ever read the godly wife in Proverbs 31?Let me turn that around: Taken one at a time, what things do you see in the article that would be unreasonable for YOUR husband to do?
Me, I know I can't be all that, all the time. But if I can do the right thing at the right time, I've done my job correctly.
Right thing at the right time
I think it is both for both sides of any contract, including marriage.Obligations. Not rights and privileges.
Exactly. He at least saw that she didn't do all of that on her own. She was a businesswoman who ran her home well. She worked hard, and she also sold her goods in the marketplace, as well as designating tasks to many servants to keep things running. She definitely wasn't idle!Have you ever read the godly wife in Proverbs 31?
I still remember the first time I read that...![]()
My husband told me I didn't have to do all of that because I didn't have any "maidservants".Right thing at the right time

I don't expect my husband to listen to my problems without trying to solve them. I think it's a good thing that my husband likes to solve problems. I think a lot of husbands are this way. If I want someone to just listen without problem solving, Ill go to a female friend.Let me turn that around: Taken one at a time, what things do you see in the article that would be unreasonable for YOUR husband to do?

I think God is allowed to be love and still have wrath in His nature as well. Why would He send His Son to die for people He didn't love? Why would Jesus give His life for people He didn't love? God can love while still being just. He doesn't take joy in the death of the wicked. His mercy extends to all as long as they're breathing. It’s that simple. Foolish that women today expect men to react as if they’re women.I don't expect my husband to listen to my problems without trying to solve them. I think it's a good thing that my husband likes to solve problems. I think a lot of husbands are this way. If I want someone to just listen without problem solving, Ill go to a female friend.
No. He is love. I just don't think His love is without conditions. I think any love is meaningless if it does not have conditions. God demonstrated His love toward us through sacrifice. It was so that we could meet the condition of being Christlike. So you see Him as good but not as love?
If you reverse the genders, this joke becomes pretty ominous.Very carefully. The Sweet Lady is a very good shot with both her AR-15 and her 9mm pistol.
