I usually have several books open at once, but at the moment only two.
Abide in Christ
by Andrew Murray
and
The Gospel Mystery of Sanctification
by Walter Marshall.
Sometime very soon I will be revisiting Biblical Theology by John Owen. Not the whole thing, just Book 6. Which in my humble opinion should be a must read for every believer.
Seriously?Sounds like the Bible is not opened at all unless you are relying upon the "scriptures" used in the two books that you have opened to justify a particular thrust of understanding.
Seriously?
Sir, I fart in your general direction.
Have a nice day.
Touch a nerve? Uh, sure, if you say so.Seriously, did I just happen to touch a nerve for you?
For that, I am not sorry.
Well....there is nothing wrong with Andrew Murray.Sounds like the Bible is not opened at all unless you are relying upon the "scriptures" used in the two books that you have opened to justify a particular thrust of understanding.
I don't think it was Murray he took exception to. But rather, made the presumption that because I am an avid reader of books other than the bible, that somehow the Bible was neglected. It wasn't his only presumption either. I doubt he has ever read Murray or Marshall for that matter.Well....there is nothing wrong with Andrew Murray.
Maybe you should read some of his writings and about what he put in practice.

The works of Andrew Murray have been a great blessing to me through the years. I recently decided to revisit his 7 volume collection on prayer after listening to the audiobook The Ministry of Intercession. And Im so glad I did.I own two books by Andrew Murray.
"Humility" and "With Christ in the school of Prayer"
Both published by Bridge Logos Publishers.
"The Classic Collection" (different Christian writers) has many books, I own 13 of them.
Touch a nerve? Uh, sure, if you say so.
You need help.
Correction. You need Jesus.
