You’re getting desperate. What do you consider to be an illusion sister? Is Christ IN us an illusion? And is faith an illusion? Or what is the illusion you are seeing?
Welcome to Christian Forums, a Christian Forum that recognizes that all Christians are a work in progress.
You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.
We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!
You’re getting desperate. What do you consider to be an illusion sister? Is Christ IN us an illusion? And is faith an illusion? Or what is the illusion you are seeing?
I've seen your words, don't bother to try to reframe them into something else.I see you. Won’t work.
Christ is the chief cornerstone IN you.
.....IN all who believe, who have received Him
........Christ IN you the hope of glory.
.....and he who has this hope IN him purifies himself, even as He (Christ) is pure.
This is the foundation of the faith, of the gospel. Our starting point.
Who here can say amen (witness) to that?
I've tried the discussion route...but you want me to bow down to your foundation which you have erroneously labeled as Christ. Can I hear an amen, or would you like to discuss?
I have seen your guile.I've seen your words, don't bother to try to reframe them into something else.
Absolutely. The forum is divided by those who defend self against the truth.... whereas we are to defend the truth against self. We are to "swear to our own hurt." That is something that feels suicidal to many here. But salvation...real salvation ...is from the flesh. So either we are weaned of the flesh gradually...or else crucified from the flesh suddenly. The guests to the great feast are preparing themselves for the big day by weaning themselves from the flesh...whereas the Bride are those whom God has selected to be crucified and walk in resurrection life.I have seen your guile.
You make the starting point your SELF. Seeing you believe you have received grace you turn inward rather than seeking God's face. BIG mistake. The heart, especially in your case, is desperately wicked...trying too hard to be clever and always learning, but never getting at the truth... so your heart can't be trusted. Go to God instead.
We need the fear of the Lord. Not just His goodness. We need to remember His severity also.So then we purify ourselves of iniquity through humility and the fear of the Lord. Paul feared being cut-off from God's presence after everything he did...and he counsels the wise among us to do the same.
The irony here is that people interpret the bible as they are themselves. So if I post the sermon on the mount that says "Blessed are the pure in heart" I will get no response because I am citing the bible...and nobody wants to be SEEN as going against the words of Jesus...at least not publicly. So that you know @Lizbeth that your heart is desperately wicked, lucky us Epi is not our final arbiter, instead he is an accuser of the brethren, for which one day he will be held responsible by the real final arbiter, our God, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This post of yours is the lowest, mean judgemental you ever wrote.
I am out of here.
Amen. People want God's goodness but ignore the CONDITIONS that bring it. His severity is to bring goodness to us.We need the fear of the Lord. Not just His goodness. We need to remember His severity also.
People think that love means we love them IN the sin. As in...love me, love my sin. People want to be loved for themselves...not for what they represent or do. That is the way of carnal men. But the churches are overrun with champions of the flesh. As in... You are SO PRECIOUS to God (personally) that Jesus came down from heaven just to die for you (personally). Talk about an EGO boost!!!!There it was again, just as with my non religious family. The accusation that to tell the truth is “being mean.”
I was taught that Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live. But Jesus said we would do greater works than Himself. Modern churches teaches Jesus was perfect and righteous so that now we don't have to be. But we are to be perfect as He is perfect especially in love.We reveal who we are by our claims... The parable of the Publican and the Pharisee reveals this. The Pharisee will say he is the Publican in the story (because he is desperately desiring to be justified), and the Publican will say he is the Pharisee (since all he sees is his unworthiness and is NOT looking to be justified).
So then the righteous are not looking to be justified because they see God as being just, not them...but the unrighteous are indeed seeking justification, because they are seeking for something they don't have, but that they want.
Wow, oh wow. This is illuminating, and very sad. I wondered if that was what shepherdsword was hinting at. It sounds like Roman Catholicism. You are claiming personally what is meant for a corporate application.
And you are being a drama queen today. I wanted to know what you were talking about, what you believed, that's all. But now I see and know, so you don't need to answer any of my questions. You’re getting desperate.
Just caution you or anyone to be careful around here sister, there are some things that are true and some important things that are not. Their foundation is very much out of order here.I was taught that Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live. But Jesus said we would do greater works than Himself. Modern churches teaches Jesus was perfect and righteous so that now we don't have to be. But we are to be perfect as He is perfect especially in love.
The result of this teaching are Christians who don't give to those who ask But simply tithe and attend church. They won't forgive those who hurt them. They walk in disobedience without their houses in order But appear very holy because of the traditions of men.
I was taught that Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live.
