Why is it so important to have our consciences cleansed by the word of God? What is the difference between having our consciences cleansed and being washed by the Blood of the Lamb into holiness?
Welcome to Christian Forums, a Christian Forum that recognizes that all Christians are a work in progress.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!
As long as we aren't crucified in the outer man, we will get into sin to varying degrees. Our flesh is weak. But the cleansing of our consciences helps us to be thankful to God for His goodness and goes some of the way in bearing at least a fruit of righteousness.a good word for those of us (like me) who seek God in His word but sometimes see our righteousness evaporate with the heat of a situation.
Thanks for the new video.

you - it means to walk in holiness and a full victory over sin. So much so that people don't even believe it exists anymore.
We keep on having a different opinion what holiness is.
Walking in holiness does not necessarily mean sinless.
The New Covenant is not a marker but the real thing. There is a major upgrade from the blood of animals to the blood of Christ.Holiness is being set apart from the world, Scripture :
1Petr 2:1 So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.
1Petr 2:2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation—
1Petr 2:3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
1Petr 2:4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious,
1Petr 2:5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1Petr 2:6 For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
1Petr 2:7 So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
1Petr 2:8 and “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.
1Petr 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Once that was Israel, set apart from the world to be holy, we know how that ended.
Happy to oblige. :)
There is no sinful holiness.
The New Covenant is not a marker but the real thing. There is a major upgrade from the blood of animals to the blood of Christ.
In fact the difference is absolutely revolutionary. Maybe you didn't get the memo??? The modern church soft-pedals holiness because there is NO real connection to the living God. The kingdom of God is FAR beyond an earthly temple.
4 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Eph 4:24
True holiness is not a marker...it is the fulfillment of the law. It is the culmination of grace....the power to be holy as God is holy.
No comment on the Scripture I posted, seems clear to me what holiness means in Scripture, not what you made of it, namely, and I quote from your video :

it means to walk in holiness and a full victory over sin. So much so that people don't even believe it exists anymore.
Show me Scripture that confirms what you said -
- it means to walk in holiness and a full victory over sin.
For the time will come (and now is) when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;Nowhere in Scripture.
- So much so that people don't even believe it exists anymore.
But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.”
For the time will come (and now is) when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
Criticism aside, I am curious how do you have digest (embraced) the following passages -
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Romans 7 is about trying to follow Christ without being crucified in the flesh...without the power of God to strengthen a man. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. But the flesh has to get out of the way. Otherwise we will walk as any man...OUTSIDE the presence of God.Matt 7:11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
In other other words, when did you had your Roman 7 experience ?
I am pretty sure every born again sooner or later will have it.
This would be the same DEATH that we are escaping when we call on the the name of the Lord in Romans 10!So disappointing coming from you. Context is not quoting your "total victory over sin", but context is victory over death, by Christ, nothing to do with us. But let's see -
1Kor 15:50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
1Kor 15:51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Kor 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
1Kor 15:53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
1Kor 15:54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
1Kor 15:55 “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
1Kor 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
1Kor 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Kor 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
Likewise, context has nothing to do with quoting your : it means to walk in holiness and a full victory over sin. So much so that people don't even believe it exists anymore.
Well, you did not provided sound doctrine but cherry picking out of context verses to fit your unsound doctrine.
Criticism aside, I am curious how do you have digest (embraced) the following passages -

I don't understand why people can't admit that Christ can give total victory over sin but we fail to achieve it because we are carnal and disobedient. We need to cry out for mercy. No comment on the Scripture I posted, seems clear to me what holiness means in Scripture, not what you made of it, namely, and I quote from your video :

Nowhere in Scripture.

This would be the same DEATH that we are escaping when we call on the the name of the Lord in Romans 10!
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Wisdom would then have us: (2 Peter 1:10)
"... give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:",
so that we avoid "outer datkness", which isn't death. ;)
And perhaps the verse you were expecting from @Episkopos was this one from Revelations 3:
21 "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne."
And my question to you is, do you understand what we are to overcome?
The devil swallows up new believers by indoctrinating them ....inoculating them from the truth by redefining words and using unbalanced interpretations that deny holiness AND righteousness. And one that indoctrination takes root it is almost impossible to dig up. It requires burning to remove it.I don't understand why people can't admit that Christ can give total victory over sin but we fail to achieve it because we are carnal and disobedient. We need to cry out for mercy.
How do you see this verse?
Ro 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
