A word of caution:

There is so much hate and lies witnessed here. Which is very sad, to say the least. But there are times when there are consequences--serious consequences...because the Holy Spirit speaks through people, and "some have entertained angels (messengers) without knowing" Hebrews 13:2.

Since Pentecost things have changed. Up until that time one could blasphemy and even kill those sent by God, and it was forgivable. But not any more.

Jesus/God laid out the terms and drew a line in the sand:

Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The essence of blasphemy is the misrepresentation of God. The insidiousness of it is that it is done under the banner of witnessing for God.

Until the MOTB comes there is currently only one unforgivable sin :-
Dying while REJECTING that Christ died, was buried then rose again so that ALL your sins can be forgiven.

Note the word, "Age" Scott... So many ages have passed, and how many are still yet to come, even after Jesus died, which has come to pass... what his age is in our life has passed after He spoke. No scripture teaches that sin is unforgivable! Only in those important ages!

It is Jesus--God who defined the ages, saying, "Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected", confirming, "I will pour out My Spirit in those days."

So, unless you are wanting to deny the Holy Spirit being present during these days... Well, that's your choice.

Scott.... I'm going to give you two Biblical verses. Just two. From these two verses... Tell me what you see about the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 10:20 (ESV) for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Luke 12:12 (ESV) For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.

Same event, different authors... Now you know.... why... the Holy Spirit is never worshiped, prayed to, or has a seat on a throne in scripture.

Your welcome

You giving me two verses does not address you seemingly dodging the activity of the Holy Spirit during these last days, that "He" could be blasphemed during (that was my point).

What then is your point--that the Holy Spirit is simply the spirit of the Father? What? And then--what does it matter, if blaspheming that Spirit is unforgivable according to Christ? Are you denying that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit even possible?

Well I agree with you that many people hold animosity and even directly lie! But neither of those are blasphemy.

On the contrary, if many can unknowingly entertain angels, many can also unknowingly entertain the Holy Spirit...and it is their own behavior that determines whether it is blasphemy or not.

I believe that the unpardonable sin is a blasphemy (which is, by definition, verbal) that, once committed, will never be forgiven, even on this side of the grave. For this reason I do not believe that someone who rejects Jesus as their Lord and Savior has necessarily committed the unpardonable sin by doing so,

1. because the sin of rejecting Him can still be repented of & forgiven before the sinner dies and,
2. because the sin of rejecting Jesus as Lord & Savior is, typically, a sin, not (specifically) a blashphemy.

Matthew 12
31 Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
Mark 3
28 Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;
29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin
30 because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

--Papa Smurf
p.s. - Hebrews 10:26-31 seems to leave the possibility open that the rejection of the Lord Jesus could, indeed, become unpardonable (including on this side of the grave), if someone does so in the manner that certain, 1st Century Jews apparently did (who rejected Him as Lord and Savior even though they had a thorough knowledge and understanding of who He really was, and that their salvation, then, was wholly dependent upon Him becoming their Lord & Savior).

look at it this way.

one who repents and believed does not need the sin of unbelief forgiven. they believe.

I know it is difficult to understand. but condemnation in the word is based on whether we believe or reject in unbelief the words of God.

Salvation or the righteousness of God, is given to the one who repented and recieved his gift of grace in faith.

also. If blasphemy is something we say or do.. then I believe no one would be saved. think back to before we were saved.. what we said or did.

we all have lived in a state of blasphemy, since at one time or another. we all rejected Go in unbelief.
We all once did live in UNBELIEF all right and thus in a state of blasphemy .
So i want us all to look again at that .
Now when we do and when we realize this
Then ask yourself , Why would one ever join a harlot and her ecumeincal inclusive intefaith .
WHEN CLEARLY IT taught TOTAL UNBELEIF .
WHEN it lied to all the false religoins and to christendom
and sold them a bill of rotted goods by saying ALL the religoins on earth
WORSHIP the same GOD as the christian does .
WHO calls GOD a liar . HE who DENIES JESUS IS THE CHRIST .
HE who recieves NOT the testimony that GOD gave of the SON
IS calling GOD a liar . Not serving the same GOD the sheep do .
FOR if they did they had repented of their false religons
and had SERVED THE SAME CHRIST JESUS WE DO .
It is blasphemy all right . THEY call GOD A LIAR
and say OH ITS OKAY if they believe NOT ON JESUS , HEY THEY ALL SERVING
the same GOD in different ways . THUS CALLING GOD A LIAR .
Now i cant speak for everyone , so allow me to speak for myself .
I AINT SITTING UNDER THAT ANTI CHRIST Table of false love and peace ,
AND i pray NO ONE DOES .

What Jesus was pointing out was simply the difference in us dealing with flesh and blood or worldly things as opposed to spiritual.

Specifically, He was referring to How we treat God. In other words, Adam and Eve sinned against God in the garden and they and all their children down through the ages were not forgiven, and would therefore die; Jesus also being God presented an exception to that same "sin against God" law--because technically He was being blasphemed against but it was not against God, but against "the Son of Man" (a man); but the time would come, and has come, when God as the Holy Spirit would again mean sin against God would not be forgiven.

The point I was making...is that just as people have unknowingly entertained angels, during these times since Pentecost and the pouring out of God's spirit upon all flesh, we could unknowingly be entertaining the Holy Spirit...and commit that unforgivable sin (unknowingly).

Just remember that we are not GOD nor are these earthen govts God , nor is the all inclusive god GOD .
We are not the vengeance of GOD my friend . We are to follow JESUS
and do NO VIOLENCE to any man . You remember this . For soon
the all inclusive god will rage war against the true saints. And will convince all of its children
the time has come to rid this earth of what it will surely call and deem POTENTIAL TERROISTS and haters
who do not know the love of their inclusive god . WHO has sold itself AS THO UGH IT BE GOD .
J ust felt a wee bit compelled to remind us all of this my friend . But of course you would never agree to such a thing anyway ,
Right ......

Id love to see more love and humility here. I give you my word that Ill operate this way even if I don't see often on here.
ME too . ONLY let us all remember love and humility cannot allow sin and leaven to take over .
Correction is not a sin . speaking forth the words of truth , IS NOT a sin .
To rebuke even sharply those who teach another gopsel or support sin , IS NOT hate or is it sin or being judgmental .
HOW do you THINK the evil took over the churches .
AND what THREE WORDS did the decievers use while DECIEVING us .
Pull up a chair sister . because the THREE WORDS they used over and over again
THEM WORDS WERE TRUTH , ONLY THEY USED THEM to silence the mouth of those WHO DID SPEAK TRUTH .
And now by means of those three words they keep on using
THEY now have the churches and false religoins all holding hands , and believing we all serve the same GOD
as they all chant those three words .
GOD IS LOVE . that is HOW SATAN decieved an entier generation . by a false love that did not correct
but only allowed more and more leaven into these places .

you know its true sister . for years all they said was GOD IS LOVE and yet used
that to decieve this entire generaiton .
Satan knows FULL WELL how to use scripture yet how he will twist IT sister . AND HOW HE DID TWIST
THIS GOD IS LOVE he and his co wokers said often
TO recreate over time A god which ALL RELIGOINS could see as and believe as GOD . when it was the devil all along .
