The hard words are to bring down the part that condemns us...the flesh. You have to consider where the desire for comfort is coming from in you. You have to police your own flesh. You have to speak lawfully or else you get a "ticket". And the rebuke of a friend is better than the embrace of an enemy. The Lord is hard on His loved ones because the part of us that we seek to defend so often needs to die. No one likes that. But that's the way of it.

It's like...Lord, if I don't have to drink this cup, this death...let it pass from me. Nevertheless Your will be done.

So if people would check their own flesh at the door...we could have a much more uplifting exchange. The flesh shouldn't be the elephant in the room that everybody just ignores. Light exposes darkness. We should aspire to be children of light...and receive correction eagerly in order to become such.

2Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

You are not rightly dividing the word of truth.

You have just one issue.

A sample of grace is something. Think of it as the first talent you receive from God to see what you do with it. Most take pride in it but do nothing with it to produce the desired intimacy by seeking God's face..
It's much more than just a "sample" unless anyone is trying to rewrite the bible. It is the down payment that secures eternal life - the redemption of the body. It is the betrothal of the bride....the wedding contract, promise, pledge, and bride price that is paid for her against the marriage to come. And God doesn't build His temple without first putting in the strong foundation.

The Lord taught me what bridal intimacy is......it is being broken and allowing Him to cleanse our inner parts so to speak. The washing of our feet is another analogy, without which we have no part with Him. We have had the bath and are reckoned to be every whit clean otherwise, but the bride is in preparation for her marriage while she is waiting for the groom.

The problem is that you identify with religious beliefs that don't save anyone.
Are you saying that the earnest of the Spirit doesn't save anyone?.....because according to the bible that is what saves us....it has a purpose in securing eternal life, the redemption of the body. And it is not of our own.....that no man may boast. In other words, it glorifies God and not us. Any teaching on holiness needs to glorify God, not man....that for me is the litmus test, the bottom line.

So you are taking away their righteousness?
No epi its you doing this . For you will not POINT to the ONLY righteousness pleasing to GOD .
FAITH epi . FAITH IN JESUS . Not having mine own rightesouness which is of the law , but that which is
the righteousness of GOD . FAITH IN JESUS epi . For by the law shall NO man be justified in his sight .
And for those others who THINK that JESUS is the minstir of sin , THEY came to the wrong jesus .
Hic will save none and does reject the gospel of THE ONLY ONE WHO can and could have saved them.
For the true sheep are HIS workman ship created unto good works , hav ing all FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS .

Indeed. You first....?
Did he just say check their flesh at the door . Why HE is the one who must do this .
Not having my own righteousness which is of the law but rather the RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD which is by FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS .
ONLY epi has a dire problem with that reminder . SO seeing it is the SPIRIT that he thinks he follows
and that we follow the flesh . Well lets examine exactly what the HOLY SPIRIT
testifies on , or rather WHO . JESUS THE CHRIST . The dire and absolute need to beleive on HIM .
Any spirit that omits that , IS NOT the SPIRIT OF GOD but is indeed another spirit .
GOD the FATHER TESTIFIED ON THE SON , not HIC , THE SPIRIT testifies on THE SON , not HIC .
And the SPIRIT would confirm the words of JESUS not omit parts and remove faith . Nor would the Spirit
have led us to a sin accepting unbelief preaching mindset .
Epi is truly truly in deadly deadly danger . Better that man repent asap lest he mourn at the last , on the DAY of judgment
given BY GOD UNTO THE SON by whose WORDS shall be their judge .

I think he's not wrong at least in principle, on things to do with holiness, but dear oh dear, he sure is ripping out the foundation, which stands on faith not sight.

Psa 11:3
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Yes but God also has prodigal sons who can return
Key word being "can."

Likewise, everyone has the potential of crying out to God, but in reality, how many will?
All the Israelites that came out of Egypt had the opportunity of entering into the promised land. Only 2 out of how many made it??

The possibility/potential is there....it's a God-given potential...but in reality, how many will reach that potential??

Who is willing to come out from behind "self", to deny "self", since "self" has been our protection since age of 2ish. It's become part of our being. Who knows HOW to come out from under it?? It would feel like death itself, but should be death OF self. Who has witnessed anyone doing so, so as to see the power of God in/on the person who fully surrenders?

We have SO many "excuses" (from SELF) why we don't surrender, blaming everyone and everything but SELF. WHO is taking responsibility for THEIR SELVES?

...my thoughts this morning...

Impossible for us, but with God all things are possible.

I am not sure how many will return. I do know that the Lord told me that I am not an Esau but a prodigal son. That delivered me from intense condemnation.

There’s always a “yes but God also.” Thank God.
ProDeo sees the “yes, but.” Thats a GOOD thing to see them both. That’s what he did earlier when he gave TWO sets of verses and said episkopos teaches and focuses on only one set and therefore teaches false and scares people 24/7. (It’s not true that he teaches only one. Episkopos teaches both and uses an equal weight and divides correctly but to men struggling to work out their salvation with fear in the outer man, the one set looms large and stands out, as it should. That IS the struggle.)

He only makes a mistake by saying the one set is the core gospel message. They both are or there is not a necessary balance needed to progress and find the way.

Well, the bibe says "some save by fear, others with compassion". And it says "the kindness of the Lord leads to repentance". I think only the Lord knows what each soul needs at any given time. And when anyone comes to faith in Christ our soul is flooded with love, at least that was my experience.

There are things that pertain to growth, but what do you believe is the core foundation of the gospel?

And so was my experience. Total love, no words to describe. And hours after that the realization God is holy. It instantly changed me into a believer in search what just happened to me.

There are things that pertain to growth, but what do you believe is the core foundation of the gospel?

Indeed, it was (and still is) the core of my faith, God is love in the first place, His essence.

The gospel is all that Jesus taught. It’s not just a portion of what He taught but all of it. It is a call to all men everywhere and it’s on two levels, to call the wicked to righteousness and the righteous to holiness. They say it can be called “the good news” and that good news is that He doesn’t want anyone to die and has made an escape from a bad judgement - on both levels.

Yes, but what is it's core, it's foundation?

As to the first - the verse is not saying to save some by causing them fear and save others by showing them mercy, so you have not understood it as you use it to comfort your flesh so you use it in a bad way.
The fear spoken of is on the the part of the one trying to snatch someone out of the fire.

At it's core, the foundation of the gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16) To BELIEVE the gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation. ✝️
