Christ is the chief cornerstone IN you.

You are claiming personally what is meant for a corporate application. Just like when people claim to be saved or justified by the death of Jesus. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. So it is very wrong to claim personally something meant for a whole. AND justification is only from God Himself...not the bible or a bible interpretation. So right off the bat you are way out of line.

Jesus was rejected by the builders of a religion in God's name. And He continues to be rejected by those who prefer a bible ABOUT Jesus over actually knowing Him and submitting to the Spirit of truth.
.....IN all who believe, who have received Him

...you mean have CLAIMED Him. Receiving Jesus works if we have been accepted by Him. And that is by the Spirit...and not by getting dipped in water or reading the bible with a mind to justify yourself.
........Christ IN you the hope of glory.

Hope is NOT certainty. Many hope to win a race but only one wins. Paul says this...in a fear of the Lord. That's something unseen among the namers and claimers...who rail against the truth without fear. Clouds without rain. Sporting a religious and unbroken flesh.
.....and he who has this hope IN him purifies himself, even as He (Christ) is pure.

If the hope is based on REALITY...then the person KNOWS how to proceed. A false assurance leads to carnal religious improvement that detracts from any kind of righteous improvement....becoming worse than before.

We are to depart from iniquity...which means we are not to mess around with holiness and easy grace. So many walk into a holy situation with muddy boots and bring in the filthiness of the flesh. So then we purify ourselves of iniquity through humility and the fear of the Lord. Paul feared being cut-off from God's presence after everything he did...and he counsels the wise among us to do the same.

We are not to try purifying OUR FLESH...because it is already condemned.
This is the foundation of the faith, of the gospel. Our starting point.

You make the starting point your SELF. Seeing you believe you have received grace you turn inward rather than seeking God's face. BIG mistake. The heart, especially in your case, is desperately wicked...trying too hard to be clever and always learning, but never getting at the truth... so your heart can't be trusted. Go to God instead.
Who here can say amen (witness) to that?

Among dogmatic believers who try entering into the kingdom the same way that illegal migrants try to infiltrate into Europe... you will get kudos.
Can I hear an amen, or would you like to discuss?
I've tried the discussion route...but you want me to bow down to your foundation which you have erroneously labeled as Christ.

I have seen your guile.
Absolutely. The forum is divided by those who defend self against the truth.... whereas we are to defend the truth against self. We are to "swear to our own hurt." That is something that feels suicidal to many here. But salvation...real salvation ...is from the flesh. So either we are weaned of the flesh gradually...or else crucified from the flesh suddenly. The guests to the great feast are preparing themselves for the big day by weaning themselves from the flesh...whereas the Bride are those whom God has selected to be crucified and walk in resurrection life.

"In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not." Ps. 15:4

So that you know @Lizbeth that your heart is desperately wicked, lucky us Epi is not our final arbiter, instead he is an accuser of the brethren, for which one day he will be held responsible by the real final arbiter, our God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This post of yours is the lowest, mean judgemental you ever wrote.

I am out of here.

We need the fear of the Lord. Not just His goodness. We need to remember His severity also.

The irony here is that people interpret the bible as they are themselves. So if I post the sermon on the mount that says "Blessed are the pure in heart" I will get no response because I am citing the bible...and nobody wants to be SEEN as going against the words of Jesus...at least not publicly.

But if I say that there are those among us with pure hearts...without citing the bible...guess who will jump in and say...You're wrong...The heart is deceitful and wicked". The answer is, those to whom it applies.

The same goes for "there is none righteous." only the unrighteous want to overthrow the righteous.

Amen. People want God's goodness but ignore the CONDITIONS that bring it. His severity is to bring goodness to us.

It's like people want peace while they're pointing a gun at you...so let go of the gun and we can have peace. But any move to remove the gun from the equation they see as a threat.

We reveal who we are by our claims... The parable of the Publican and the Pharisee reveals this. The Pharisee will say he is the Publican in the story (because he is desperately desiring to be justified), and the Publican will say he is the Pharisee (since all he sees is his unworthiness and is NOT looking to be justified).

So then the righteous are not looking to be justified because they see God as being just, not them...but the unrighteous are indeed seeking justification, because they are seeking for something they don't have, but that they want.

There it was again, just as with my non religious family. The accusation that to tell the truth is “being mean.”
People think that love means we love them IN the sin. As in...love me, love my sin. People want to be loved for themselves...not for what they represent or do. That is the way of carnal men. But the churches are overrun with champions of the flesh. As in... You are SO PRECIOUS to God (personally) that Jesus came down from heaven just to die for you (personally). Talk about an EGO boost!!!!

The death of Jesus doesn't justify anyone personally. He was raised for our (personal) justification. The justification of an eternal life IN Him. In Him is no sin.

I was taught that Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live. But Jesus said we would do greater works than Himself. Modern churches teaches Jesus was perfect and righteous so that now we don't have to be. But we are to be perfect as He is perfect especially in love.

The result of this teaching are Christians who don't give to those who ask But simply tithe and attend church. They won't forgive those who hurt them. They walk in disobedience without their houses in order But appear very holy because of the traditions of men.

Wow, oh wow. This is illuminating, and very sad. I wondered if that was what shepherdsword was hinting at. It sounds like Roman Catholicism.

What do you do with where it says "he who has this hope in him purifies himself, even as Christ is pure? " (Both the hope and the purification are because Christ is in him.) That is personal isn't it? And the new man? Is that corporate and not personal?

1Co 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

This is Christ's Spirit. Does the Holy Spirit only dwell in the church corporately and not individually? Are souls not saved individually?

And Christ in us is the thing that separates the gospel from false belief systems and religions.....including ones being done in His name.

Anyway these are rhetorical questions, I really don't want to talk about it further with you. I understand you much better now. And why the silence when certain key things are said, or scriptures posted. You are propagating a FALSE gospel.....it's actually a belief system, not the gospel at all. I can no longer speak to you as a brother, nor your followers who also can't affirm the foundation of the faith and also appear to consider it to be an illusion or strong delusion as you do.

Just caution you or anyone to be careful around here sister, there are some things that are true and some important things that are not. Their foundation is very much out of order here.

Ah yes, the greatest excuse to continue in sin comes out of this line of thinking.

They claim God created them to be sinners and so they think they are required to continue sinning. clueless-doh.gif

They know not the Holy Spirit nor do they allow Him to dwell in them.

If they did, they would have power over sin thru the Lord but sadly they do not.
